Bra fitting help » too small?
Savage X Fenty » Baby Scalloped Lace » 36D 36:4
Issue resolved
when that many people tell you to try an F cup, it's enough to persuade.
Original problem
I feel 36D should work but I have spillage in this bra (and most of my bras) in the larger breast.
Is balconette a bad design for me? I don't like the way the underwire feels. Usually underwires go up higher on the sides, and lower in the middle on the sternum.
Do I need to try a DD? I don't believe the right breast is big enough for DD. She is almost an inch smaller when I measure each separately.

helpfulLooks like you need to step out of the big box bras into a *gasp* F cup. Totally agree that a 34 band would give you more support. I think that you will be pleasantly surprised with your profile, support, and coverage for the girls in something closer to a 34F. From just this example in a poorly fitting balcony bra, you might want to try something else rather than a balcony bra as they lean towards wide and shallow with wide set straps - all which are not the best for you! Good luck with some shopping for a different bra!

helpfulJust want to add that if you have a problem with asymmetry to the point that you feel it make your bra fit poorly on one side (and this may vary with different bras), you can always try using a small insert with the smaller breast. You can find these at stores like JoAnn Fabrics or online at Amazon. Probably more comfortable to fit well on the big side and use a "cookie" to fill in the smaller side than be really smooshed on the big side.

helpfulMay I ask why you are trying a 36 band when you’re under bust measurements indicate that you should be trying a 34 band? Also, your horizontal perimeter is like a full inch smaller than the cup depth. You definitely need a bigger cup. At least one size, but I would bet it’s 2.

I thought if my individual breast perimeter was 10 (technically 10.5 larger breast) that I need to size down in cup diameter for smoosh factor.

Not generally. I’m mean, if you have softer tissue you might be able to go a little smaller and shaper of the bra wise you might be able to go a bit larger. I average my perimeters. Generally, I need 9.5-10” depth regardless of the size it comes from. My leaning perimeter is about 10” but I’m super soft and functionally full on bottom so I sometimes need a little bit smaller. Something that’s closed off on top I can get away with closer to 10” though.

helpfulI totally agree with Calluna and Jazzypants, you should try smaller band with bigger cups. Don't forget to scoop and swoop!

I will finally get out and try a 34f and other sizes like 36dd. I will even try a full coverage for once. You all convinced me. Hubby doesn't mind shopping anyways.

helpfuli agree with everyone else; you likely need to go down one band size and one-two cups. so try either a 34f or 34g, in my opinion at least

You guys were right

I'll have to do that. I ordered a lot of Freya 36D bras prior to this fit request. All from eBay at least.
The right gal fits in there fine. The lefty is out of control.
