Got rid of the bra
Original problem
The gore is very comfortable. There’s wrinkling at both cups, and it seems a little pointy. The wires for the larger boob seem to be too narrow, such that it’s pressing against my side boob. Overall I quite like this bra, just that I think it might not be suitable for my shallow breasts.

helpfulThis looks like a shape mismatch for you, and also the wrong size. Because it’s got an altered band the straps and cup sit way too wide on your body because the bra is designed for someone more broad.
It’s hard to tell what size might work for you without a laying perimeter. If you really do measure at 9 in, you must be very wide set. Fortunately there are bras wider and shallower in tight 28 bands out there, and they would probably work better for you than this frankenbra. Bras to look out for include Change lingerie, panache’s and Cleo’s molded cups, and Mimi Holliday, all in 28F.

helpfulIMHO there are several coincidental issues. First, it's worn too low. Tried to pull on the gore and bring the wires where they belong, right at the base not lower?
Then increase the straps tension a few notches. Probably the cups are too deep and compress instead of leveraging the breasts. If possible, I'll also try to cross the straps, kind racer at the back. Usually superior scooping and less compression ensues.
And finally, this looks like an almost new, unworn item. Bras need quite a few hours of run-in before scooping reaches it's full extend. I'll be glad to know the outcomes, please keep posted, have a glorious day !

Actually after wearing it on a few more times, it seems to me that the gore is too high and wide, and also cups are too tall and shallow.
