Bra fitting help » It's too big, but fits my roots fine. Any recommendations please?
Bali » Lace Desire Back Smoothing Underwire Bra (1002) » 34D 34:4
I know the bra is too big in the cups, but it's great for my wide roots. Does anyone know what I should be looking for based on these pictures?

helpfulThis does look too big, but not by much. Wrinkles at the gore can have a few reasons, including not enough immediate depth. In your case, it might be that the bra is too big, too projected, or the gore is not right. A 9” cup depth on this seems accurate, as my older 32DD and 30E bras were about the same (and they are sister sizes). I’m suspecting from your fit check pictures that you might be wide and shallow, so you might be ok with Cleo Jude/Koko/Maddie/Lexi. I think your roots are taller so you need something that is more open on top. Freya half cups might work. Natori Feathers is popular. Chantelle and Passionata (sister brand to Chantelle) tend to have wide cups.

helpfulHow confident are you in your measurements? I ask because as Calluna stated, the cups don’t look that small, but if your Horizontal perimeter is 7.5” and the cup depth is 9.6”, those cups should be gaping with 2.1” of extra space.
So…. based on photos and factoring in your rib measurements, I would suggest looking at 30 bands instead of 34 bands. Based on the fit of the cup on this 34D, I would say try looking for 30DD/E/DDD depending on the brand and style. If the 30 bands feel too tight at first (it can take some time getting used to a correct band after wearing loose ones) you can also try a 32 band which would be better than the 34s for sure. If going with a 32 band, try 32D/DD/E depending on the brand and style.
You can typically find a good amount of variety on Amazon, usually with free/easy returns so it’s a good starting point. Depending on where you are located (both Country and general area) you can also look for local specialty lingerie shops &/or bridal shops which both tend to stock the less common 30 bands. It is always best to try a variety of styles (half cup, plunge, etc) and brands to get a better idea of which ones work and don’t work for your shape.

helpfulI think the band is entirely too big on this bra and you should be looking for more like 30DD or 32D bras. You definitely do not have a 34" ribcage. The majority of bras on the market are wide wired and shallow - I'd point you in the direction of Cleo Maddie, easily available on Amazon.

I'm wide and shallow and have the same horizontal perimeter as you and a few inches larger underbust and this bra fits me in 34B. It's not made in 30 bands so seeing that your laying perimeter is 8.3 I would suggest trying it in 32D and see how that works.
