Bra fitting help » Wires are poking me under the arms

Issue resolved
I sold it because I didn’t want to alter the bra and risk ruining it
Original problem
Really my only issue is the wire length! I can feel them under my arms. There is a tiny bit of wrinkling on the cup (more noticeable on my smaller boob). The gore is a bit too wide, I’m very close set. It’s sort doing a thing where one side of it turns onto the breast tissue of one boob. The band fit good but I do feel like I could wear it on tighter sets of hooks. It seems to sit in my IMF. I did take a pic after I took the bra off but wasn’t sure if I should upload that or not. If it weren’t for the wire length, I could wear this bra. So what size should I be trying?

helpfulLooks like on your bra review you got lots of info on replacing or shortening the wire. Seems like a good option as I do not think that a different size of this bra will give you want you want - like the small thing of no pain in the underarm while still providing such a lovely fit. I know that the first time I cut into a bra, I had anxiety about damaging the bra beyond all repair. Replacing a wire is the least invasive technique I do with a bra and I have turned a painful bra into a bra that I could wear all day long.
If you love everything else about the bra or can't return it, replacing or shortening the wire is a pretty straight-forward alteration.
Good luck!

jazzypants I do have one question, is it better to just remove and shorten the wires or to replace the wire? If you replace them, where do I look for them? I’m nervous. I am not someone that can sew lol

I have removed wires from old bras that worked well for me. Someone on your review talked about shortening which seemed very feasible and more precise for the channel width and cut of the bra. I have looked into purchasing wires but found that measurements online were not in abundance, and it seemed too risky for my size. Others may have better experiences on buying new.
I do not think that it matters with shortening, scavenging, or buying new as long as the wire is the right length and width for what you need. I go with what I have on hand, otherwise the bra will languish in a bin!

True! Good point jazzypants ! I’m probably better off just shortening the wire as opposed to buying new.

For sure! Give it a go.
Thank you!!! This is good to know! I will give this a try!! :)
