Bra fitting help » Ewa Michalak Cup and Wires Pushed Down Plus Armpit Spillage
Ewa Michalak » Bm Rimini » 70GG 32:10
Ewa and Comexim are the only brands I’ve tried with narrow enough wires - EM maybe approaching slightly too narrow but I’m not sure. However I still somehow have a shape mismatch. To actually fit without quadding after swoop and scoop I end up in 1-2 cup sizes bigger than either Bratabase or the ABTF calculator want me (this is true in any brand). But the tissue will not stay in the cups. I also end up pushing even these wires down, so they end up about an inch below my IMF, which tips the band forward and reduces support. Mystified at this point and very uncomfortable in basically any bra! I DESPISE the squished armpit extra tissue feeling and pinching.
For shape and size reference and comparison, here’s my 32FF Marcie http://bra.pe/X5ry/pictures/, my 32G Lucy http://bra.pe/X5ry/pictures/, and another EM in 75FF http://bra.pe/X5s8/pictures/

helpfulDarn it, the straps can sometimes be too far apart in Ewa Michalak balconette bras, particularly for petite people. Some people just need the far apart straps - my sister is one of them. She's 5'8 & has a very athletic build and broad shoulders, so wider straps on bras are fine for someone with broad shoulders. I started this forum two days ago https://www.reddit.com/r/PolishbrasforPetites/ (which is an offshoot of this https://www.reddit.com/r/PolishBras/ ) and I remember reading this on one of the blog posts I just posted on that forum, LOL.
I would stick with the Polish brands (but I'm biased). Maybe try Polish brand Gaia???? https://www.reddit.com/r/PolishBras/wiki/brands/gaia/ It's not an expensive as E.M., so it's more of a middle brand. It has narrow wires. https://www.bratabase.com/browse/gaia/
I like Kris Line a lot, too. But there's only a few stores that carry Kris Line & sell it online in the U.S. (*at least that I'm aware of) La Bella Intimates in Maitland, FL https://www.shoplabellaintimates.com/collections/bras?filter.p.vendor=Kris+Line and the Rack Shack in Brooklyn, NY. https://therackshackbk.com/search?q=Kris+Line&options%5Bprefix%5D=last
French brand Empreinte has narrow wires, but I'm not sure if the cups will be too tall for you? (the brand is okay for me, but I'm 5'7)
Otherwise, this is how you can search by "cup height" in your size (I made a Youtube video about it) https://www.bratabase.com/browse/by-size/32:10/measurements/?filter_by=cup_height&order_by=cup_height&style=&hide_discontinued=False You can see that some of the Polish brands like Comexim and Ewa Michalak come up with the shorter cups and are therefore good brands for either petites, or people with shorter
EDIT: I just mention the need for short cups b/c from the pictures this bra looks like an "armpit eater" Here is a blog from a woman who has that same issue, granted she wears a different bra size. https://brogwithadog.wordpress.com/

Okay yes the wide straps are KILLING me and I do wonder how much of the top gape is from having to tip them in. The funny thing is I’m not petite at all - I’m about 5’ 8” and my breasts actually sit low on my torso - but I have a super narrow frame/shoulders. I had not been looking at advice for petite folks based on my height but I wonder now if I should be more just bc of the super narrow shoulders.
PS Thank you so much for the video link! I feel like I sort of reteach myself how to use the advanced search functions every couple of years and then IMMEDIATELY forget every time

oh no worries! I thought you were petite b/c of the way that the bra was fitting on your frame. My bad! Lol.
That's interesting, some of the petite-focused bras blog may apply to you then because your frame.

helpfulBased on the fit issues you described with wires feeling too low or excess strap distance, it does seem that Polish brands like Ewa Michalak cater best to narrow, projected shapes that need precise scaling. As BraOdyssey suggested, you may have better luck with brands like Gaia or Kris Line that engineer cups for more petite figures.
Gorsenia could also be worth exploring since they offer shorter wings and centered straps while still providing narrow underwires. Even venturing into the world of bralettes with structures like signature racerbacks may prove more comfortable if wires prove persistently tricky for your shape.
At the end of the day, no amount of squishing or minimizing will beat pieces that embrace your morphology as-is.

helpfulThese cups are simply too large. If you've tried smaller cup sizes and have quadding, then ultimately the bra is a shape mismatch. Plus, I suspect if you go down in the cup, the wires would be too narrow.

Okay, I was kind of suspecting this but I guess my question then is: what cup shape ISN’T a mismatch? Not that this is necessarily obvious from just this bra’s fit but I would say I have had basically the same issues but more exacerbated/with a hugely wide underwire in most Cleo cuts (Marcie and Lucy both), unlined Freya (half cups and molded obviously even worse with gaping/too shallow at wide wires etc), and I feel like the general consensus was narrow polish wires would fix those issues. I kind of just kept sizing up hoping enough room in the cup would keep the armpit bulge from oozing out.
I’m wondering if there’s a dimensionality issue other than wide/narrow underwires that is causing me so much trouble - I do have a very tall vertically shallow root.
I should also note I can handle the gaping bc it’s just cosmetic way more than the infuriating armpit spillage and downward wire drift which are sensory hell. When I get home I’ll try to link or post a few comparable fits from smaller cup sizes for reference.
