Bra fitting help » Wrinkling in cups, unsure if bra is too large or too projected
Curvy Kate » Daily Balcony Bra (CK037100) » 30DD 30:5
There appears to be wrinkling in the cups, unsure if too large or shape issue (bra is too projected). It fits well in the sides, but there is wrinkling in the center; it actually almost seems like the sides of my breasts are "pulling" the bra and wrinkling it a bit. The top seems to fit but at the same time, not really. It goes across the breast but then I'm not filling it in fully. Band is also a tad loose for me, but not the main issue here. The wires and straps seem to feel fine in my opinion.
I measure as a 28E/30DD and I think I am quite shallow with wide roots. Not sure about height, but I think they are short?
This bra doesn't come in a smaller size so I wouldn't be able to size down, but I mainly want to know if it's a shape issue or not.
Thanks in advance!

helpfulthe band is too loose & I'm guessing this may be too projected in the cup. Since your loose ribcage is only 29" I think you should try 28 bands or tight 30 bands. Remember the band will loosen up anyway with wear so you don't want to already start with a something that is too loose in the band.
Here are some brands that make 28E https://www.bratabase.com/browse/by-size/28:6/
I'm not sure where you live so it's hard for me to make brand suggestions, but this is definitely a return because the band is too loose already. The cups are probably the wrong shape...if not too big (we can't tell because CK doesn't make 30D, so the two sizes can't really be compared). This bra unfortunately offers little support.

Hm, I think it's just a matter of trying on and returning. Also, you're probably almost 100% have to do your shopping online if you wear 28 band and live in N. America.
Well, there's a good variety of brands that make 28E, ime - more than you would think, it's just there's online purchase only (pretty much) not usually in stores unless you sister-size up (and even then, 30DD is probably only in a few stores, lol) Just taking a peak at this list. https://www.bratabase.com/browse/by-size/28:6/ The most common are Cleo, Panache Sport, Freya, Panache, and Curvy Kate. Also, the Parfait by Affinitas Charlotte https://www.bratabase.com/browse/parfait-by-affinitas/charlotte-6901/28E/ which I thought was discontinued but can probably be found on eBay and other places. Although this review in your size says the band is more like a 26 band. https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dl3jy/
I think it's just kind of a "trying on and returning game" at this point until you find a really good fit. This is what Breakout has in your size https://www.breakoutbras.com/collections/underwire/bandsize-28+cupsize-uk-e-us-dddf
Some of these might have tight bands though, and you might have to sister-size up. (If their 30s are more like 28s) Except for Freya is known for having looser bands - hope that helps ! : ) Good luck on your bra journey : ) It can be a lot of trying on and returning at first, unfortunately. I think that happens for everyone.

Breakout also has Polish brand Comexim, if you fit comfortably into Comexim bras, you can order any of the bras on their website in your size affordably from Poland and they have quite a selection Comexim.pl
-
so, you actually have a really good selection some are more easily accessible in Europe, but you can still get most of these brands here.
There also was a long discussion thread on A Bra That Fits about Japanese bras https://www.reddit.com/r/ABraThatFits/comments/sbsoar/japanese_bras_the_how_where_why_guide/ Unfortunately, they start at a 30 band which is wild to me b/c you'd think they'd start with small bands! I really don't know much about Japanese brands though, lol. I'm not sure if their 30 bands run tight.
something to think about, though you'd have to most likely order directly from Japan. Although US brand Brandelis (NY headquarter) https://bradelisnewyork.com/ is a Japanese brand, I believe. They even alter bands in store (like, take bands in to make them smaller) if you happen to live in New York.
okay, now I'm probably confusing you with too many options, lol. But I'm just letting you know that there are lots of options with 28E, esp with some of the European brands, etc.

Yes, I'll definitely have to shop online which isn't an issue for me at least and agree it will be tons of trial and error lol. Haven't tried Comexim but I was always under the impression that it wouldn't work since I'm wide and shallow but I guess I won't know unless I try. Thanks so much for the suggestions and help! :) I'll definitely look into them!

They tend to be more wide and shallow in the smaller cup sizes, https://www.bratabase.com/browse/comexim/size-range/60F/ but this also depends on the different styles. They have a shallow plunge, Ginger (I'm not sure if they still make Ginger), and I think their padded half cups are more shallow than their padded plunges, although they could probably still be considered. I'm not 100% sure how shallow they are in the F EU size. I think your EU size (or comexim size) might be 60F EU...oh actually the conversion app says 60 G/H.

Ooooh that is so helpful and good to know about Comexim! You are a godsend!
And not confusing at all, this is super helpful! I actually tried out a few bras from the Japanese brand Aimerfeel before I really got into this bra journey and if I could recall, the 30 band was snug enough but since it was before I knew about proper sizing the cups were too small lol and it ended up making the band feel way too tight in some bras (I bought 65C/30Cs at the time). In the bra I was able to wear more (I got a 65D/30D in this one), the band did get quite loose after a while but I'm assuming that's probably normal. I don't know if it was truly a good fit at all especially since they were really padded bras, but I should revisit with the knowledge I have now. I still get the sticker shock and think bigger cup sizes sound way too big for me after wearing 32As my whole life lol. Sorry I'm rambling a bit here, but you are so right that it's wild they only start at 30 bands though!!
Will definitely look into these though! Thank you so much for taking the time to reply and even convert my size!!

I've also read online about Comexim that a person can request "wider wires" if they need them. I know the Irish bra lady on Instagram requests wider wires on her Comexim bras (she is about 26E UK).
Also, their 2HC (2-part half cup) is more shallow than their 3HC (3 part half cup) aka Mimi in black or beige https://www.comexim.pl/pl/half-cup/288-mimi-biustonosz.html?search_query=Mimi&results=2

This is great to know, thank you so much!

No worries!! There's also this blog about Comexim and Ewa in the smaller sizes; the author has a more shallow breast shape and she prefers the 2HC cut from Comexim, here is her blog https://uglygirlprettyworld.blogspot.com/search/label/lingerie?

Woah, thanks so much for linking this! I really like the author's aesthetic and style too which makes this even better :)
I ordered a couple Cleo bras in 28E so I'll be seeing how those go and I'll try to get my hands on the Comexims next!
Thanks! I guess it's good to know it seems like it's more likely a shape issue; it is too bad we can't really know for sure since this doesn't come in a 30D.
I agree the band being a bit too loose is also an issue though, I have tried tighter 30 bands like Natori Feathers and Flora and B.tempt'd Ciao Bella in 30DD and those work for me pretty well. I have also tried Freya Offbeat Side Support in 28E and the band on that one feels good too, the cups have very slight wrinkling but definitely nowhere near to this extent. It's too bad this one didn't work out.
I live in the U.S. and am looking for more 28 bands, they always seem hard to come by for me. Are there any other bras that might work? I am thinking of trying some from Panache and Cleo and more from Freya but I feel like my shape won't work for many styles. I guess I could also try sizing down to 28DD? Appreciate the help!
