Bra fitting help » Band pushed down from weight of my breasts, can’t get into IMF

Issue resolved
I have been trying other sizes
Original problem
This has been my best fitting bra yet but it’s still not right. The weight of my boobs is pressing the wire/band down. I’m hoping to find some guidance on my bra size. I posted in ABTF Facebook group and was helped a little there but if someone has more Comexim advice I would appreciate it. I think I need more projection. And maybe a different size? I tried one size up from this one and it didn’t fit either, this one fit better. I do think I need straps closer together and gore overlapped. This is my first time asking for fitting help and I have no idea what I’m doing lol sorry!

helpfulThis is such a cute pastel design! I can see why you liked it, but in view of your measurements, if you need straps closer together, I would not be pursuing Comexim as a brand for most everyday bras because there are other (possibly more accessible) brands that will be more compatible with your build. I don't necessarily think that you will need such refinements as overlapped gore etc. The reason this bra is not sitting well is largely that it's not graded for someone with your small frame... the cups wrap around your body quite a bit, and your shoulders are too petite for the straps to sit where the designer intended, so they tilt your breasts inwards towards the midline of the body, interfering with the gore, and and the straps no longer have the ability to do their job i.e. to stabilize the cups. The Comexim materials also are not ideal for stability when this problem is already occurring. What brands and designs have you tried apart from this and the Freya Lyla?

damaries I'm so sorry, I think I narrowly missed your response last time I came to bratabase and then haven't been back in ages! I was going to just leave it but then I checked your profile and saw you'd since added a ton of bras and still had only one marked as fitting. So of course with my interfering nature I had to comment in case you felt lost in the bra-fitting wasteland :-P
I did not have the time to analyze every one of your posts but seeing the bras you tried, their sizes, and a few reviews, I am tempted to say you are headed in the same direction most newbies are "pushed" by the current calculator algorithms and the resulting vagaries of fit: trying sizes with a band so tight that it distorts the cups, does weird things to the strap and wire position and just generally makes it all confusing. (I am not sure what's changed in the past few years with the calculators, but all I know is that people trying to find their size nowadays often seem to get nudged towards a band that's as small/tight as they can tolerate, rather than a band that is only as tight as they need for support.) Anyway, when the cup is getting pulled out of shape, that makes it a lot harder than it needs to be to figure out the cup dimensions/designs that will work for you, let alone size!
I could suggest a variety of other options but am not sure where you can easily shop and what brands are more accessible... Do you live in the USA/North America, in Europe or somewhere else?

Thank you wendybien for taking the time for this response! I appreciate it! I am a little lost and trying to navigate my way lol. I am in the USA. I have tried several other bras that I didn’t add when I first started. I’m currently waiting on two EM’s to arrive. I’m also trying to decide what to exchange my last Comexim for. Any advice and help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you! :)

wendybien , I welcome your "interfering" nature! You see things almost no one else sees, and then you troubleshoot the most convoluated problems. I wish we had a virtual "Bat (wendybien) Signal" for when someone needs brafitting advice, as yours is always excellent.

damaries once again I should probably try to come back to BtB more often than every 10th of Never... lol! Any progress since we last "spoke" on this thread? What happened with your EMs? Feel free to tag me in anything you have posted if you had fit issues you are still wanting feedback on

wendybien Thank you for coming back to this! I tried two BM’s both 65H SF cuts and the wire was so high into my armpit. I tried a 65GG EM S cut but needed a little more room in the cup. I tried an EM 70GG, way too big in both cup and band. I’ve tried a few more Comexims, Panache Ana in a million different sizes. I’ve tried so many lol. Still searching

helpfulI think it looks pretty good but maybe ask for the firmer wires?

I didn’t know we could ask for that. So that would help?

helpfulIf you like this bra / brand / design a lot and do want to place a direct order to pursue a better fit in Comexim, I'm thinking you may benefit from 3 main things: a) moving in the straps, b) possibly asking for a lower gore and c) added projection.
For example: straps moved in 3cm, gore lowered 1 cm (to allow for your closeness) and 1 or 2 cm of added depth at the wire? It could be worthwhile to size up to 65L with these alterations, as moving in the straps effectively makes the fit a bit smaller. Or the added depth might already compensate for that!
My advice however would be not to over-ask on alterations, as they do tweak the fit and it can be hard to predict the desired result.
Good luck!

helpfulI have this one and it fits me similarly, I replaced the wires with firm ones from Porcelynne and now it lays flat against my sternum. I think it helped move my center fullness up and closed off some of the space you also have at the top of your cups.

I have tried Panache Envy, Sienna, Marcie, Hettie, Asher, Lyzy Triangle (some are Cleo by Panache). Curvy Kate Top Spot Balcony, Ellace. Fantasie Impression. Freya Lyla Balcony, Unchained Balcony. Comexim Plunge, 3HC. Ewa Michalak Plunge. I was recommended to try the Panache Ana and that will be here tomorrow in 4 different sizes to see if that helps me figure out my size. Thank you for your help and info! Is there anything else you recommend? I am projected and very close set. I just tried EM but bought a size too big but I did find that bra to feel a lot more comfortable than everything I’ve tried so far, even this Comexim.
