Bra fitting help » Wide enough wire fits wide root, but cup wrinkles and straps dig in
Elomi » Cate Banded Bra (4030) » 38H 38:11
Issue resolved
Returned bra. Trying http://bra.pe/X4s6/
Original problem
The wire in this 38H feels more comfortable than 38GG and 38G because it fits my wide root. But the cups wrinkle on the top and bottom. Also, the edges of the wide strap dig in where the strap meets the cup.

helpfulLooking at the few fit requests you have open right now, I'm thinking you need the cup depth of a 38GG or 38G but the bras you're trying in this size don't have wide enough cups for you (I think maybe the straps are digging in here because you're trying to overcompensate for the cups being too big?). Maybe someone with wide roots can jump in and offer more specific advice, but I'd advise looking into bras for wide roots--Curvy Kate is the brand popping into my mind right now. Also, if you like wireless bras, maybe look for ones that don't really have 'cups' so to speak? In that area, I'm gonna rec Molke--I have three myself.

I've always just gotten mine off of Molke's website https://molke.co.uk/ but there might be bra retailers out there somewhere that also sell them. They're a Scottish brand.

helpfulAgreeing with bustyand, that your current fit requests look large-ish in the cups.
How does the band feel?
As your tight ribcage measurement is closer to 36", you could also consider a 36 band?
Not sure (and obviously, only do what's comfortable to you!) but I've heard that people in larger bandsizes often size down for good support.I do think Elomi bras can definitely suit you well, because of their width!
Maybe Matilda (lower gore) could be a nice contender? https://www.bratabase.com/browse/elomi/matilda-plunge-bra-8900/36GG/You could also try the 'search by measurements' feature on here, and look for bras with at least 7 inch / 18cm width cups, I just tried something out like this: https://www.bratabase.com/search/?q=&units=0&stretched_band_length_min=90&stretched_band_length_max=98&band_length_min=&band_length_max=&cup_width_min=18&cup_width_max=25&cup_depth_min=&cup_depth_max=&wire_length_min=&wire_length_max=&strap_width_min=&strap_width_max=&gore_height_min=&gore_height_max=&wing_height_min=&wing_height_max=&hooks_min=&hooks_max=&cup_separation_min=&cup_separation_max=&min_bras=&as_table=on
Maybe some options will roll out for you!
Good luck (:

..Rad!

:D yay!
Isn't it an awesome feature? All hail @ JjGreat way to find bras that measure differently from your 'normal' size, that you'd never have known about otherwise.
Glad to help!

Cool, bubblegum ! Thank you for the suggestion about band size. I wouldn't have thought of trying a smaller band. With my back rolls, that is counter-intuitive. And the search by measurements feature is great!

Thank you for your suggestions, bustyand! I agree that I need a slightly smaller cup depth without a smaller width. I've never heard of @Molke. Am I allowed to ask where you can buy them?
