Bra fitting help » Elomi Cate 40 HH- does this size fit me ?
Elomi » Cate Banded Bra (4030) » 40HH 40:12
I've just ordered this bra, and also the same bra with smaller cups (40 H and 40 GG, in French this one is 105 L and the others are 105 K and 105 J). The pictures of the other sizes are available in the list of bras in my profile.
I'm leaving tomorrow for two weeks, and would like to return some of them tomorrow morning if possible (and also
each model costs around 50-60 euros so I'd like to get some money back...), and keep one of them to bring it with me for the trip.So I would need some help to know which one of these three sizes I should keep (or whether all three sizes are wrong for me).
I feel quite okay in this size (40 HH) except that the center gore doesn't lie flat.
The band is tight, but less tight than with the Sculptresse @candi 40HH model that I received today (see other fit request).
Actually I don't see much of a difference between the 40GG, 40H and 40HH cups, except that with the smaller sizes, the cup of the left hand side (my largest breast) is a bit too full near the armpit, and that with the largest size, there are a few wrinkles on the cups.
@alisa and @cupandahalf your advice was very useful with my previous fit request, so I wonder if you would have some advice about this model.

helpfulHere are some links to the other two sizes:

So the 40HH does fit the best. The others are too small and pushing your breasts under your arms. You always want to fit the bigger boob. That’s one reason stretch lace is nice. You can sometimes size down and meet in the middle. My smaller side is one or two cups smaller too- it’s pretty normal.

helpfulI think this size fits you best. The 40GG and 40H are too small. Out of these 3 bras I'd keep 40HH. There is some overspill on the side of the cups in the other 2 bras. This one looks close fit to you right. (I also notice just now I'm probably late with my reply sorry )

Thanks for your reply alisa (and thanks cupandahalf and dfe98we too).
Sorry for replying so late, I was on holidays and spent very little time on the internet.
I brought the 40 HH bra with me on holidays, and so after wearing it for some time I noticed better what fits or not:
-on the whole it looks not too bad under clothes
-the band size feels OK (unlike the band of the 40HH - Sculptresse » Candi Full Cup Bra (9375) whose band was very very tight).
-the lower part of the gore touches my skin, but its upper part is one or two fingers away from my skin.
I guess a shorter tack might be better suited to me.-the shape of the cups doesn't seem to fit me very well: as you noticed, the HH size is better for me because for the smaller sizes there is some overspill near my left armpit.
But the lower part of the cup isn't full on the outer side (it's a bit hard to see if on the photos because of the black color), the wires are a bit far from my breasts (which is a bit uncomfortable sometimes).
So it seems that the wires are a bit too large for me on the lower, outer part (but I still need the cups to be large because of the upper part near the armpit).
I might order another 40HH - Elomi » Cate Banded Bra (4030) because it still is much better than my order bras, but I wonder if I could find a model better suited to me (at 60 euros each I'd rather find something comfortable enough...)
Among the models which might be available to me with free returns (online on Zalando and 3 suisses) besides the ones I've already tried (Elomi Cate and Sculptresse Candi), there are:
Elomi:
-Morgan Banded Bra
-Meredith full banded bra
-Charley Plunge
-Amelia Bandless Moulded Bra
-Charley Bandless Spacer
-Mia
-Tia
-Matilda Plunge Bra (someone already told me in another discussion that the Matilda might be not suited to be because of the way its band stretches)Sculptresse:
-Chi chi
-Estel
-Logan
-a model with beige lace with no name and that I couldn't identifyAre there some models that you would suggest trying ? (There are sales now in France which will end on August 15, so a few of them are cheaper that the usual 60 euros...)
-
I think the bra is too closed on top and you would like a narrower bra more open on top/with stretch lace on top. That’s probably one of the big reasons the gore doesn’t touch at top.
-
Thanks cupandahalf !
Would you have a suggestion of another model ?
-
Yes, these might work:
-Morgan Banded Bra
-Meredith full banded bra
-Charley Plunge
-Amelia Bandless Moulded Bra
-Charley Bandless SpacerYou can also try Sculptresse Estel in 40H or HH.

Morgan & Meredith both have stretchy lace top.
Avoid the Tia bra - I once had it and it was very odd in size- much taller and wider than any other Elomi bras.
I recently got 32JJ - Elomi » Lucie Plunge Bra (EL4490MEA) and I like it best ouf of all their bras I tried. It has a very nice stretchy lace top but at the same time is very supportive. I found mine on Zalando. -
Thanks cupandahalf and alisa !
Pity for the Tia, I liked the way it looked on photos.
Zalando.fr has the Lucie Plunge Bra but my size isn't available now, alas (and the only color is "Meadow", which I don't like much). When I'm more sure of my size, I might try to find in on other web sites.
Also the 3suisses web site seems to be dysfunctional now (it's impossible to choose a size on whatever product, I've tried with several browsers) and they still haven't refunded me after more than two weeks...
I'm leaving again for a few days, I'll order another bra whem I'm back. Right now France is in the middle of a heat wave, I really envy the people who can afford not wearing a bra !

I feel bad I trashed the Tia. I looked it up here and it looks very tall on most pictures but there is nothing off about it. It could be that just mysize (32J) was running oddly large. If you can get it with free shipping and returns, why not give it a try.
Lucie is fairly new and there is only that colorway right now. I like it because the stretchy lace is very soft and doesn't cut in on me. I also like the Matilda as it has strong supportive wires.
-
alisa have you tried Elomi’s other stretch lace plunge bras? Is Lucie different than they are?
-
cupandahalf so Bratabase lists Lucie as a new cut I guess.
So I have tried a few I think Danielle way back or Charley. They all have this band at the cup edge, the one Morgan / Mariella also has and that cuts in. Lucie does not have it! But the cut looks the same to other plunges. I will add pics of mine. it's my fave bra of Elomi I tried so far. It's the stretch lace bra my super fot boobs always wished for :D -
Thanks alisa and cupandahalf.
I'm not very happy with the 3 suisses sites so far, as they still haven't refunded me, and also their web site is quite a mess (bad search engine, problems to choose sizes...)
So I'm more likely to order on Zalando, but many of the bras are not shown on a model, so it's a bit difficult to see what they look like. -
Thanks for typing in the measurements. Very helpful

helpfulYou should try it in 40j uk. Fit the bigger left breast, that’s you have overspill. The elomi cate perfect for you. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Can you add measurements for the 40H and 40GG. Cate is one of my favorites
