Bra fitting help » gore twisting and folding on itself, issues with band

Issue resolved
bra generally the wrong shape, gore too high and firm. Back to the drawing board!
Original problem
This is the closest fit I have found so far, but the gore flips over on to itself. Is this a shape mismatch, sizing issue? Is it because I am close set? Other than that it's hard for me to get right in/against my IMF, takes a lot of adjsuting. Once it's there it doesn't migrate around too much but the band does move just a bit. When I first got the bra the band seemed very tight. I have been losing weight so I'm not sure if it's that or if the band stretched out? Would you suggest a different size, a different style completely, or both?

helpfulI have this bra! I can tell you that I think the gore is twisting on you just because the gore on this bra is kind of weirdly made. You might either have center-full tissue or close (or even close-ish) breasts.
If you like this bra otherwise, I think you might like the Panache Envy. I find the measurements of the two bras to be pretty similar, and the Envy doesn't have the weird gore. The only thing is that the Envy might be a bit tall on you--you look like you have pretty short breast tissue.
You also have wide breast tissue. I think you might even like a padded style, if you feel so inclined to try one. If the reason why the gore is twisting on this bra is because you have center full tissue, though, maybe be cautious, since padded bras tend to have lower gores, and you might spill towards the center.
I think you're on track with 34G, though!
EDIT: I see on your other fit request, some other users suggested Elomi bras. I think that'd be a good place to go too from what I've heard of them, but I don't have direct experience since they don't make my size.

helpfulIt looks like the gore is too tall and too wide for your shape. I've been tempted by Elomi plunge bras, but I'm actually too small. Ewa Michalak has some great bras with a narrower gore and some are also a plunge style with a shorter gore. This is a lovely bra, but it seems a mismatch for your shape. It's hard for me to discern from the photos if the sizing is correct. (Although, honestly it varies between brands and styles within brands, so it's a continual learning curve.) My personal take on a bra is you shouldn't get hurt by wearing it. That said, I was lucky enough to hear about @Levana Bratique from another user. They charge $25 for a fitting, but if you buy a bra from their shop, the fee goes toward your purchase, and they do allow returns. They are both online and brick and mortar. @Herroom (online retailer) has a quiz about your breasts: shape, closeness, FOT or FOB, etc. At the end there are specific recommendations of bra types suited to your particular shape. It's free. A final thought: Try a wireless bra. With your breasts so close, you may want to have one or two in the rotation. EDIT: I mentioned Ewa Michalak because of narrow gores, but someone rightly pointed out the cup would likely be too narrow as well. My mistake, thank you for the correction!

I’ve actually been looking in to polka dot bras. They only stock Kinga and they have a service where you pick 3-5 bras/sizes, and they ship them to you, and you just ship back the ones you don’t like (kind of like prime wardrobe but we don’t have prime wardrobe here). I think it’ll be a good way to try some Polish bras at the very least. I’d love to try Ewa but it would take me forever to get to the closest store that stocks them here and with the sizing system being so different I would like to try several sizes and don’t want to pay the like $500 it would cost upfront to try multiple sizes haha

My thought is that an E.M./the majority of Polish bras I know of would be too narrow for you.

Now I'm jealous, @Polka Dot Bras sounds brilliant. Will you post again, once you've given them a go?

AnndWM definitely! I'm just waiting for their sizing tool to arrive so I have a better idea of what I'm doing size wise since I've never ordered Polish before. Fingers crossed in works out alright!

helpfulI know that you say the band rides up, but it looks *almost* too small, especially from the back. The first set of hooks looks strained and the view from the side looks like the band is being pulled in a weird way. I could be wrong! But still, ALWAYS go for what you feel more comfortable with. I'm not sure about the gore twisting... it does look like its stabbing you though, so maybe you need a lower gore.

Yeah it’s weirdly looking tight, but it moves around. Also my snug UB is 32.5 so it seems weird it would strain so much. I feel like maybe it’s just… wrong for me shape wise which has the whole thing sitting weirdly. Definitely feeling like I need a lower gore though, for sure

helpfulNot sure about the rest, but I think the gore just does that on this bra. It happens to me, too. Also close set, center full.

My issue with Elomi is I’m /right/ at the cut off, and in the process of losing weight (also they apparently fit slightly on the bigger side?), so it’s likely it will not fit in a short time which would be a bummer! I guess it wouldn’t hurt for at least diagnostic purposes. I ordered some panache bras to try, and will try Elomi next if they aren’t working for me.
