Bra fitting help » Poor construct or genuinely doesn't fit?
Curvy Kate » Lifestyle Plunge Bra (CK5711) » 32J 32:13
Issue resolved
I burned the bra and switched to Comexim - just kidding, about the burning part. The bra cups were definitely too far apart, maybe slightly small, and essentially functioned as sheer fabric covering my chest. I have consistently had scaling issues w curvy kate. Although their bras are extremely gorgeous I feel like they lack the proper construction necessary in order to actually support GG+ breasts. I think I will have better luck with Comexim and similar bras to the Panache Clara.
Original problem
I'm not sure if it's just shitty construction or the bra is just genuinely small. The wires were extremely painful and the gore wasn't tacking at all, I am also getting spillage. For the record I have close to ZERO upper fullness and have a really short breast root. I'm not really sure what to try next, I've been eyeing elomi Matilda but the measurements seem to be a bit contradictory in 32H-32J and 34H-HH

helpfulI think the curvy kate is too wide-set for you. Another person reviewed this exact same size and had a similar fit: https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dne6r/
If you click on the user you can see some of her bras. She ended up going for Ewa - I swear I'm half tempted to send you a few of my outgrown Ewas to see if they work for you - tho I'm losing weight and might want them back eventually!
FWIW the 32J Envy was awful on me, painful. But I loved Panache Floris and later Jasmine, but my boobs are low-set and tall

dbmamaz , what bra do you think is the most Ewa-esque? (narrow, projected) that can be bought pretty cheaply?
-
I've been out of the market a bit and things change - before I wore Ewas my faves were cleo marcie and panache floris, both of which have been discontinued. Panache Jasmine was my go-to when I was 32JJ, and in fact I just fit back in to my 32JJ jasmines. I have been wearing panache Tango - because a tango 32JJ fit me when was wearing 34K in ewas. But I think she is slightly less projected than I am maybe?
I am still thinking I want to just mail 3 bras I'm not wearing - a bralette that almost fit and actually gave support but makes me quad, my 75JJ - Ewa Michalak » S Granatowa Pantera (her lined bras run a cup small, but the band on this one was loose, unfortunately), and a 32JJ that is too shallow for me which I bought with 2 other used bras and never wore. And I'll just send them in a cheap envelope and she can keep what she wants.
The fact that comexim was painfully too narrow for her makes me think she wont fit some of the bras I fit - I'm omega shaped and have never had any wire on breast tissue.

also my boobs are low-set but tall. I can fill out the tops of almost every bra if its not too big. Not unaltered comexims of course

I'm not really sure if this helps but a year or so ago Panache Elsa in 30JJ was a pretty close fit minus the wires being crazy high and long. At my smallest - 28JJ - CK Portia was also close, at least in cup shape. The wires killed my sternum and the straps were too far apart. I wouldn't be able to wear either for more than half an hour though. I did try on my CK Victory again, another 32HH which was also too small so I definitely need 32J/30JJ, again. I'm pretty good with alterations at this point so as long as I can either get an extended or take the back in I'll be fine. Also thank you! dbmamaz
-
Is that why you like plunges, because the center wires dig in to your sternum?
-
dbmamaz That and I noticed that I usually don't have an issue with the cups don't up crazy high on me, I also just love how they look on me too 😅.
-
Sorry I meant that I usually don't have an issue with the cups coming up way too high lol dbmamaz

Simplypear , dbmamaz on reddit's ABTF forum, cleaningmama just linked this thread on another post https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/comments/kt6lfg/list_of_bras_with_immediate_projection/ Granted, anyone could post ideas online, so maybe some good suggestions, and some not-so-good. Hope that helps!

what about comexim unlined half-cups? It's my understanding they have the most immediate projection, yes???
I have one in the mail r.n. coming to me. -
BraOdyssey I did try the Unlined Tara HalfCup in 32O I think? The cups were expecting A LOT of upper fullness that I don't have and the straps were very far, I also couldn't get all of my boobs into the bra which lead to them getting trapped under the wire. I moved them in which fixed the cup gap issue but now the wires were unbearable
Ill post the bra here and link it. -
Simplypear , okay no worries...sorry it didn't work out for you : (
-
http://bra.pe/X5V2 Apparently something changed and the fit isn't nearly as abysmal? It could still have a bit less upper fullness but I'm not finding it to be digging or painful. BraOdyssey

oh no! I wonder if...there longlines are more shallow (or something)
I've read something to that affect
I will have to compare, when I get my new bra in the mail.
but I've noticed for some of the larger cup sizes, the criticim is that their unlined half cups are not supportive enough - I mean, they're made with soft fabrics and also with soft underwires, so I could kind of see that happening (unfortunately). -

The band is very snug so I'm able to get away with wearing it on the first row, it actually fits perfectly ? I've never been able to get a band to fit just right, they've always either been too tight or too loose lol
-
Simplypear , great news! I've heard that bra is quite comfortable? but I've not tried it myself.
-
I can't reàlly offer much input on the support because I'm used to bras basically doing me no favor. I will say that it seems to be holding me up and in, I actually get pretty decent cleavage, more than the CK Lifestyle and Panache Envy lol. For reference the size I got was 32K (US) BraOdyssey
-
I could honestly probably go up a cup size because I'm getting just a bit of quadding, I'd definitely have the straps moved in first though.
-
Simplypear , I'm so happy for you!
-
Simplypear , now I kind want to try the Tara 3HC bra, I've read about it being comfortable from multiple postings on reddit ABTF forum, lol!
-
whelp i broke Bratabase lol - jk, apparently it doesnt even know which bras or style to recommend to me other than 32J-32JJ should work, which makes sense because 32K was SLIGHTLY small lol. I ordered from BreakOutBras on Amazon. I saw reviews stating that the size up method wasnt reliable at all in the larger cup sizes, but going up 2 sizes from 32J, as recommend by BOBs - too lazy to type the full name out - was actually pretty spot on. helpfulHave you swooped and scooped? Your boobs look like they are positioned differently in each cup.

I did. This is something I run into frequently albeit not this bad lol billi09

dbmamaz I would try Ewan but it's pretty much waaay out of my budget. Panache Envy was also a disaster on me. It felt really defeated because its still hailed as the bra that fits everyone.
