Bra fitting help » It doesn't feel right
Panache » Idina Balconnet Bra (6961) » 30DD 30:5
It seems like it fits, but it feels awkward. I always wear Panache Porcelain and Idina, but not in the unlined model. I can't tell if this fits or not...it feels okay, but it looks bad to me. I feel like it looks pointy rather than uplifted.

helpfulThis does seem like a bra not cut for your shape. It does look awkward and I am having a hard time saying why. The too-wide straps seem uneven in length and distorting the cup. The cups appear too closed off for your tall roots. It would be interesting for you to try a bra with a band length to fit, open cups with projection, narrow straps and gore. I am not good at listing brands and cuts but perhaps the measurement aspect of this site or other members could help you in suggesting alternatives. Where does the wire sit in relation to your IMF?

I never realized how "wide" the straps are on me. Looking at it objectively, they definitely look too wide. I can't say I've ever found a bra that somewhat fits where the straps aren't quite far apart though.

I did have a look at you in other bras before I posted and I have to agree with you that the bras listed did not show a good fit for you. They tended towards wide shallow bras sitting well below your IMF and not demonstrating good support in the midline because of that - also the wide straps and limited projection are prevalent.
I know when I first realized how poorly fitting my 32B and 34A bras were for me, it took some time to understand the construction of a bra and how they fit on my sub-32 torso. Tighter band and bigger cup for your girls should amaze you with the fit that you get instead of the pancake bras that you have listed right now. If you have boobs, there is a bra that will fit you. Your shape does not seem like a unicorn to me! Patience and enlarging your understanding of what fits well is necessary. I do think that you need to branch out into other brands that carry at least a 28 band with narrower, open cups or be willing to shorten a band with cups that are appropriate for you. I found that unlined bras give a clearer picture of fit and have the potential for more projection.

helpful1. When you take your bra off, you see marks left by the wires, right? Where are those marks on the sides? Are they laying on the breast tissue or encapsulating each breast perfectly?
2. I have an impression that you overtightened the straps of the bra. Have a look at pic #3. Your breast tissue is forced to lay flat. Try loosening the straps, it might help with quadding on your right side.

I loosened the straps, but it just made the tops of the cups wrinke.
My tissue is ridiculously jiggly. There's no firmless left in the girls, so I'm trying to find bras that can support and shape. That right cup just cuts into flesh, though...As awkward as it looks in the photo, this is a comfortable bra that doesn't look bad at all under clothing. It is very uplifting, it's just not "shaping" as I'd hoped it would, based on my success with Porcelain and Idina balconet.
Do I need wider cups or narrower? I am very confused.

What about questions 1 and 3?

The band is great and the wires seem to encapsulate the tissue. The bras does not move throughout the day, which is a great thing for me. After a few wears, the cups aren't digging in as much. I think they stretched out. I wish I knew of other bras with this cut.

It looks like this bra is a liiiitle bit too projected at the apex, so maybe try something a tiny bit shallower, more open on top or with stretchy upper section. I can recommend Curvy Kate Ellace, just go one cup size down because it's really projected. Don't try Florence out (a similar cut) as it's really closed on top and it'll definitely cut in because you have tall roots.
Their padded balconettes might work for you, since they are open on top and the cups are on the shallower side.

Thank you so much for your help! The wire is exactly in my IMF. Now I'm wondering if my Porcelains and Idinas ever fit me as well as I thought they did! They are the closest I've come to a "fit" in all these years. Either I'm looking in all the wrong places, or I'm unfittable.
