Bra fitting help » Went up a band size but now I am even more confused
Natori » Feathers Contour Plunge Bra (730023) » 34D 34:4
Issue resolved
I have a set of extenders on the way so that I can manage the smaller band sizes until they stretch a bit (or permanently if needed).
Original problem
The 32DD seemed just a bit small. This 34D seems large. It feels like it is shaped differently so my breast actually sits down in the cup more than the 32DD. I know there are some break points where they change construction so maybe that is it? Here is the comparison between the two measurements. Hardly any difference but it feels very different. https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dn82f/vs/bra/dnfuw/
I had said this was my last set of Natori Feathers one way or the other but I am almost wondering if I should size down a cup and try the 34C or call it quits on this style. Thoughts suggestions? It is also a bit difficult to tell because I have worn way too small bras for so long.
Note: the lace is wrinkled at the top next to the strap but it doesn't seem to matter how it lays or how filled the cup is. I don't know if that is design or maybe just sewn poorly on this specific bra.

helpfulI didn’t see how the 32DD fit, but I can’t imagine a 34 fitting, the stretched band of a 34 will most likely be larger than your loose underbust measurement. I think a 32DDD or the 32DD with an extender until the band stretches a bit is your best bet.

Maybe 10 wears and a washing or two? I always have an extender on hand for cases like these. I am wondering if the cups aren’t too small on the 32DD, too small cups can make a fitting band feel too tight. That may not be the case though.

I have tried 32s with much too larger cups and it still seems very tight. Dvrgrl812 , thanks for the insight on the wear. Do the extenders have to be sewn on or is there another option?

They are not seen in, that’s the best part, here is an example: https://www.amazon.com/Tamlien-Extender-Hook-Comfortable-Extension/dp/B07HSZ22DP/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=bra+extender&qid=1612742993&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzQUFQREVESlMzREsxJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNzg1NTU3MU9TREhWN1lFMlNLTSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNTM1NTIwM0k4SUtDQlc1U1BPUyZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

helpfulI am not a big fan of the Natori Feathers on you. There are lot more flattering shapes out there for you. Stick to the 32 bands and reach past the D cups. Smaller band / bigger cups... Think more projection, narrower cup separation, I can't tell about cup width from your photos, but definitely be cognizant of that measurement.
It can be hard to break out of the idea of being bigger than a D cup as we are told that a D cup is ginormous!

I have no issues being in a larger cup. However, I have tried on several DDD and F bras and they are comically large, like inches of emptiness. I assume this has to do with bra construction changing as the cups get larger. Everything that I have purchased with more projection has also been comically wrong. Is there something that is close the the shallowness of the Natori Feathers that might be better? Just an itty bit more projection?

helpfulI do wish to see if a 34C is a better fit. It is troublesome to see the wrinkling on one side. Best wishes for a perfect fit.

I've worn the 32DD for two days now and I have red marks and feel like I can't take a full breath by the end of the day. The 34 has to be on the tightest hook which I know isn't correct but at least I didn't feel smothered. How long does it usually take for a band to stretch out?
