Wondering about Wonderbra

Wonderbra apparently is run very differently in UK and in USA.

On their USA site they list bras up to D cups http://www.wonderbra.com/BraBoutique.aspx?dsp=collection

While on their UK site they show their full range up to G cups http://www.wonderbra.eu/uk/solution-bras-/icat/solutions/

I wonder why they do that? It just drags the myth in USA that D cups are the biggest out there.

- It's pretty much the same with La Senza (available as a VS-type mall-chain in Canada) and Wacoal. Both really stop in the D's in North America but seem to vastly surpass into the F's or up to a G overseas. Still puzzling.

  They replied that they're different companies :S, I haven't checked if they carry different models. I wonder how could anyone distinguish if their Wonderbra bra is USA or UK :S

I've been stuck in a 34B for at least 20 years! I'd go try one on, and of course, I was too embarrassed to ask for help. But I looked like the models. You know, who wear the push up, and spill over bras? I had no idea it was completely wrong for me, and I have no idea how ... I started believing that was my size. I was measured twice at Victoria's Secret: the first time as a 32D, although we had to go up to a 32DD. The second time a 34C. All in all, I love Victoria's Secret. At least they got me on the right track. Now, from what I've discovered online, there are even better sizes, and I was able to obtain a 30E (British size), and it fits exquisitely!

Calling a spade a spade. Knowing the shape of ones boobs.

This time on PMS I've finally been able to find out the shape of my boobs. I did the herroom test and they had so informative texts and pictures that I finally could understand and see what kind of boobs I actually have. Also it was way easier to spot while on PMS because they are fuller this time of ... the month.

Somehow I had actually known but I couldn't get the pieces together.

The two main things for me was understanding the fact that I do have an "uncommon underbust crease". I am not round under my boobs, I've never ever been. Wires don't simply not cater to the shape of my boobs. They will either be too big or too small. And as I would never ever buy a too small pair of shoes and try to adjust them with lace I will never ever use too small wires and adjust them with deeper cups.

The other thing was my being fuller on the top. I'm significantly fuller on the top, with that typical pointing down nipple and apex. The reason I've not seen it was because:

Shallow. When you drown in every cups you try out most of the time it's because the bra is too big. For me it isn't. It's because the bra I'm trying out are not made for my boobs. Like trying out a narrow pointy shoe when I need broader shoes with rounded toes!

I need the bottom section in a bra cut lower combined with the stretchy upper section. Like the CK Emily. Or the Panache Andorra. Panache Andorra however has significantly worse wires for me being more deeply rounded. They add space where I don't have tissue.

Demi cups might also be very good for me as long as they have high and wide wires. Trying out Demi Diva by Bravissimo is therefore on my list CK Tease me is already on it's way. Masquerade Rhea also might be a good option. But it all depends on the wires.

I will do a lot of alterations on my bras and I will never have a bra that fit's in the typical Bratabase kind of way. I can measure my bras but setting fit will just be kind of pointless.

The judgemental tone on herroom is terrible. There advice might and might not work, but the pics and texts are quite informative. So if you don't know the shape of your boobs, do the test.

- Thanks for the link, the test was very interesting! I think it helps a lot in understanding which shape your breasts actually are.
  
  Sadly, the picks the website did for me would pretty much all not fit so that's sad :( It knows so much about my breast shape and then picks out bras that wouldn't fit at all or aren't even produced in my size. o_O
  Anyway, some of the style and cut suggestions are okay. Even though I already found out much more about what I need than what the site suggests for me.
  
  By the way, you mentioned the wire shaping problem: I don't know which wire shape you need, but some companies produce bras with wires in other shapes than the "normal round one". For example Curvy Kate uses the Nike-sign-shaped wires. And maybe if you compare other companies (although I see that you already tested a lot of bras) and find wires that fit better? Or exchange wires in bras for some which you bent or found in the right shape?

