Bra fitting help » Is my band too tight or cup too small?
Freya » Daisy Lace Padded Half Cup Bra (5133) » 32E 32:6
Issue resolved
I tried bigger bra cup sizes like F and FF. They fit better but I'm going to try a different bra style
Original problem
The band feels a little tight, but center gore lies down, which rarely happens in bras for me so the spacing is good. Other bras that are too tight or loose tend to press on my ribs too much, this one feels like it's pressing just a little.
Cups-
Fit almost exactly but smaller than I'm used to. not sure if I should go up one more. Also its a balconette but I'm not sure if thats good for my boobs.
I can exchange it for another one easily since its with prime wardrobe
PS
Never had a super well-fitting bra before so idk.

helpfulThe cup is definitely too small on you. Your breasts look crammed inside the cups--if you had softer tissue you'd probably have quite a bit of quadding. It's because of this that band feels tight--with the measurements you've entered, this size band should be fine or even a bit big on you.
It'd be helpful if you had your laying breast perimeter measurements to give more specific suggestions, but I'd say you need to go up at least two cup sizes. (PS: have you swoop and scooped?)

Also, just added other measurements!

Yeah, it's definitely daunting at first, and it's definitely frustrating not being able to go to the store and buy a bra. A 10.5 inch laying perimeter in a 9.5 inch depth bra would indicate to me to go up a cup size or two (which, I think, physically seeing this bra on you, two will probably be best). Give some 32FFs a try!

helpfulIn other brands you might prefer 34s but 32 should be just fine for you in Freya, which is known to be stretchy.
Echoing everyone else: the cup is WAY too small for you. Try to forget about your preexisting notions of what is a "big" or "small" cup size and bear in mind that the average person's notions about those are at least 30 years out of date, if not 40, and date back to a time when most everyday bras were nonwired (i.e. much more forgiving/flexible fit for most people). It sounds like you have been wearing 2-3 cup volumes too small most of your life since you report that the center almost never is able to sit flat on your body. Also it's possible I missed something from a previous post but I'm confused by other posters mentioning cup width being an issue (would be tough to tell in such an undersized cup!) or saying that you are "short rooted"--you report a vertical breast measurement that is just a half-inch less than your horizontal one, which represents a taller than average boob in this size range.
I don't know how this bra runs in cup width, but in your case I don't see any cause to worry even if your breast roots do tend to be a bit more on the narrow side anatomically. Too-narrow cups will cut into breast tissue so they are clearly a dealbreaker. On the other hand, while somewhat too-wide cups can cause an absolute mess on people with teeny tiny frames, you report a nice shoulder width of 13" and a tight underbust measurement that's over 30" -- taken together, these, and your photos, all suggest you have enough space on the front of your ribcage to allow you a lot more wiggle room in this regard. A cup that's an inch or two too wide will not fit as perfectly as one that's a closer match but may still be comfortable and look fine under clothes, and in something that's a half inch too wide you often won't even notice any issues.

helpfulFully hear you on the sticker shock of learning your true size! I went from wearing VS 36C "push-up" @ 16 y/o to a UK 32FF/30G at 21, to a 30J. (Many years later)
Have you figured out your breast shapes? So worth it as the community here is amazing with shape-specific recs.
I agree with all the comments re: cup size. Definitely size up at least 1-2 cup sizes. Agree that bands in Freya are stretchy and a 32 should work most people who wear up to 34 bands comfortably, so any band discomfort is probably due to cup size issues.
Also, many folx need to go up at least 1 cup size in padded half-up bras vs. unlined or lightly lined bras in the same brand.
If you are in the US, and it is safe to go in-store shopping in your area, I recommend Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, Macy's, Dillard's and Soma for trying bras on in the 32DDD+ / 34 DD range.

helpfulYou can use the calculator from abrathatfits to figure out your size and go from there. https://www.abrathatfits.org/calculator.php

helpfulBalcony style bras lean towards a shallow construction, so you might want to stay clear of that style. More projection at the wire and a larger cup are definitely needed. Congrats on joining the "yes, bras can be bigger than a D cup" club! I agree with the 32G suggestion, but watch the width of the wires. Good luck in finding bras that fit, are comfortable, and give the girls some awesomeness.

helpfulAgree with bustyand.
By the way I think this Freya bra can also be a shape mismatch for you, even though you size up to the right cup depth.First, just like jazzypants said, it is already too wide for you in 32E, if you size up, the cups will be wider. However, I don't think all the Balconette Bras are wide and shallow, for example: Cleo Marcie has a depth ratio around 1.8 in 32E, Ann Summers Sexy Lace Padded Balconette has a depth ratio of 1.75 in 32E(for a padded bra it's very deep).
Second, the ABTF calculator will probably give you a too small result, because you have a lot of center fullness and are a little bit omega-shaped (ABTF calculator only works well on round shape). According to the ABTF shape chart (https://bustyresources.fandom.com/wiki/Breast_shape?file=Breast_shape_guide.png), I guess you have the 3/5 FoT or 3/6 even shape. It will cause fit problem in ton of Freya/Fantasie/Wacoal bras, because most of them are only made for FoB or short rooted even boobs. If you love unpadded bras, you can try Cleo Marcie or any other brands/styles that have open cups or some with stretchy lace on the cup top, with a depth ratio bigger than 1.8 (you can browse on Bratabase by size, then click by measurements to find them). And don't forget to size up the cups.

helpfulI would return it and try some Curvy Kates in 34E/34F. I recommend Ellace because you are short rooted but full on top with an omega shape. If you can get both sizes at once that will help you compare. Ellace runs tight in the band.
Another option to try is Cleo Hettie in 32F/34F. Both of these are available via Amazon Prime Wardrobe.

I swoop and scooped, and I think you're right. It just feels weird to pick such a big cup size for a small band size, It feels wrong because its a rarer size and no physical store can do better than give me a 34DD 😪 but if I want it to fit, gotta look online
