Issue resolved
Try smaller size or alterations
Original problem
I’m not totally sure what’s causing the gapping along the top of the cups, so I wanted to get some more opinions. I think it’s just that the cups are too tall for my short-ish roots. I don’t really think the size is too big, the gore barely tacks in this and my 60HH 3HC fits alright. If anything I was concerned I’d maybe ordered a size too small since I’ve gained a little weight recently and am measuring closer to 28FF.
Does this seem right? If I were to order another plunge cut from Comexim, what alterations should I ask for to get it to fit?

helpfulI’m still pretty new to comexim but I think this looks too big. In my limited experience and from reading others experience, the plunge runs larger then the 3HC (taller, deeper cups). Unfortunately I can’t say for sure what the answer is because I have not figured out the plunge for myself. Hopefully someone else can chime in here.

helpfulAgreed with margesimpson that the plunge cut is generally a larger fit than a 3HC. I believe that you could either reduce the cup height and gore height or simply try a size smaller. In this case I would try the smaller size first.

helpfulI am not an expert at all but I would say the cup looks too big.

helpfulTo add on to what everyone else has said about it being too big, Comexim gores tack softly for a lot of people regardless of how the cups fit. It’s just because they use soft wires.

helpfulIt's too big in the cup - also Comexim plunges work best for fuller on top shapes though their newer cuts like this aren't as tall as older ones. Also, I wear the 3HC a cup size bigger than the plunge, which seems to be the norm. Try 1-2 cups smaller before asking for alterations. When I ordered my first Comexim, I ordered 2 cup sizes larger than my UK size because that's what everyone said to do. Turned out I didn't need to size up in cup at all. Possibly because at our size ranges - I wear a 65H - the cm to inch differences haven't yet add up. Good luck! I have this bra, it's a beaut!

I’m still just concerned that a 60H wouldn’t have the depth that I need. I compared the measurements of some 60H and 60HH plunges and the cup depth on the 60HH is much closer to what I normally wear. I really dislike bras that feel like they’re trying to hold me in too close to my chest, the Comexim half cup is kind of like that for me. I figured out the size to order originally by looking at measurements on here, not going just two cups up (although I think they worked out the same at the time).

bridget_megan Comexim plunges have generous immediate projection at the wire which I find quite uncommon outside Polish bras. This would mean that the cups usually hold more volume than other brands despite similar measurements; and if you're fuller on bottom or have short roots, it could be why there isn't enough volume to fill up the tops even if on paper the depth and width seems like it would work.
The fact that the 60HH 3HC fits you well tells me that sizing down at least a cup would be an equivalent volume as the 3HCs are shallower.
Did you get this from Breakout Bras? They're very good with exchanges or returns so you might want to see if you can try a smaller size to make sure as alterations can get complex quickly. Comexims can be tricky to fit but once you nail it, it opens up new worlds!

bridget_megan I’m not saying that’s what you did; obviously I wouldn’t know that. I was responding to what aogg said happened to her. It’s just a pattern I’ve noticed, and I’ve fallen for it too.
To me it looks like there’s plenty of room to size down even considering depth, but feel free to try the alterations if you really want to. It could work, I just think sizing down is much easier.

Sheena ya agreed I have definitely noticed the pattern! Before I tried to size down I was already on forums asking about alteration suggestions as I just could not believe I would need to wear a smaller cup :p.
In the end I sent a bunch of fitting photos to Joanna who bluntly told me I should be wearing 65H for all plunges (smaller cup). From the source itself and she was right. Everything I ordered in that size fit perfectly and I didn't need alterations which I've heard can be a pain to nail.
So I definitely concur that it's the easiest route if it works. In any case, bridget_megan it's best to size down until there are little to no gaps and if you still need alterations it's easier to tweak from there.
P/s: even when I was wearing 2 cup sizes too big and the cups were gaping on top, I still felt like everywhere else fit great! I was surprised to find that I could go two cups smaller!

aogg That’s an interesting point about the immediate projection. I was trying to pay attention to what the other measurements might say about the shape of the cups but I can picture how the immediate projection might not come through in just the measurements list. I definitely have short roots so I feel like that’s probably is making the fit issues worse too. Also just to be clear, the fit of the 60HH half cup isn’t *perfect* but it’s pretty close. The wires tend to dig in some and it does feel more shallow than I like. It’s almost enough to make me want to size up but I don’t want the cups to get taller. I have definitely heard of people wearing a smaller size in the plunge than the 3HC though, I think I just really wasn’t expecting the plunge to be so tall!
This was bought direct from Comexim so there’s no returns but I’ll list it on here once I get around to it.

Sheena Sorry I think I was trying to respond to both of you at once when I first commented, I wasn’t trying to correct you or anything. I didn’t take your comment personally and I hope you didn’t with mine either!

bridget_megan No worries, I didn’t take it personally. :) It does get confusing when you’re replying to multiple people at once!

This is my experience too. I am around a 32G or 34FF, and Comexim 75HH fits me fine.
Two cups up in Comexim should not be given as blanket advice. It just leads to people thinking they need all kinds of alterations that (not coincidentally) all make the cup volume smaller instead of just sizing down. Maybe for very full on top or tall shapes it could be necessary.
