Bra fitting help » underwire lace rubbing. am I wearing it wrong?
Fantasie » Rebecca Spacer Moulded Bra (2024) » 36F 36:7
Issue resolved
Band was loose, tried different bra type and pulled bra down.
Original problem
The bra fits well. I went to a physical store of good repute and got sized there. But the lace on the underwire rubs my skin. Am I wearing it too high?
I'm not sure if I should return it

helpfulNope, just something that happens to some of us. And I do wish brands would stop putting lace there! My solution has been to wear a bra liner with my bras--I use Pambras. Otherwise, I have found a few bras that this doesn't happen to me in--Cleo Hettie Balconnet Bra (9011) Panache Olivia Balconnet Bra (7751) and Freya Wild Moulded Plunge Bra (5420)
The pictures are also making me think (perhaps falsely) that this bra's band is too loose for you and its gore too wide, but that's all I'll say about it if it's not bothering you.

helpfulCould the band possibly be too loose so it rubs your skin and causes chafing?

pretty_promise bananaboats when I tighten the band it feels too tight on the front/underwire. Maybe I need a bigger cup size again :(

hellolala That's possible--another reason why the gore could sit on breast tissue is because of the cup being too small.

helpfulAside from the band looking like it’s riding up in back in that side view I don’t see anything majorly wrong with the fit, but I see those marks from the lace on the band and I have to say “all the feels, I get those from lace on the bottoms of the cups too”. It’s a bit annoying sometimes but usually not painful or so annoying that I think twice before wearing the bra. If it’s comfy and you can get the band to stay put in a nice level position my instinct would be to keep it, but if the rubbing is uncomfortable then it’s probably not worth it - you can use that money and the space in your closet/ drawer/ etc for something that doesn’t hurt you.

That's what I was thinking. In the side profile, you can tell that the band is riding up the back. hellolala, if you loosen the shoulder straps so that the band fits lower (i.e., horizontal with the underwires at the front), does it stay put? If not, what if you fasten the band on the middle or smallest hooks?
Sometimes lace just rubs, of course, but I'd be curious how a slightly tighter band affects the overall fit and comfort of the bra.
