Bra fitting help » Quadding/Gore Doesn’t Tack/Snug Band

Issue resolved
Going to try the bra in 2 sizes up.
Original problem
Major quadding, band is too snug, and gore doesn’t tack. I’m not sure if I should try a 85HH or an 85J next...what would you recommend? Does it look 1 or 2 sizes too small? Or could it maybe be a shape mismatch? I personally don’t think it is, but I am open to criticism/suggestions that it might not be a good shape match if you truly feel that way!

helpfulDo you have soft or firm tissue? If you have soft, I say up one cup--if you have firm, I say up two. I'm also wondering if the band just feels tight because the cups are too small. I don't know how you could test that (maybe hook the bra backwards and pull it up as far as you can under your breasts?), but you've entered here that the stretched band and your comfortable ribcage are the same, which could go either way honestly.

In that case, my suggestion is 85HH. I have soft tissue, and this looks closest to what one cup size too small looks like on me, but also just by looking, it looks like your tissue is at least a bit firmer than mine (I essentially have pudding boobs), so I can't be 100% positive!

Yeah I’m really on the fence, it seems soft and firm at the same time, if that makes sense? I think I might try the 85HH first and I can always return that and try the 85J if it’s still not enough. I just hate doing so many returns, I always get scared I’ll get banned from shopping from certain places for returning too many things!

helpfulI’d probably try 85J... it looks a couple of cups too small with the quadboob and lack of tacking and the wire placement on the side.

helpfulHmm, I don't know how many sizes up, but from picture #2 it looks like the underwire is on your breast tissue on the side, instead of encompassing it (as it ideally should).
Obviously, you've already recognized that you need to go up in the cup size - I'm not sure if 1 or 2 though - maybe someone else has a better idea! Sorry that wasn't much help!

I noticed that too about the wires after looking closer at the pictures! It’s weird, I think my right boob is wider than my left because I always notice that I have to adjust the sides on my other bras sometimes because I feel the wire sitting on tissue. Thanks for pointing that out!

Well, I think I noticed because it was doing the same thing on my Ewa Michalak bra -as far as - the cup fit better on my smaller side (right) than on my larger side (left). I noticed the underwire on my larger side wasn't encompassing all of my breast tissue, and kind of poked the larger breast tissue. And issue of cup size, but the shape (I believe) is fine for me.
-
What’s weird for me is that my smaller side is the side that has this issue! It’s like the extra heft to make it closer to size of the left one is all further back or something.

Oh, I see.

helpfulNote: I may have over-scooped in most of the front angled shots...the side shot is from my initial scoop and swoop, and the front shots are after scooping again because it felt like the cups were being pushed down by the weight.

I find that closer to 36” for the band fits more comfortably, not like to my full loose measurement, if that makes sense?
Honestly I’ve never thought about the density, but if I were to guess I’d say I have soft tissue.