Yesterday evening, my friend and I popped into a Tesco store to buy some late evening snacks on a night out. We wandered into the clothing department, and decided to try on some things, just for fun - dresses for me, bras for her (she's one of the sizes you can find on the high street).

I told her I'll ... pick a bra for her to try on, walked into the aisle, looked around - and saw nothing but continuity colors. There was one exception, though - a cute padded black bra with large pink polka dots. True, not to everyone's taste, but it was the only thing with at least a splash of color in it.

When my friend saw the bra, she made a face and said: "But, well, I think that a proper bra should be white, black or nude. I mean, whatever would I use a pink bra for?"

I am 24 years old - turning 25 next week - and I have breast cancer.

I recently had a lumpectomy and although that surgery went well, my doctor couldn't get all the affected tissue, so she recommends a mastectomy. Oof. It's not scheduled yet, but it will probably happen within a month or so.

Right now, I'm faced with ... a few tough decisions. I could have surgery and reconstruction on my right, then have a reduction on my left a few months later, or I could have a double mastectomy and reconstruction all at once. I also need to choose either implants or a GAP flap for reconstruction (my doctor and I settled on those as the 2 best options for me).

I've been busty my entire life and currently fill out a 32G. I'd always planned to have a breast reduction at some point in my life, so I'm content with being a smaller size eventually! It's just the idea of not having my natural breast(s) that hits me hard. My new breasts will undoubtedly be a huge adjustment (or, rather, a 'smaller' adjustment, ha!), but if I can avoid more needles and surgeries in the coming decades, it'll be worth it.

Plus, I rather look forward to bra shopping and not spending $60+ per bra! (I encourage women to spend good money on comfortable, supportive bras if they can; I spent $120 and $90 on 2 bras, respectively, right before my diagnosis, and although I hated parting with my hard-earned money, they are worth every penny. The quality is amazing, and they keep me looking and feeling good even post-lumpectomy.) In addition to simple, utilitarian bras that I purchase for support, I really lust after sexy and/or feminine bras. Some of the most beautiful bras are only made in smaller cup sizes, so I'm excited to finally be able to walk into a department store and find my size! (I've gotten the whole online ordering thing down, for sure.)

I'll hopefully be either a 32C or 32D when this ordeal is over... I was a D cup in early high school and a C cup in middle school. Never really got the chance to wear Victoria's Secret Pink or anything else in neon colors!

- I'm very sorry to read about your diagnosis. It is tough and hope they caught it early enough. I've never had to face the decisions you are facing now, but since I work with bras on a daily basis I have read up on breast cancer and on implants a bit. I think that if I was in your situation I would go with a mastectomy on both sides plus a reconstruction method without implants. Reason one: mastectomy on both sides seems to me the best and safest way to combat the cancer. Reason two: implants have their own risk plus they need to be replaced after a while, usually after 10 years. You might live to be a hundred, not having a foreign object with a limited warranty in your body seems to be an advantage to me.
- *hugs* You're going through a rough time and I hope everything goes well from now on...
  
  My only real input is that if you decide for the reduction, if you say that you want to be a "D-cup" you will most likely not end up as a D-cup, as I so far haven't seen anyone doing reductions or putting in implants that has any clue of bra sizing... So, make sure that you make your vision clear. :)

Aaargh, there are days I hate Freya! Why the heck are their bras so inconsistent in sizes? I ordered the Piper balcony bra in my universal 32HH and had to send it back like a boomerang for a 30HH as it's HUGE in cups and big in the band. Now I have to wait at least two weeks before I get the exchange. Grr.

- :( I know how it is. As long as one stays with a particular style that they have done in 100 verions one is fine, but stray away from that... Well, anything can happen.
- I've noticed this too, in those models that "switch" models on size range, the continuing model usually runs much bigger, so there is a huge jump between an H and and HH cup.

PMS

My boobs scare the h-ll outta me

Seriously, I've gone from 112-116 in bust measurement in a week. I didn't even know boobs could swell that much. I go up two cup sizes on PMS.

