Bra fitting help » Indentation at seam but no quadboob. Need more depth or nonissue?

Issue resolved
It’s not me, it’s the bra! The way this bra is sewed causes more tension on the seam than on the fabric. The in-cup quadding may also be partly because I have soft tissue.
Original problem
I just received this 28FF, which was very kindly sent to me by another user. My 28F Marcie is far too small in the cup, so I had hoped that one size up would fix my severe quad-boobing/squished boobs. This seems to fit very well other than one issue: with my bigger breast, I do not have quad-boobing on top, but I am experiencing an indent at the seam — I tried to get the best picture I could find. I think that the indent — which does cause a sort of tiny quadboob, just not in the top of the cup — points to slightly insufficient depth in the cup for me. It basically flattens my boob in that area. When I scoop and swoop bent over at 90°, I get definite quadboob with my bigger side, but it goes away when I stand back up. I think if I sized up in the cup I might not fill out the top, since I’m short-rooted and functionally full on bottom. Does this issue warrant trying 28Gs in other bras, or should I stick with FF cups? I don’t plan to get a third Marcie — I’m just hoping to use this as a diagnostic for the size itself. Thanks in advance for everyone’s help!

helpfulThus is called in cup quadding and is very common with soft tissue. From what I can see, it looks good. I’m worried a 28G will be too big, but it’s certainly worth trying it. Just keep in mind that the Nude Marcie is a different fit from other colours, so for fit diagnostics, I’d suggest sticking to 28G in nude.

helpfulThis is a known issue with this bra. When the seam is sewed it’s tensioned incorrectly so it’s tighter than the fabric. The straps pulling up from this seam just exacerbated this effect. It’s not a fit issue in this case, more of a bra design or sewing error. I believe it’s worse in some colorways than others.

cupandahalf huh! I would literally never have thought of that. What an odd issue for a bra to have. But good to know it’s not a me problem. Thank you!
