Bra fitting help » band too big??
Ewa Michalak » Pl Cappuccino (316) » 75F 34:7
Issue resolved
Wrong shape and size, ordered 2 other sizes to try
Original problem
I'm wondering if this is the right size. The band seems a bit loose. I can fasten it on the tightest hook and that only feels a tiny bit snug, and reduces the minor gapping on my larger side. Maybe I should sister size down to a 70FF?

helpfulIf your measurements are correct, the band should be fine - you say that if you measure it stretched its only 31 inches. However its a 75, so it SHOULD stretch to 34 inches, which is probably too big for you. I had an S that was similar to that PL and iir, it ran loose
OTOH, 'feeling' loose does not necessarily mean its too loose, it could mean its not as tight as what you usually wear. What matters is if it stays in place and if your breasts are supported
Many Ewas run tight in the band, but I have found htat, in general, the padded bras seem to run less tight than the unpadded? not sure.

For me, the padded ones just dont give enough projection. they always slip down. i really need to sell the ones i have

I ordered a 75E and 70F to try, they just came today so we'll see what happens!

helpfulI would not judge band fit based on this one... it can be hard to assess band fit when the cup fit is not quite right and in this bra it looks like the cups are a bit big for you, just judging by the height and side coverage, and the fact that the cup apex and midline is very far from where (I assume) the natural apex of the breast is.
(Not very applicable here since the cup volume problem could be confounding anyway, but I'll just throw it out there: a lot of people overtighten their bra straps out of habit after years of wearing approximately-sized bras, so loosening them as much as possible is the one tip I always give people who are concerned about the band riding up at the back. Even a well-sized band can ride up if the straps are pulling hard enough. If the straps are loosened appropriately, the cups are confirmed to be a precisely perfect volume, you've scooped and swooped, and the band still rides up after a minute or two and a couple jumping jacks, it is too big.)

I do have the straps pretty loose. It's just so hard for me to tell where the fit issue actually is!

I mean, the jury's out on the band sizing, but I would not worry about this since the cup design and size also seem wrong for you. The straps are wayyyy out in your armpits as well and I'm just generally not wowed by this bra's potential for you.
Incidentally if you don't have a specific passion for Polish bras, your size range is extremely well-served in the US and UK, so if you live in either one of those countries, or adjacent, there are definitely a lot of options that should work nicely, and should be more affordable and also more accessible.
I am also very, very center-full and always have been despite fluctuating between about 9" and 13" breast perimeter outside of pregnancies... so I know that it does rule out some of the most popular full bust bras but there are still tons of options when you know what to look for! -
I am in the US. I've tried and returned about $2000 worth of bras through Amazon wardrobe and Dillards. The best fitting bra I have is a 32F Cleo Hettie that I overlapped the wires on, and I keed an extender as well. It still digs in a bit on the larger side at the horizontal seam, and it isnt very comfortable because the gore is so high that even overlapped the wires kinda sit on breast tissue. I've tried sooo many Cleos and Panaches and Freyas and there always seems to be problems. The gores are too high, the cups are too shallow, it's too closed off for my center fullness so digs there while gapping at the straps. If you have any suggestions for other options for center fullness I'd love to hear it. I think I may have tried everything that was suggested on blogs so far but maybe I missed something?? I'm about to go back to my wireless Enbliss Soma bras in 36DD even though the bands are on the big side and they wear out quickly as a result :(

The mainstream UK bra brands no longer worked for me after 2005 or so either! When I was approximately your cup volume I found my best fit in full-cup styles from Chantelle* or Wacoal (and the VERY occasional Fantasie). They actually go up to an H cup in a number of models which contrary to what size conversion charts suggest, often approach a UK G/GG. Search by measurements on here and you'll see some options! The UK brands put their straps too far out for me once they started targeting younger shoppers and it just completely screwed up the angle and placement of the cup edge compared to my personal anatomy. The key was to go for a VERY full coverage cup to ensure that the cup edge would not be trying to cut across the fullest part of me. Courage, you can find things!
* as well as other more obscure French brands you will see on my profile--but those are the most accessible ones in the US right now, and can usually be tried in a dept store.

* oh and if you don't mind wider wires some Elomis could actually be worth a shot.

I've tried a few Chantelle and Wacoal at Dillards, but of course there's limited options in the store in styles. A lot of them have seemed too shallow or a weird fit but that was before I found this site so I haven't tried searching by measurements yet, maybe I need to try again.

I ordered a 75E and 70F to try. The 75E seemed ok at first, but even with the cookie taken out it started quadding my bigger side pretty quickly. Seeing how the 70F holds up now!

I'm still trying to figure out my size and these are my first Ewas. I got a BM also in the same size that definitely is much firmer in the band. I'm struggling so much to find good, comfy bras. I'm pretty center full so lots of times I can be spilling out the middle but gapping near the straps. I love the Polish bras but it's really hard to pay so much to take a chance! I was able to get these from Levana at least, so in country shipping and returns. I might not have stretched it hard enough when measuring, I'm worried about damaging them! I'll try it on for a bit longer to see if its riding up. If so, I'm not sure where to go next size wise