Till next PMS I will be better prepared with 34J bras. Now I know I cannot wear any smaller size on that time of the month. ...

The mystery I cannot figure out is if my back is thinner due to migration or if I always did look like this. With a bra on I almost look thin on the upper back nowadays. It freaks me out a little as I'm very used to having a fuller back and it's kind of part of my identity.

- Thankfully I don't have pms-issues with my boobs but based on all the stories I've heard you are not alone. If someone can grew as much as from a B-cup to a C-cup (like 35%-ish), it isn't strange the increase is greater with larger boobs from the start. Sadly that doesn't help when it freaks one out and no bra fit. :(
  
  I'm a few bands smaller, but I feel sort of the same about my back. My back looks almost as if I don't have any extra fluff there at all and I swear I did have it a couple of years ago... Maybe it's the magic of of a correct fitting bra? That both allows breast tissue to migrate back and doesn't make it give that nice roll in the back...?
- About your back: Is it still smaller without a bra or just with a bra on? Because that's what I really cannot grip.
  
  I'm thinking migration also might be we just learn to tuck it all in the cups, but to make it actually stay on the boobs on their own... I don't really know what to think. For me it reduces my waist as well since I do have a really full back. I cannot tell if I'm smaller without a bra though. But I think so.
  
  But as I've been wearing too small bras for 20 years I don't really expect a miracle. I just find it all so peculiar :)

hello i have an anventures of panache sports bra ,i try 28H and it was very tight ,and it doesnt covered all my breasts and i think it was small ,then i try 30H and it was big in band and it has some space in the front place of the bra .when i pull over the back it was ... ok.i went to dressmaker and i fix the back,but she made it very tight ,i was buying the same size 5 bras ,now i dont have any i throw away ,i spent so many money ,and i realise that i must go up in back size and down a cup size ,now i have one 30GG and its very nice ,someday i hope panache made and another sizes .my advice ...THIS BRA RUN LARGE IN THE CUP AND SMALL IN THE BAND really ,beleive me

- What's your regular bra size? I ask to know where are you comparing from, in my experience Shock Absorber bras are also very short on the band, about one size smaller than expected.
- i would like the encapsulate bras this is the best if you find the right size

With a heavy heart I finally had to put one of my favourite bras into retirement. It's a Freya, and I don't know which model, since by the time I discovered Bratabase, the model number in the tag was a blur. Anyway, it's a 32GG and only now, when I'm mostly wearing 32HH, it's become too small. I'm brokenhearted, as ... the bra has been mega-comfortable, extremely durable, very very pretty and the shape it has given was perfect. No other Freya bra has scored it all and every time I buy a Freya bra I wish it had the same cut as this one. No luck so far.

  My favorite Freya was the Freya Mitzy, and it seems the similar styles have also been discontinued... RIP, Mitzy.http://www.bodybeautifullingerie.co.uk/freya-mitzy-plunge-bra.html (Actually, looking at it now I don't think it would work with my current breasts!)
- Add it like a Freya bra in a unknown-style and add pictures and hopefully someone will be able to identify it. :)

It's so hot

It's so warm here! (35-37°C, 95-100°F) So mostly I'm not wearing a bra if I can help it... Unpadded bras are still made from nonbreathing material, the only cotton bra I have is padded, and my bikini still feels too warm.
But how do you solve this if you don't feel okay without a bra? *sweat sweat*

- I find my mesh bras to be more comfortable and breezy than my cotton-lined or satiny ones. Look for Freya Leona, Eleanor, Lyla and Arabella.
- Same thing here, mesh bras are great! Don't know what size you are at, but apart from the Freya bras Bravissimo Alana is also great. :)
  
  It's a bit like clothes in function materials for training, cotton isn't always the best as it absorbs the sweat and takes time to dry. Synthetic material that don't cause any extra heat and dryes quickly are usually the best. :)
