Bra fitting help » Too shallow? Looks okish but feels awful
Curvy Kate » Lifestyle Plunge Bra (CK5711) » 30D 30:4
Motivated by earlier feedback here, I decided to give Curvy Kate another try. My size is closer to a 28DD but not many CK models come in this size, so I gave 30D a try. I really like the looks of the Lifestyle Plunge but unfortunately it does not quite fit... The main fit issue is that the bra moves down in the front and I hope someone can help me troubleshoot and understand what I should look out for in the future. I can see a couple of potential reasons: The band is definitely too large. It fits firm but I can pull it away a bit too much from my body. The bigger issue is though that the cups seem too shallow. There seems to be some wrinkling in the bottom of the cups. Other issues include me not filling out the top of the cups due to being FOB and some nipple chafing/the mesh fabric being a bit itchy.

helpfulI actually do think it is a bit too shallow. When an unlined bra is too shallow, it creates that wrinkling on the side (inner or outer) because your breasts are pushing it to the limits, projection-wise. The band is obviously too loose but you know that. I'm not sure curvy Kate unlined bras as for you, in general. They lack projection in the "smaller" sizes, they usually require FOT and center full shapes, which I don't see often in smaller sizes anyway so, why would they design their bras like that?
Just by looking at the fit of this bra, it LOOKS mostly okay. Only things I'd suggest are a shorter cup height, more projection, tighter band, avoiding CK (up to you, I just think most of their bras wouldn't suit your shape).
Good luck!

Horstersen I was just gonna say that the Cleo meg I have is projected enough for me then, I realised that 1) It's discontinued 2) The Cleo lily is basically the same thing!
I think the Cleo lily could work for your shape and it is fairly projected even in smaller sizes, I don't have any other suggestions, unfortunately :( Lemme know when you know because I've been looking for something with more projection too!

Thanks MeeM_13 , I might try to find the Lily then... I tried it a while ago in 30C and was massively spilling out at the top (and folding the top of the cup along the little lace insert window if you know the bra), but maybe I can find a 30D or even 28DD somewhere...

Horstersen makes sense, 30C would to be too small for you. Hopefully, 28DD/30D could work out better for you! :)

Horstersen EDIT- sorry, I totally forgot that the lily is discontinued too! Hettie and Marcie are close enough replacements.
-
MeeM_13 No worries :) Afaik the Marcie is discontinued as well. I managed to find a Meg in 30D on ebay though and will report back once it arrives.

Cool! I love ebay for discontinued items! You got lucky, huh? Definitely lemme know!
(Also, I just looked on the website and I did see Marcie (balconnet)) -
Thanks for the heads-up about the Marcie! I don't have high hopes since it does not come in my size, but you never know...

helpfulI've experienced the same chafing and itch from some unlined/mesh bras but not with others. If you're able to find out the type of lace/mesh you could make note of it and try to avoid it in the future. I had a few Freya styles that were so bad I couldn't wear them for more than an hour. I considered pasties or sewing some material into the bra but it wasn't worth the effort for me.

helpfulThis bra is the wrong size. Panache Ana plunge bra might work you in 28ff. This brand runs a cup size too small. The 30 band is too big for you. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Thank you for the feedback! You were mostly confirming my suspicion, but it is always good to hear it from someone else as well. Do you happen to know any brand that does not lack projection in the smaller sizes? :\
