Bra fitting help » Cups empty in bottom, cutting in on top
Le Mystere » Safari Smoother Bra (9878) » 32G 32:7
I don’t seem to quite fit into the cups. The bottom is a little empty but the top cuts in. I also end up with red marks about 1/2” below my breasts. I’m not sure if a size up would help or if I need a different style. Because I frequently have issues with bras rubbing on my tail of Spence and the bottom of the cups have space, I’m worried that a bigger cup wouldn’t work.
The band was a little tight, but after using an extender for a crew wears, it’s loosened up and I no longer use the extender.
The only other decently fitting bra is fantasie fl 2941 (Echo Lace) in 30gg, but it also seems to sit low and this one rubs my tail of Spence.

helpfulThis bra is definitely too small for you. It's evident with the cup cutting in on top, like you're noting; the reason why the bottom of the cups are empty, therefore, is because the cup/immediate projection of the cup isn't deep enough for your breast. Picture putting an orange into a perfectly sized cup versus putting it into a shallower dish. An orange is just going to sit on the surface/somehow hang out of the container because it's really solid: most boobs are going to push out somewhere else, usually to the top of the cup, adding onto the quadding that's there due to volume issues.
I'm also wondering if you've confused yourself re: sizing. You note that you have a better fit in a Fantasie 30GG, which is a UK size, or, in band:inches, a 30:10. This is a US 32G, or a 32:7. Not a sister size like a 32G UK (32:9) would be! (Plus, in terms of this one feeling tight in the band at first: it might be because the cup is too small). Since the Fantasie bra 'sits low' on you too, I think you need to try a bra with more projection aside from a different size. I'm not the one to help regarding your tail of Spence because I have that problem too, but I'd say give some unlined bras like Cleo or Panache a try, perhaps even Polish bras if you find that feasible. Actually, you might like the Freya Offbeat Side Support Bra (5451) which has good immediate projection and is also a bit lower at the sides than a lot of my other bras. It does have pretty wide wires though.
In terms of the size to try, I think UK 32G 32:9 like you might have been trying for is a good size to aim for. This does look about two sizes small, maybe three.

bustyand Thank you. I will give some of those a try. I’m sure I’m confused with the sizing, which has made it more difficult for me.
