I’m very confused about what cup depth I should be looking for as my depth seems to be different between the lined and unlined bras. Now, it’s possible that it is a result of the measurements that I am taking since I am still newish to it all, and might have minor inconsistencies, but it seems like it’s a pretty ... big difference and I don’t understand why. I’m going to list my bras, sizes, depth, and how they fit but split them into lined and sizes unlined so that you can see where my confusion lies...
Lined:
La Senza So Free Lightly Lined Balconette 32D (8.0) — is slightly too small for my larger breast and I have slight puffing or pillowing, but it’s not what I would call quadding; maybe a tiny bit shows under thin tops; 32DD is mostly ok but has a little more gapping and the band is not as good
Ewa Michalak S Szykus 70E (8.3) — slight puffing on bigger side with no cookies in and definitely more with the cookies in; puffing/pillowing is more from nipples to gore from center full tissue; I think that it mostly doesn’t show under tops but might if I have the cookies in; unsure if I should get a size up or perhaps this style just runs smaller (I’ve got nothing to compare it with)
Comexim Victoria Half Cup 3HC 60HH (8.3) — seems mostly ok...maybe slight puffing near the gore from center full tissue; unsure if the cup up would be too large
Ewa Michalak Pl Carmen 70E (8.5) — mostly ok...some center full spilling at the gore (more spilling with cookies); unsure how 70F would fit
Freya Deco Spotlight 32DD (8.3) — same as above but maybe a little more spilling (tried on a 28FF and cups were fine except the low gore and soft center full tissue but I didn’t measure the bra at the shop); I think it’s a titch too small and a cup up is/would be better
Lepel Lilly 30E (8.3) — slightly digs in and minor puffing quadding; probably need a larger cup
Ewa Michalak Mp Kleksik 65F (9.3) — was pretty good but maybe a touch of gapping (never got to try it with cookies)
Unlined:
Curvy Kate Ellace latte 30E (8.8) — cuts into center full tissue; slightly too small cups; in cup quadding; plans for trying the 30F and maybe 32E because it’s a tight band
Curvy Kate Ellace crimson 30E (8.8) —see above, only the ribbon from stretch lace on cups seems to be a little tighter and cuts in more than the latte
Cleo Marcie 30F (9.7) — lower cup is great but upper lace is a little loose (slightly loose on my larger side but it looks like it lies fairly flat but definitely more gapping on my small side); unsure if I can size down in the cup based on the lower cup fit...it’s probably more shape mismatch as I am somewhat even to full on bottom
La Senza So Free Balconette 32DD (9.0) — mostly good but it is a little bit small and the ribbon that lines the upper cup cuts in; probably a size issue and maybe a shape issue but I never tried a 32DDD in it
Curvy Kate Bardot 30FF (9.5) — cups were a little bit big...they seemed ok on the bottom but too much material on top even though it closed in pretty quickly
The Ellace bras might measure as much as 9.1 deepening on the measure and whether I’m measuring the cups from the outside or inside. The Marcie measurements are somewhere between 9.5 and 10. I’m getting some inconsistencies when I’m measuring because I am trying to figure out what the deepest part of the cups is
If I looked at a lined bra that measured 9.5, I feel like the cups would be huge based on how the lined bras measure. An unlined bra of 8.3 would surely be too small. So what gives? Am I just really bad at measuring? I don’t think I am, because the small measurements seem consistent with the lined and the bigger ones with the unlined bras. Also, when I receive a new bra from the listings, I measure and then check the measurements the previous person (people) to see how close I am to them and if it varies, I try measuring again to see if I can get what they had (sometimes I don’t and leave it with what I get). Is there something that I don’t know about the measurements of everything?
Thanks in advance!

If you hold the bra horizontally with the bra cup pushed out, what’s the angle on the bottom look like compared to another cut?
Photos would definitely help! In most bras wrinkling happens for all kinds of reasons. Sometimes it's actually the strain on the cup structure from a breast that is heavier and more projected than it can handle. Also few breast roots EXACTLYYYY match the neat geometric shape and the precise location of a bra wire so if you are a bit wider set than the wires for example, that can also do it, even if the bra is shoving your boobs a little closer together with the wires effectively sitting relatively close to your IMF.
