Bra fitting help » Bra looks like it fits, feels tight?

Issue resolved
I think I'm going to size up to 55HH/60H in the same half cup style.
Original problem
Does this fit? It looks like it fits but it squishes my breasts, if you look closely at the angle shot, the breast tissue looks kinda pushed down. To me, at least. Feels too shallow, I need more projection, I think. I just wonder if I size up to 55HH, will it fix the issue? Or would that be too big? My leaning bust is 34.4 (approx.), standing is 33.6 and with the bra on, the bust measurement was 33. Is that normal?
I'm really confused. (This issue applies to the other 2 3HCs I have but I didn't wanna make a fit issue post for all 3)
Thanks!

helpfulI think what's happening here is that your firm breast tissue and this padded bra are clashing a bit. In essence: the bra isn't molding to the shape of your breast but neither is your breast molding to the shape of the bra. It very well may be a bit small or shallow for you in the cup, but it looks to me like your breast tissue is too firm to quad for a slightly too small or shallow cup.
Ultimately, fit assessments come down to how comfortable you are in the bra. I think you could probably get away with it, but I think a size up would be worth trying if you want to, especially because it looks like you have tall roots and could handle any added height the next size up might add on. The same goes for the band.
As for the measurement stuff--yeah, I'd say that's normal. By nature, bras squish your boobs into your chest a bit. How much they do so depends on a lot of factors like projection, tissue density, etc.

I think I see what she means about tall roots - you have a lot of breast tissue that goes up all the way to your collar bone - but its probably not what you think of as your breast. I assume more closed styles cut in on you?
-
dbmamaz I feel like that's muscle (I workout) but maybe it's breast tissue, I don't know. All I know is, there's barely any of it. All my breast tissue that will go into a bra is concentrated 3 inches-ish around the nipple.

helpfulI would consider this to fit, yes!
Looks good on you!Part of a 'fit' comes down to personal preference though.
Personally, I'm used to (and prefer) bras 'squishing' me - at least somewhat. If that's different for you, a 55HH might be worth a try!
When ordering directly from Comexim you could also ask them to lower the cups very slightly (1 cm or so), thus effectively creating a 'half size' (:
Or, another option, ask them for added depth in a 55H!

bubblegum I absolutely do not prefer any squishing with any bras :') I'm used to the freedom and breathing room with bralettes and as I've more recently discovered, unlined bras. I do like how narrow the 55H wires are so, maybe I also try a plunge in 55H? I've heard that they're less shallow. Or I could size up and ask for narrower wires, if they do that. I remember reading that they don't reduce cup height with half cups, I'm not sure, I could be wrong but the height was not a problem, apex projection was. Hmm stuff to think about, thanks!
-
Comexim used to have a few unlined bras - do they still?
-
dbmamaz yes, they still do them. They're called balcony bras on the site.
-
MeeM_13 see how much comes down to personal preference? I'm the literal opposite, dreading -any- gaps or wrinkles in my bras (:
I think most bras are actually made with at least *some* squish / compression in mind, keeping the breast tissue closer to the chest (which helps with support, being a bra's main function overall). That may also explain why your circumference measures smaller in this bra.
Which could also be part of why you struggle with sort of being 'in between' sizes? The bra / manufacturer on average expecting you to want more squish?
Which is completely up to you to decide what you feel comfortable in, of course! Just extrapolating / analyzing some possible causes of the struggle with sizing and dimensions that you've been experiencing.

helpfulI wonder if you should try 60H in a padded plunge (different style). From now on, I'm suggesting that people sister-size up in the band for first trying out Comexim. I sister size up to 32 band, and then I wear a 30 band in Ewa Michalak. It is a pretty bra.
I'm just guessing, but I think Comexim's plunge style might suite your shape better. 60H is one band up, and one cup up. https://www.bratabase.com/browse/comexim/basic-plunge-bra-170/60H/ They make both a padded plunge, like the one I just mentioned, and also some of their "balcony bras" are in the plunge style as well. Like this one, Comexim's Karen and Comexim Bianca.
You could always hold on to the 3HC bras temporarily, then when you find a better fit you could list them. Hope that helps!
Edit: or maybe 60H would be too big in Comexim Padded Plunge, since [from what I've heard] their 3HC's are "more shallow" and you should try out 60G in Comexim PP. Here is a good review comparing the 2, although the writer states that 60G fits like 28E and 60H fits like 28F https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dl5ch/
so maybe 60G would be a starting place in their padded plunge, that would be a sister size of 26F. Only speculating here.Edit: according to theIrishBraLady on Instagram, 26E/F is the same size as Audrey Hepburn - one of my style icons!! She did a recent post "Celebrity Bra Sizes Debunked" p. 6 https://www.instagram.com/p/CQHCPcRHKeJ/

BraOdyssey Thanks for the suggestion! The measurements for the 60G plunge looks pretty good, cups are too tall but that can be reduced. I'll try that out once I feel like trying comexim out again. :) I kinda really have my eyes on 26F Katherine Hamilton, it really looks perfect from the measurements. https://www.bratabase.com/browse/katherine-hamilton/sophia-bra/26F/ maybe when I'm ready to spend a bit more money :')
Edit- my insta sucks at showing me new posts, thanks!

