Bra fitting help » Wrinkles and space bottom of cup

Issue resolved
Changed the way I put the bra on and adjusted cups and straps.
Original problem
So this bra appears to fit in every other way except there is some space and wrinkles at the bottom of the cup. The bottom part of the wire sits about 3/4” below my IMF. any ideas on what this means, if anything? I don’t think The wrinkles at the centre gore are not an issue, those appear to be due to the dual fabric overlay. It’s comfortable and I like the shape it gives....

helpfulI am not talented in addressing fit issues with other people, so please bear with me.
The SF wrinkles at the bottom of the cup for most people. It's a quirk of the fabric and how the bra is constructed. You can see it on her models as well. On her site, there's a note that it may wrinkle near the strap, but I've really only ever seen it wrinkle at the cup bottom near the wire. It's not necessarily a fit issue.
As for you pushing the wires down, the SF is projected at the wire, but not as much as the BM. It's good for FoB shapes, but it is more shallow than the BM (though not as shallow as the SM).
Are your straps tight enough? When I push Ewa's wires down, it is almost always because my straps aren't shortened enough. I'm high set, and I need them quite short myself.
If your straps are fine and you're happy with the bra, I would say don't worry about it. A great bra isn't always a great technical fit, and there's nothing wrong with valuing comfort and an aesthetic you like over "perfection."

helpfulI wear SF pretty regularly. Compared to every other polish bra, it takes the most work to get into it properly for me. I hook it and wiggle it up into my IMF and then I swoop and scoop and then adjust the fabric around the entire cup to shape it around the breast. I have the tiniest wrinkle at the bottom outer edge of the cup but no other wrinkles when I wear it. I have to tighten the straps more than other bras. But it also stays in my IMF all day so it may just be a better style for my needs. When I first hook it, I have a lot of the same wrinkles so I work with each section of the cup to get it around all the tissue properly. I've noticed when carefully inspecting the different styles that the fabric for the SF is sewn a little different along the wire in a way that allows for stretch in multiple directions to better fit soft tissue. Maybe that takes away a little from projection at the wire, but I don't notice much difference in projection in my size between SF and BM and I need a lot of immediate projection. The stiffer fabric also needs to be adjusted more around the tissue. The pictures also look like the gore could possibly be an issue here? I wear a 65FF/G/GG in Ewa depending on the style. I am just at the biggest I could be without quadding in the 65FF in the SF style but the 65G I tried had a gore too high that wouldn't tack firmly at the top and that caused it to move around throughout the day and it would end up below my IMF. I have one picture in SF Lady Di on here, I could add more for reference but not immediately because I just hand washed a bunch and they're all drying.

Thanks for the feedback WildWolff ! The gore does tack for me. I will try it on again and tighten straps some more and try to adjust the cup as much as I can as you suggested, and see if it improves! *fingers crossed*

I hope it works for you! It's such a beautiful color!

Thanks WildWolff ! It is my first SF and I do like it. It seems to have a more rounded shape than the BM. I’ll post pictures if I can get the wrinkles to improve
-
I also get a more rounded shape with SF than BM. The new pictures look great!

Thanks WildWolff ! Your suggestions really helped. I took about 1/2 hour to get it on properly, LOL. I find the SF so much more uplifting than the BM. I think because I’m quite pendulous and soft. I think I may like it even more than the BM!
Oh, and the gore is too wide for me but it does tack, similar to my BMs. But it’s still so much better than non polish gores for me, so I can deal with it, I think LOL. -
It takes me a while to get into them too! But once I do it's a good fit. The SF cut works better for me than BM because I have soft tissue as well. The BM gives me a slightly more pointy shape. I love the wider fabric section at the top near the strap, it keeps the tissue in the front. I've tried 4 or 5 SF styles in a few sizes now and some of them are overlapped at the very top and some are not so you could look for the overlapped ones. I'm wearing SF garden today and the gore is overlapped at the top. I also have Lady Di and I love the thick padded straps (they make me feel like a warrior!) But the gore is a bit too wide. I still wear it though. I've been looking at the aubergine color in this style because it's so pretty but I'm hesitant because of the gore.

WildWolff ohh the SF garden is so pretty!
I’ve bought all of my EMs online so I couldn’t check for the overlapping gore. Slim pickins for EMs where I live LOL. I am eyeing one on EMs site though...not that I need to get anymore bras right now haha -
I usually just check Bratabase measurements for cup separation and see if anyone uploaded pictures of the gore. I don't need any more bras either but I'm always eyeing at least a few lol how can we not when we frequent a website dedicated to bras?! Lol I count bras as a clothing item, investment, and hobby so I can always find room in the budget and justify buying another if I find a good deal on a Polish.

WildWolff agreed! It is definitely a hobby for me now haha

helpfulSuch_A_Pretty_Bra!
could it not be projected enough? https://imgur.com/wuKovXy
Even though according to this data, SF falls under the "projected and FOB" category https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/comments/myp66c/projectguide_shape_guide_for_projection_and/
I couldn't wait for your review on this! I only tried the SF once, but it was the wrong size so I couldn't really evaluate it so well on me, if that makes sense.
edit: off topic, but do you think the straps are a little bit wider on the SF as opposed to BM? That was my impression, but maybe the fabric is just stiffer on the SF, idk.

BraOdyssey see that’s what I was thinking, but the SF is supposed to have good projection at the wire...it could be that is has less than the BM? The only other thing I was thinking is the wire shape? It does feel a tiny bit bigger than my BMs, weird.
I think the straps may be slightly wider than BM but nothing too noticeable for me. I’m trying to decide if I should keep or exchange...if there’s not enough projection at the wire, does that mean it’s going to constantly dig in?
Oh, and I’ll write a review soon too :)
-
BraOdyssey oh and thanks for your feedback as always :)
-
BraOdyssey The straps on the SFs I've tried are the tiniest bit wider than the BMs I have. The fabric they attach to on the cup is wider too, I think to the intention is to support soft tissue and keep it in the cup and not under the armpit.

Thanks jlcl119 for your opinion and feedback! Much appreciated.
I could tighten the straps more, they are quite stretchy. When I tightened them the wrinkling improved for sure, but didn’t go away.
Interesting to know that this is a common issue. I have seen many SFs on here that have wrinkles at the bottom. You may be right that there’s a bit less projection than the BMs because I never get this issue with the BMs.
I’m not one that needs a totally perfect fit (and that rarely happens anyway) as long as it’s comfortable enough and I like the support. Hmm maybe I should keep it...I have a bit of time to decide as I bought it locally so can still return/exchange...
