Issue resolved
Returning bra and ordering other sizes to try.
Original problem
Top of cups is too open (too big?). I sized up a cup size because Breakout Bras said the cups run 2 sizes small. The center wires come up too high and push against breast tissue, so it doesn’t tack. Very snug fit in band, but it feels likely to stretch some.
The wires feel like the correct width for me as there is no breast tissue under them on the sides. The straps seem like the start too far to the sides in the front. If they were a bit more toward the center, I think there would be less issues with the cups.
I am kinda at a loss on what bras to try next. My breasts come very close together about halfway up my chest (mid point when the girls are supported). I can barely fit my pinky in between them at that point. I believe they are splayed, projected, and somewhat bottom full. Average to narrow roots. Maybe tall roots?
The biggest three issues I keep running into are: gore too high/sitting on tissue even in “plunge” styles, wires running too wide/high on the sides, and wrinkling at the bottom of the cups once I have wiggled to get the wire into my IMF.
Trying to ease back into bra life from being in sports bras/bralettes. I’ve been wearing softcup/wireless bras mostly at this point. In these styles I don’t have to worry about the center gore, but I’m still getting better support than I was. I have another fitting help request wearing an Elomi Charley in 36J. I’ve tried many bras in 36J UK at this point, including: Freya Fancies Plunge (gore on tissue), Curvy Kate lifestyle plunge (gore on tissue, wires too wide), Curvy Kate top spot balcony (wires and straps too wide, gore on tissue), Curvy Kate Wonderfull full cup bra (gore on tissue, wires too wide), Goddess Kayla Full Figure underwire (way too wide, gore too wide/high), Elomi Kim and Matilda plunge styles (wires too wide/high on side, gore sits on tissue).

helpfulHmm, did you use the converter app? After size HH, a person should go up 3 cup sizes when ordering from Breakout Bras. From what I've read: gaping at the cup doesn't necessarily mean that the cup is too big - it's counterintuitive, but the cup could actually be too small!! Hah!!
If your correct UK size is 36:13 (36J) the app gives 36KK/L when ordering from Breakout Bras.
This bra could just be the wrong shape for you though. I'm okay in Comexim's Basic Padded Plunge (I'm FOB, center-full, short roots, narrow roots, and projected), but I've never tried on their Ginger Plunge, but I think their Ginger Plunge wouldn't be projected enough for my shape (I'm just guessing...)
Here is a link to the conversion app that some [awesome person] made. http://comeximcalc.herokuapp.com/
Going up two cups sizes worked for me, but it's my understanding, since Comexim uses 2 cm per cup size (instead of 1 inch = 2.54 cm, like everyone else uses)
D= go up 1 cup
FF= go up 2 cups
HH= go up 3 cups.Hope that helps! Gorgeous bra though - it looks nice!

Oh, okay..my mistake, this is the same cut as their standard padded plunge cut. I was thinking of this bra https://www.bratabase.com/browse/comexim/ginger-plunge-bra-365/ which they call their "low plunge cut." The second bra, CMJASMIN, looks like it fits better, but maybe it's just the materials.
I have some mild gaping on my smaller side in their Padded Plunge cut, but it fits my larger side fine.

No worries. That’s very confusing to have the names so similar, but I see they are quite different bras. I do think the two colors fit about the same. I may have just done a better job scooping and swooping immediately before the pictures for one.

Becauseihaveto42 , addendum: I just read from Juana Tango (mod over on the Facebook "A Bra That Fits" group), "Gaping isn't necessarily a sign of too large unless it's all over gaping. It's actually a sign of insufficient projection which might mean needing to size up a cup or get a different shape."
I'm still learning myself about bra shape/size...so this is a little bit the blind leading the blind...I just know what works for me in Comexim (sort of).
Hope that helps!

helpfulI'm thinking you may do well in Comexim - that is, if you do like the overall 'feel' of this bra, what about wire firmness? I've heard people in your size range consider their construction - mainly the wires - too flimsy.
What I guess you would benefit from is their custom alterations, when ordered directly.
That may be a bit of a puzzle / gamble but helps many people find a good fit in the end.Your pictures and measurements seem to indicate a lack of depth, but some excess height in this bra.
So for example if you were to ask for added depth at the wire (2 cm.), moved in straps (3 cm.), and slightly lowered cups (2 cm.), I'd think your fit would turn out way better!Maybe size up to a 80O (or P? Not sure) because moving in the straps will probably make the fit slightly smaller. The added depth may even that out though but I haven't personally tried this alteration.

This is very helpful! Thank you! I reached out to Breakout Bras to see if they have any suggestions. I was hoping that Comexim would be the magic bullet since I keep running into issues with wide wires. Looks like I need to keep trying other styles from them, perhaps. I also tried on the padded plunge Jasmine Comexim Comexim (CMJASMIN) from them and it seemed identical.