If honestly feel like they are too tight, maybe list them? No need to keep as a torture device, plus will free up some $ for new purchases?

MeeM_13 one further thought regarding these bands though. I've read that thin people often need to "size up" in their band for comfort (although KH bands are pretty stretchy? So, I don't think you'll need to size up in KH, her website says the opposite, I believe) Anyhoo, thin people often size up b/c they have less cushion/less fat and it feels painful to them to have too tight of a band.
well, it probably feels painful to all of us, lol. But I remember when I was thinner (like, in college) and having a too tight bra band was sooo painful.

Just to chime in on the Katherine Hamilton: yes she makes gorgeous bras (and an excellent size range for small bands) but do keep in mind her gores come up notoriously high!
Just an FYI, as you've mentioned you don't like tall gores. Can't stand them myself and they can definitely be a dealbreaker.
-
Yeah, I'm actually not a huge fan of KH. And I am quite verbal about it (I can't help myself...) I have a lot of issues with her business. I mean, she's a businesswoman, she's not a designer. (but for $200, can a 26H be a 26H? )
Even on her website, https://katherinehamilton.com/bra-fitting-guide/katherine-hamilton-bra-size-chart/, it says,"Bra fitters report that typically when they fit a customer for the first time she is likely to go down in the back and up in the cup and end up with a much better fit!" So, in other words, a 28H is a 26HH. So basically she's Panache sizes. 34H, 36G, 38F...yes, those are "bigger sizes" but her designs seem to run small in each cup, so what sizes are they really?
She basically designs bras for *the easiest people to design bras for* 26HH is not that big. The least amount of fabric...the most amt of profits. Her sizing is not consistent. It seems like every bra style is different. Her designs don't flatter a women's nature breast shape, I've only seen really "sad boob" profiles. High stabby gores, Iike you said. I've seen a lot gaping on the top of the cup, wrinkling on the side of the cup..I could go on. She uses silk, I get it...but all the other problems. For what she charges, it's way too much. If it doesn't fit, it's not worth even $40.
True large cup is like J, K, L. Bravissimo or Ewa Michalak.
I find another article on where to find small bands https://www.thebreastlife.com/blog/small-band-bras-where-to-find/

bubblegum true true, I was thinking about the high gores too. I was wearing my Cleo meg today and I wasn't necessarily uncomfortable but I was conscious of it plus, had to adjust it twice in a few hours (a bit too wide) Well, there goes another bra dream. Back to the complicated world of comexim.
-
BraOdyssey wow, really enjoying that KH rant, such passion :') Good thing other brands exist, huh?
-
MeeM_13 , well, it just irritates me that every time someone posts "I am a 26 band, where can I buy ABTF?" on the ABTF forum, someone will respond and *make it sound like* the only option is KH, when it really isn't. If you look at PetiteCollegiate's profile https://www.bratabase.com/@petitecollegiate/bras/?page=2 she wears 26, 28, 30...
There are other places that make 26 bands..okay, most are custom order. KH is a brand to consider. However, from what I've seen, it's unlikely to work out. So, just to save yourself the time, $, frustration...too bad there aren't more really cheaper used bras you could just try on for size. Would eliminate some of this back and forth.

MeeM_13 , this lady wears kind of close to your size! In Comexim at least. Here are all of her reviews https://brogwithadog.wordpress.com/tag/comexim/
-
BraOdyssey aw, thanks! Helpful and very entertaining! I just kept reading them for humour's value. Also, I'm gonna get me some 55HHs (just confirming and doing some bra maths) so, fingers crossed!!
-
Okay...yeah, it looks like she wears 30E, 30DD. UK Anyway, her band measurement is 29" , so not anywhere near yours...
she does just wear the plunge style though. Also, I found this blog https://stackdd.com/page/5/ she does have some comexim and other Polish bras (Ewa Michalak) reviews. I think this is the same blog as the Petite Colligate, this lady https://www.bratabase.com/@petitecollegiate

bustyand Very interesting! I measured myself in a 28DD meg cleo and the bust measurement with the bra on was 34. So, for a lined bra to have a measurement smaller than my bare standing bust is weird af to me. Also, you think I have tall roots? I'm shocked, honestly. I always thought I had short roots as my breasts are conical. Even if they're tall, I think they're functionally short as any tall cup will create gaping. My breasts are firm, indeed, maybe that's why it won't really quad, hmm. The band is actually quite comfortable when worn turned around, it just feels tight when I wear the bras properly. Well, thanks a lot! I'll think about a bigger size! (why is comexim sizing so complicated tho??)
