Bra fitting help » Almost perfect cups, way too big band. Exchange for 28FF?

Issue resolved
Ordered a 28FF. Thanks everyone!
Original problem
So close to fitting! The cups are just about perfect, though there’s a little gapping on my smaller breast. I would definitely keep this bra if the band wasn’t for sure too big. Because the cups fit perfectly, should I exchange for a 28FF because it’s the same cup volume? I still feel like I can’t possibly be a FF cup because of my smaller breast. This bra is a much better fit than the Deco, which was moulded. Any advice for what sizes/brands/styles/etc to try next? Thanks!

helpfulYes! Try a 28FF! The extra band tension might also help the gapping on the small side. The patsy band is known to be big.

helpfulI can't quite tell if the cup width is too wide for you or not and if the wire is firmly in your IMF. You'll have to let us know on that. Check your skin markings.!
It does seem that the straps are too widely spaced for your frame. You may find that a bra cup hugs you better when the straps are more centered. I had this bra in a 28D and found that to be the case. I tacked down the center of the bra to the gore to structurally move the straps closer together and get a better fit.
It would be nice to see you in a 26 inch band to have a better idea of fit though perhaps a 28FF on a tighter hook would do the trick as I do find this model was spot on for being a 28 band. Once you have your size down it is hard to go back to a too large band!
In regards to breast size variance, I use a cookie or small foam bra pad in all my bras for my left side. I fit the right breast and ignore the left until I get home and find the correctly sized cookie to hand-sew into the left cup.

Are you adjusting your boobs in the bra once you fasten it and turn it around?

Calluna yep! What I do is fasten it, turn it around, bend over, shimmy it up so that all my breast tissue gets in the cups, pull the straps up, scoop & swoop, then adjust the underwire a little.
jazzypants the cup was a little wide for me but not nearly as wide as some I’ve had before — there was only a tiny bit of gap on the sides near where the cup meets the strap. I did notice that this bra sits about a quarter inch or so below my IMF, as does another bra of mine (the pink Parfait Charlotte which I’m not positive I have pictures of on my profile - though I do have the bra listed - sorry!). Does that indicate an overlarge band or another issue? The straps on the majority of my bras are at least a little too wide, but these weren’t bad. I am exchanging this size for a 28FF, so we’ll see how a 28 on the tightest hook fits! I’ve always “cheated” and fastened my bras in the front and turned them around, so although it’ll be a little more difficult to get used to, I am excited to hopefully get a bra that’s properly tight enough for me not to be able to do that. I ordered a few 28 band exchanges for the bras I got from Bravissimo, so based on how those fit I may try a 26. Would a racerback J-hook help bras whose straps are too wide, or should I first try to solve it by finding bras whose straps fit without needing a hook? Thanks so much for your help!
