Bra fitting help » what size do you suggest instead? cup too big, everything else perfect
Wacoal » Retro Chic Wire Free Contour Bra (852186) » 32D 32:4
this is my dream bra. the style balances my body proportions perfectly and it is exactly my aesthetic. i have very shallow and wide set breasts. as you can see, i am not filling the cup. band is perfect on last hook.

helpfulI'd be inclined to size up to a 34 band in this, because Wacoal runs tight. Then maybe down a cup to 34B.

helpfulThis full cup style is not best for your breast shape, look at something with demi or half cups.
Depending on how much support you need, maybe going up a band size, as bananaboats suggests, may be an option if you find sometihng that maintains a comfortable, similar cup width than this one.

thank you so much for the bra wisdom. the half/demi cup style makes perfect sense and i hesitate because the ones i’ve worn in the past actually dragged my breasts down and/or they were popped out of the top. that was size 32d though.

helpfulI see that you are just starting on your bra journey on bratabase. It can take awhile to train our eyes to see our shape and to train our brain to accept what our eyes are seeing with the numbers and letters attached to the bras. You may need to reconsider the notion of wide a shallow and perhaps toy with the idea of a large handful of projected ladies. I found it helpful to measure and remeasure both myself and my bras to get more accurate. This also helps to understand how bras are constructed and how they flatter or do not flatter my breast shape and torso.
Please re-evaluate this bra and consider how it may be too tall for you and not have enough projection for your ladies at the bra wire. The wacoal bra is a pretty one but I think you can do better in terms of construction and fit. Good luck in that journey!

thank you so much.
so so helpful. i will take another deep dive for sure. it’s like playing detective.
i am just starting and was actually confused about the projected descriptor- my breasts are kind of saggy - i thought projected ones were lifted already?
-
is there a place where i can see examples of projected breasts specifically?
-
No, projection has nothing to do with saggy boobs or perky boobs. I have tried to find the link here to no avail. What I would suggest is that you have a look in the pictures under "My breast shapes set" here at this site. Try and find a few pictures that you think look like you and check out the measurements. Compare to own own. Check out the breasts where the tissue is spread out along the width of the torso from a wide root versus the other breasts that form from a smaller root. Just comes down to labels. It seems that the wide and shallow breast is tossed out way to often and it seems in a negative way. We are somehow deficient if we have this wide, shallow label when it is just a variation on how the breast tissue is laid out. Seems silly!
