Original problem
I feel like I have side cup spillage and band fits tight. I tried same style in a different size 38 DD. The band felt a little to big and cup was digging in on the top. I feel like cups fit fairly well, just the band is tight. Will an extender help with this or is it just not the right fit?

Black bras always run tighter, it's the dye! (Think about how your black jeans are tougher and last longer) I'm not sure if it will just loosen up with time.
Do you have amazon prime and can you just try it in a different colourway. E.G., PINK? as a comparison.
Those are my thoughts.

The cups look a little too deep/projected--so even with an extender or in 38DD, this probably isn't the best shape match for you (though certainly still wearable if it's comfortable and you like the fit!).
