Bra fitting help » Not sure about cup fitting

Issue resolved
I’ve realized that the bra caused a quad boob effect, so I’ve decided to return it while I’m on the search for the right size. I’ve also realized it’s not for my breast shale, as mentioned in one of the comments.
Original problem
Not sure if cup fits. The band seems ok since it’s new. It was a bit small on both cups when I’ve tried it during my period. Now, it’s not very noticeable.

helpfulI think it’s too small. I can’t quite tell, but it looks like the gore is floating, the cups have some spilling, and judging by your horizontal perimeter vs depth of the bra, it’s probably a cup size too small.

helpfulI do believe that you need a larger cup with more projection to support all your breast tissue. Breast tissue is squishing out the sides and the cup is cutting into the top of your breast. It looks like you are starting out on your "finding a bra that fits and flatters" quest. Good luck with that! Remember, go bigger in the cup than you think that you should and go slow with purchasing bras as the learning curve is steep and takes time as you learn about bra construction and the shape and actual size of your own breasts.

jazzypants Thanks for that point. I am definitely new to finding out my real size, and this journey is definitely interesting. For projection, what do you mean by that?

I agree that it looks a bit small, it takes a little experimenting, but you will start finding more and more things that are comfortable and look nice. One thing I would like you to do is look at "swooping and scooping", make sure you do it with both this bra and others, it will give make bras more comfortable, and help you find ones that actually fit.

"projection" is a term to describe how the cup is constructed at the base of the cup wire. To have more "projection" means that the cup has more fabric at the wire that extends away from the torso in front of you. This allows for more breast tissue to be supported where it needs it and not squished upwards and outwards like the Auden bra is doing to your breast tissue.
This style of bra I consider to be a molded pancake with little room at the base of the cup for breast tissue. Unlined bras will help give you a better idea of how your breasts behave and what they need for bra construction.

I agree. this is too small for you. This bra fits wide and shallow shapes best and has minimal projection at the wire. I fits me in 34B and my horizontal perimeter is 1" smaller than yours.

veggiechic Thanks for the “swoop and scoop” link. I need to do it more since sometimes I will forget to do it when I put on a bra.

thelittleone I’m still learning about breast shapes since I have no clue on exactly how to determine that even with reading many articles on such topic.

Calluna Thanks for the observation. I’ve realized that when I’ve done the swoop and scoop.
