Bra fitting help » Ready to give up, nothing fits, what fit issues should I just deal with?
Panache » Rocha Low Front Balcony Bra (10341) » 38HH 38:12
I have been looking for about 4 years now on and off and every time I get something closer and learn more but no bra has been pain free. So what kind of fit issues and pain should I just deal with, like I know no bra will ever have close enough straps for me so I can deal with that but do I also just need to deal with a low underwire? I've added 36 bra measurements to bratabase and most of those have been in the last year. There isn't enough measurements for me to compare.
This Panache Rocha fits every so slightly better than my 2-3 year old Elomi Jodi that is now almost too big in the band (stretched out plus lost an inch of fat around my ribcage). I have tons of pictures and information I can add but when I post on here or on the Abrathatfits reddit page I get at most 2-3 answers. I'm feeling dejected and I feel the issues I'm having will only get worse as I (hopefully) loose weight.
Bratabase recommendations say I should look at 38ff, 38g, 38gg but I tried on some 38h (yes all UK sizes) recently and was popping out in every possible direction, some 38H's fit better (elomi) but i have a 38gg from the beginning of my journey and it is 100% too small. I just did the abrathatfits calculator and got 38JJ/K. I tried on a 38j earlier today and it was definitely too big but not absurdly too big. So I believe I am either 38h or 38hh.

helpfulFirstly, I'm sorry you're feeling so dejected!
I wish the answer to 'how much pain/fit issues should I just deal with" was zero.Secondly, by 'low underwire' - do you mean not having enough space / projection in the bottom of the cups, so the wires slide down on your ribcage?
As far as I know, Ewa Michalak makes some of the most projected bras.
Yes, they are Polish and on the pricier side, but could be worth your while if you're feeling nothing else works!! Depending on where you're located, some retailers might offer them with decent return policies. Like Lace:Lingerie in Europe and Levana bratique or in the US, for example.Alternatively, Gorsenia could be a good brand to try! Deep and projected as well.
Sold at Lace: but also Lumingerie (Finland based, ships to all Europe I believe) or even Brastop, Amazon and eBay have some Gorsenia.PS: if it helps at all, I'm a different size range but most 'regular' full bust brands like Panache, Flirtelle, Freya don't really work for me either!

I'd say start with BMs in Ewa Michalak if you're looking for lots of immediate projection. My go-to U.S-based place for EM is Levana Bratique, but shop wherever works for you! P.S.: EMs tend to run tight in the band.

generousoctopus FYI Levana also does virtual fittings for $25, if you're worried about EM sizing: https://levanabratique.com/bras/virtual-bra-fitting/

helpfulI'm sorry you've been struggling! It's not you, but I also don't think you should have to settle for pain and discomfort... the solution is out there, it just requires a very specific set of criteria. Petite build/shoulders and a very full bust is already a hard-to-fit combination but your measurements suggest that you might also have a breast shape that's as tall or taller than it is wide, in addition to being full/round/projected.
This means your anatomy is very typical for your build and bust size, but quite poorly served by most brands (I can get nerdier and more technical about this, but I assume you'd rather hear about the solution than the problem at this point).
Fortunately there ARE a few designs on the market that can work for this shape/these specific fit needs, although the best solution for you will likely depend on your tolerance for wearing a J-hook/racerback. I would recommend trying Elomi Matilda and Fantasie Illusion (or the Fantasie Anoushka Full Cup if it's not discontinued), in store if possible so you can try adjacent cup sizes.I would also recommend checking out alisa 's posts and many, many reviews -- she had a similar shape challenge and she did a pretty amazing job of recording her ongoing fit odyssey over several years throughout weight changes etc.

Yeah I'm overweight and know that that's why straps are always going to be too far apart for me, I have tried to use the hooks on some of my bras to turn them into razor backs but i think it made the straps turn at an angle instead of lying flat and that stuck out of my shirt but maybe I should try again because I care less at this point!
I just looked through my amazon orders from when i started trying to find a bra and the elomi matilda was one of the first ones I ordered and returned.
I believe my root height is 5 inches, not sure if that makes them tall or not. I do think I have short roots because I had some qualities that were typical of someone with short roots such as breasts look more like a "d" when supported not a "/" and I get strap gap with every bra I've tried.
I really went through all the shape guides and blog recently and I actually made a list so I wouldn't forget and I came up with some I feel certain of
-Splayed root shape,
-close set,
-projected, immediate projection,
-slightly self supported but pendulous shape
-soft tissue (very malleable)And these I felt I could be average or tend to be slightly something
-center full or average
-even fullness or slightly full on top
-Normal or high setAnd it does seem odd to me that a lot of people out here seem to be very projected but only polish brands tend to have a lot of projection! What's up with polish people and projection and other brands not getting into the market!
I will definitely check her out and see!

bubblegum US based. I have heard that about Ewa Michalak bras I just didn't know where to find them besides their website which used polish currency and I just wasn't familiar enough to feel comfortable buying them. I saw yesterday there are some other online stores I can get them but I don't know what style I should try? I have not tried any gorsenia bras either but I just looked and those seem easier to find, any suggestions on style?
I do believe that the underwires sit low due to projection, I feel a bra that was just a straight slab jutting out from my chest under my IMF would basically work lol. I feel like I need a wire shaped like this |_| or |_/ basically no curve at the bottom and from a side view _)
