Bra fitting help » Shape mismatch again or just too big, which padded bra or size next?
Cleo » Mimi Padded Balconnet Bra (8091) » 32F 32:7
Just as the review, I feel the cut of this bra is a little bit weird. It has a cup width for only about 14.5 cm and there's empty fabric at side.
Normally the 14.5 cm width will be perfect for me. A few months ago I have purchased a Hunkemoller Halfcup in 70F. It has the same cup width and I didn't get any empty fabric. My nearly one year old Nadine 3/4 Padded by Change Lingerie has even 15.4 cm in cup width and I feel it is also not bad. However, these two bras are much shallower than Cleo Mimi. I think the Hunkemoller Halfcup is closer to the perfect fit. It has 22.9 cm in cup depth and I only get slight quad boobs when I am wearing it. The Cleo Mimi has 23.7 cm in cup depth.
I don't know which padded bra should I look for next, if anyone here know the issue that I mentioned above please help me out.

helpfulYes, mismatch again. Move away from the balconies! I repeat - move away from the balconies. Wide, shallow bras with too long bands and straps in your armpits are not your friends. Embrace the narrow cup, the projected cup and the sub-32 inch band.

I measured my tight ribcage again, it is 72.1 cm, and the current loose ribcage is 79.8 cm. Sorry for the mistake, will update the measurements.By the way, this Tisha 30G has only 21.8 cm in cup depth, I'm afraid it is not enough.

smjwzhan yes, I think the remeasure sounds about right. That would put you in a 28 to 30 band. Are you inhaling fully when you measure the loose ribcage? Do you get the same measurement if you just breathe normally and measure the ribcage loosely?
For some bras, you can't go by the cup depth measurement compared to your breast perimeter, especially if there is very limited measurement info. I know that the cup depth is not the same as your measurements, but I suggested this style because it fit someone who has the same measurement as you (under "breast perimeter"). It looks like the only person who measured their bra in this size didn't measure correctly. If you look at the entire measurement table, the increase in cup depth doesn't make any sense.
I have this bra in 30D and 30E and can confirm the cup depth increases by 2 cm between sizes. 30D is 18.1 cm, 30E is 20.1, 30F should be 22.1, 30G should be 24.1. Another similar bra in 30G with a less open top measures at 25.5 cup depth: http://bra.pe/SCCQL/
Also, Le Mystere uses D-E-F-G measuring system, so I wear 30E, your measurements indicate you are 2 cup sizes bigger than me, that's how you get 30G. This is 30F in UK sizing.
Because this is an open cup balconette style, your breast tissue is not meant to be entirely contained in the cup as the bra pushes you up for a rounded look at the top. In this type of style, if you choose a cup depth that matches your breast measurement, the cup can end up too big on you, especially at the top of the cup, unless you are extremely FOT or have really tall roots. I think that's part of why the Mimi's measurements seemed like they should work for you but they do not. However, the unstretched band of Mimi is so big that it doesn't create the right tension on your body for the cups to sit right anyway.
If you want to try Mimi again, 30F would be a better choice, going down one size in band and in cup. You can see that 30F fits a breast perimeter of 25 cm but the cup depth is 22.2. So, in certain styles, you cannot match your breast perimeter measurement to the cup depth. Trust the fit info from other wearers-- it's easier for people to say if a bra fits them than it is for people to measure the bra consistently.

helpfulI’d try a 30F or 32E. It does look a tad too big - you can see the gaping in pictures 3 and 5. But even then, considering where you’re indicating your root is in picture 1, those sizes might even still be too wide.

Maybe you are right, I should get one size down. But actually I don't think my roots are narrow, my tissue spills slightly out of the cups when I wear Cleo Marcie in 32E.

The Cleo Marcie 32E is too shallow for you and without enough projection at the wire. Breast tissue is going to ooze out where it can. You can think that your roots are wide all you like, but you will have the same result again and again with wide, shallow bras on the shape that is you! Embrace that shape that is you!

Thank you for your advice. I will try my best to find some narrower bras with more projection, although it is a very hard work in Germany. -
smjwzhan you can buy bras online! Amazon, Brastop, Figleaves. I found unlined Curvy Kate bras pretty narrow. Plus you can try out polish brands.

I agree with you, currently I get all my bras from online shops because there's no bra fitting studios in our state. We only have Hunkemoller and Change Lingerie local stores. Before I purchase a new bra, I usually read some bra blogs and compare the measurements on Bratabase to make decisions. But I can't define my shape very well, so there can be a lot of try and errors.

Agreed with Jazzypants on all points.
Are you sure you're measuring your ribcage correctly? The reason I am asking is that your tight ribcage isn't too different from mine, but your loose and comfortable measurements are much larger. However, based on your pictures you seem quite slim and it doesn't look like you have much padding, so the amount of difference seems a bit unusual.
My tight ribcage measurement is pretty close to yours, but usually 30 bands are way too big for me. 32 is impossible. It feels like you might be overestimating your band size, which would cause the problem of lack of proper support from the band as well as cup proportion problems.
Mimi runs a band big anyway and the cups are quite big as I advised you previously.
I don't know if you can get Le Mystere in Germany, but Tisha Evolution in 30G might work for you. The wires are narrow but flexible, and the top of the cup is pretty open. I think it's rather narrow and projected for a molded cup bra:
