Bra fitting help » Cup pushes down causing a lot of wrinkling near the gore. Are the cups too big?
Comexim » Basic Plunge Bra (170) » 70J 32:10
Issue resolved
Ordering comexim basic plunge with deeper cups in 70J.
Original problem
I am not sure what is wrong with this bra.
My problems with this bra start with the wide straps, wide apex postions and gaping at the top. Though that isn't the worse of them all. The cups pushes down the moment I step into this bra, and it's the most uncomfortable near the gore where all the wrinkling is. I can feel it wanting to push down the moment I hook the bra.
I've tried this bra with an extender on the first hook, but it doesn't solve much other than not stretching the wires too far back.

helpfulHmm, I think I recognize you from r/ABraThatFits forum? It's too bad you're not in the US because I would recommend trying Comexim's "deeper plunge" cut. Which they have for sale at Breakout Bras (actually, it's on clearance), Topaz. If you're ordering direct from Comexim, I would try the deeper plunge cut. I think it's because you have dense tissue.
If the band feels too tight, you could sister-size up, too. A fair number of people do that with Comexim. I think their Basic bras are kind of tight. Though I've never tried the Comexim basic in white. This is a review from the Petite Collegiate re: Comexim basic in beige https://stackdd.com/comexim-basic-bra/
I lean towards --> I think the comexim basic runs kind of tight in the band compared to some of their other bras. which tend to vary by stretchiness, depending on the fabric used.
If you want to try another basic, I would lean towards --> a Basic bra (beige, black, or white) is a sister-size up but ask for the deeper plunge cut. OR I would try another other bra (except for not a black bra, b/c "black bands run tight" IME, in the same size 70J but ask for the deeper plunge cut. I found that the deeper plunge cut also brings the straps in slightly? Overall, I just get a better fit with the deeper plunge cut in my current cup size!!
the regular padded plunge still fits, but I have a bit of gaping at the top of the cups.
TL; DR, I think b/c of having dense breast tissue, you need the deeper plunge cut. It should help bring the straps in a bit too (IME) with that deeper cup. I'm unsure if you should request anything with the gore, TBH. You can request to raise or lower the gore, but I'm unsure if you should request that. I think the main issue is that you need a deeper cup. The Comexim basic padded plunge is said to run about 1/2 cup smaller and a little tighter in the band (so I have read!). Hmm, maybe...I can see that.
overall, this is like you're getting close. This is not a *terrible* fit. Comexim uses quality materials and I find their bras very comfy, and a good quality. Plus they use softer wires, which I prefer. I hope it works out for you b/c it's a fun bra to order!

Deeper plunge in 70J would be my vote. But I'm also not sure you and padded Comexims will get along in general. Maybe look to unlined bras if possible/desirable?

Lurelia , okay, I took a peak at my measurements - taken 2 weeks ago to compare them to your above. Our measurements are *quite* similar, but not exactly. Particularly we both have the same "comfortable band" measurement, 30.7 inches.
however, some of our breast measurements are slightly different; I'm assuming you have more dense breast tissue than me, and that my breasts are more saggy (I know...I kind of hate that word). But it's possible we just have a different shape, too. Also, my frame is wider than yours. I surmise this will make your breasts even more close-set than mine. (I do well with low to medium gores, but not a tall gore at all!!)
so, comparing measurements, I will put my measurements in (brackets)
Lurelia vs. (BraOdyssey)
comfy band 30.7 (30.7)
horizontal perim. 12.2 (11.8)
V. breast 10.2 (11.8)
laying breast 11.0 (12.2)
Nip to Neck 10.2 (8.7)
Breast base hgt. 8.3 (9.8)
Frame width 11.4 (12.6)

Soooo, I find the 70 band in Comexim perfect in this bra https://www.breakoutbras.com/collections/final-sale-bras/products/comexim-topaz-padded-plunge-underwire-bra-cmtopaz?variant=38128204972230, size 70K, deeper plunge cut. (not a "Basic" though...I do think the basic runs a bit tighter)
I think we have different breast shapes though? I have a full on bottom shape (I have more breast tissue on the bottom, which makes my nips point up). I *think* you might be more even, or full on top, b/c Nip to Neck measurement is longer than mine.
how would you describe your breast shape? I *thought* full on top shape did better with Comexim 3HCs though...I noticed you posted a few of those for fit check (if you're the same person on ABraThatFits), I wonder if they were several sizes too small though - too small could cause gaping, too. (I know, it's so tricky!!)

It's too bad, this bra doesn't look *terrible* on you. It looks clearly too small on your left breast though, IMO, because it's giving you a cleavage look. although your breasts are quite close-set, making it easy for you to get that clearage look. (most people have one breast larger than the other - for me it's my left breast. most people have some degree of asymmetry) I think you might be okay with one of their 70 bands in one of their prints though - it depends on the fabric but I think some of their bras run firmer than others in the band. I think their basics are all of little bit tighter in the band - they use firmer fabric so the band really lasts #quality.

bustyand I honestly think so too, but I can't seem to find a good fit for my roots in UK bras. I know Polish brans has unpadded, lined bras as well, but they are really hard to obtain here in SG if they don't provide international shipping. So my options are usually EM (too expensive for me tho) and Comexim. But Comexim's bras are mostly unlined and see through, which doesn't really sit right with me :(

BraOdyssey Yes, you've probably seen me a few times on r/ABTF. It has been a real struggle lol
So I tried the leaning test again - and you're right, I'm even fullness, and suprisingly very projected.
How I would describe my shape: even fullness, narrow, projected needing immediate projection, dense, splayed roots. My left breast is also slightly bigger, but not too significantly that there's a difference in cup sizes.
I did fit checks in 3HC beauty 70HH and mystic 70J, and they don't fit well at all now. beauty was too small. As for mystic, the wires just weren't sitting right. (pushing down)
So I'll try to get a 70J plunge with deeper cups then. Is it alright if I just requested a 70J Baisic plunge with deeper cups?

" Is it alright if I just requested a 70J Baisic plunge with deeper cups?" You should be able to. It's just a different pattern. "deeper cup" alteration.
70K deeper cup alteration fits me really well. Picture here https://www.bratabase.com/bra/dnpi3/

BraOdyssey I see! Ok then. I'll try a 70J with deeper cups and see how it goes. @_@
Thanks so much!

helpfulThis bra has fit issues. You can try freya deco moulded plunge bra in 32gg uk. I hope this helps. Good luck 👍

Fun to order but not for my wallet D:
Anyways, it seems they've cleared their topaz as it is no longer listed on BoB's final sale.
As for this 70J, I'm honestly still really concerned that the cups are too big. But I'm also concered that if I size down, there wouldn't be enough immdiate projection.
Perhaps a deeper plunge in a 70HH would do? Or should I buy deeper plunge in 70HH and 70J?
