Bra fitting help » Unclear if I have the right fit—not fully filling cups
Freya » Hero Side Support Plunge Bra (1841) » 32E 32:6
Issue resolved
Fit worked! Decided the cups got okay. I’ve been wearing it awhile now in the rotation and I’m happy with it.
Original problem
I’m new to finding a bra that fits and think I’m getting closer! I’m struggling with the terms but I think I’m generally equal fullness, leaning towards FOT. I think I have wide set breasts. If anyone can chime in with things that you notice, that would be very helpful! I was previously wearing a 32D and the fit calculator suggested I try 32E. I think I’m getting close to a proper fit but don’t seem to fully fill the top of the cups. The gore tacks nicely and I think the underwire sits properly. It might be a little wide for me but I’m not positive. Any input on fit or suggestions on where to go from here in terms of sizing or new bras to try? How does the fit look?

helpfulIt's often hard to judge things like wrinkles with a dark bra - cameras don't pick up that depth well.
Questions for fit and future suggestions:
1) how are your straps? Tight? Loose? Just right?
2) how is the band? Is it riding up at all, or is the bra sliding down?
3) are the wrinkles just at the strap, or all the way down to the apex? Are they noticable under a shirt?4) if the bra is comfortable, in the band, straps, wires, and the wrinkles are barely noticable then it's good!
Other thoughts:
Side support in Freya (and Fantasie) typically creates a very "all over full" cup (I like it for pms bloating). I'd recommend trying a Freya plunge style. Something like the Ignite if you can find it.A couple angles made me wonder if you'd be more comfortable in a less projected bra, like a half cup.
Have you tried a Cleo Marcie yet?

I can't understand the meaning of the "all over full" cup in your suggestion. My boobs are even and I have had a Fantasie Side Support that actually didn't fit: http://bra.pe/IqPe/
The cups are too pointy and close off on the top. Although the cup depth seems ok for me, I've got quad boobs in it. I also have similar problems with many Freya bras. -
copperboom sounds like the cup closes off a touch too soon, or is a touch too projected, which isn't really a fit issue if it is comfortable and it doesn't bother you. :) If it does bother you, try a few other styles.
A halfcup typically has one or two vertical seams, and is more open on top. The Freya Patsy Halfcup is often the go to example (https://www.bratabase.com/browse/freya/patsy-padded-half-cup-bra-1223/), though Freya/Fantasie both make an unpadded vertical seam style, Cleo makes halfcups (Juna, Mimi, etc) and I'm sure other brands do as well. The Polish brands Comexim and EM both have a halfcup style, but I'd recommend testing your style/shape/size on easy to return bras first.

smjwzhan I'll take some pictures and add them for you to see and compare.
Remember that just because a bra works for some even boobs, it won't work for all even boobs. There are a lot more variables at play. These bras in particular (Freya/Fantasie) can give you a pointed shake for a variety of reasons:
1) the cup is too small (similar to orange in a glass effect) which may be the case for you
2) cup is too big (tends to see more wrinkles or an "elf shoe" point)
3) cup is too deep (could also be the case for you -freya and Fantasie make deep balconies/plunges)
1&3 often go hand in hand, especially if you have taller roots. If you have shallow-medium projection, top or center heaviness, or tall roots, that can cause fit problems in a Fantasie, especially in the side support styles.
For Freya plunges, check the cut styles (https://www.bratabase.com/browse/freya/cuts/) - some are FOB only, others are more forgiving of evenness or center fullness (which is why I recommend the Ignite and not the Ooh la la).

helpfulAccording to your pictures I can't see any fit issues. Normally several millimeters to 1 cm empty fabric at the cup top can be tolerated. The measurements show that the stretched band is identical to your snug rib cage, I guess you have wrong measured. If the stretched band is really 76.2 cm, I think it's a little bit too tight for you and it can cause the bra sliding down. So please check your wires/wire marks, if they are not directly laying in your IMF, then this bra certainly can't work well on you.
By the way, this bra is called Starlight Side Support Bra.

Thanks for the feedback, smjwzhan . It’s certainly possible I measured the stretched band wrong. I had a hard time with figuring out how much to stretch it. I’ll try again today!

helpfulI see wrinkles on top but fabric lays flat and cups looks filled out. A lot of women have such wrinkles where the cup meets the strap I think it might be considered a minor fit issue. Otherwise cup looks good! Band measurments look good to me too. You might want to try something less wide if the wire marks dont follow your breast roots

Thanks, Orange_Kate ! Do you happen to have any particular suggestions for bras that are similar but a little less wide?

Thanks for your feedback, ritzyrunnergurl !
I’d say the straps are just right when I tighten them. From what I can tell, the band seems like a good fit as well. It stays in place throughout the day. The wrinkles seem to run vertically from the mid seam to the top near the strap to about midway down the cup. Nothing near the middle. I haven’t tried it with many right shirts yet but so far no problems.
I’ll definitely check out those 2 bras you mentioned! Would you mind explaining what you mean by a half cup?
