Bra fitting help » Cups don't feel supportive
Ewa Michalak » Sf Garden » 70HH 32:12
This bra doesn't feel supportive and there is wrinkling in the armpit, but the front and top view make the cups look full. Does this mean that I should go down to the 70H or that I need a different style of bra? When I tried on multiple Ewa bras a few months ago, this exact bra was too small, and many others I tried on fit perfectly. I've lost about 10 pounds since then so I thought the small bra would now fit. I'm suspicious that my shape may have changed in addition to size. Thanks!

helpfulI'd like some more pictures (namely of the band) to be really sure, but I'll offer a few pre-emptive comments. Wrinkling in the armpit area is not something I tend to pay that much attention to, but I'm wondering if it has more significance here with this SF--as in the entire top of the cup might be wrinkling if the fabric wasn't as firm. Are the measurements you have entered for yourself from before or after you lost weight? I know bra measuring can be a bit wonky, but assuming it's the latter, I'd expect this bra 1. to be too small in the band (which it doesn't sound like it is) 2. to be around the right depth for you (which it may or may not be?)
If you're able to, try either putting the band on a tighter hook and/or tightening the straps. Your boobs may be either smaller or fuller on bottom than they were before (and if they're fuller on bottom this style may just not work for you), but what I'm seeing and hearing here is kind of similar to what I see on and feel myself when I need to tighten my straps a bit, so I'm thinking/hoping it's just that?

helpfulThis band does look and measure too tight for you. Perhaps an extender and loosened straps might lessen the strain on the cup width and resolve the slight wrinkling at the base of the cup and in the top side part. Straps are hanging out on the edge of your frame and that may be contributing to the feeling of not enough support. Depending on the fabric and how you feel about a few hand stitches, you could dart at the floral fabric below the straps in the front. Otherwise, it is such a pretty bra and looks like it is a good and flattering fit for you.
On another note, perhaps you were used to being smooshed in your bras and losing a bit of weight is changing that. Ohhh... the pain of fluctuations!

Thank you for your help! I wore minimizers my whole life until about a year ago when I gained 20 pounds and 4 inches in bust circumference in a few months (medication). That's when I got on bratabase and re-learned how bra sizes work. You are absolutely right: 20+ years of trying to hide my boobs made me used to really tight fits. You said "Straps are hanging out on the edge of your frame and that may be contributing to the feeling of not enough support." What do you mean? Do you mean the floral part of the strap that has the gaping or that the thin part of the strap sits too far on my shoulder? Thanks again for taking the time to help!

The straps on the shoulders sit too far on the shoulder. Ewa bras tend to do that though!

Thank you for your help!!! I just added more pics. I think I haven't seen a picture of my back in years.....and the band totally looks too small - right? I do feel like I've gotten fuller on bottom in the last few months. My measurements are from yesterday.
My tissue is dense and heavy (feels heavy to me - I don't have any comparison) so I tend to wear bras tight in the band and loose in the shoulders. (Weight on my shoulder muscles contributes to chronic headaches).
It sounds like I need to do what I did when I initially gained the weight I am starting to loose, which was to try on a bunch of bras to determine size / model that works for me.
