I'm looking for thong high waist shapewear

Hey guys, I just wanted to share this review of a (prototype) Trusst bra. This company was posted here a while ago and I was curious about it's construction. Instead of an underwire it seems like it has a flat rigid piece. Actually, it kind of reminds me of the Wonderbra Ultimate Strapless Bra (9468) minus the hand part. Anyway, I hope you guys enjoy the article!

Yeah, i saw that. Interesting, but I'm still not convinced. Obviously they still have a ways to go
The flat rigid underwire replacement material is not as adjustable as an underwire, so would have to be more precise on width and shape, but would spread the weight of breasts over a larger surface area, so *might* be more comfortable if it fit well.

So about those knickers...
I don't know why it hadn't occurred to me before, what with how bra bands and tight waistbands on lower rise pants affect the way body fat can tend to appear thanks to the ongoing regular constriction...but...I've noticed that many of my lower-rise knickers are settling into a new dent they might have actually been creating much ... like low rise pants would do at the hip (which is one of the reasons I don't buy pants with a low rise if I can avoid them) and it's not a size issue per se. I did a bit of research with going up a size and found those knickers were too big in the front and to a lesser degree too big in back. It may be an issue caused by the cut, the way industry sizes knickers, or a combination of factors which my body simply isn't shaped for. The more fabric a certain style of knickers has, the worse it fits on me - high cuts and briefs, in particular. The materials used could contribute to the situation but that would likely need to be in conjunction with the construction process - stitching the extremely narrow elastic to cotton blends will take on a particular appearance which going through the laundry a lot has the time to cause such an effect.
Having recently-ish lost some weight around my midsection, maybe the dent has been there I just couldn't see past my boobs and tummy before? Anyone else have some insight and possible suggestions for a non-surgical solution? I still can't see my feet, but that's because my boobs are in the way, and the size my feet are - I think...

I agree with you that this can happen but I think you'd have to be wearing your undies quite tight to get a lasting indent. Are you sure this isn't one of the delightful effects of weight loss and/or the passage of time? As skin loses elasticity due to either one of the above, we usually start to look generally lumpier and less smooth.

While both are certainly possible, I've asked the Mr and he had an interesting point about my tendency to wear knickers under tights and stockings - which may just be his mind working at ways to get me to go commando but I'll play along if it is about that for the moment - and sitting down a lot for work with both layers on under a skirt may contribute to the issue. I suppose I'll have to forgo one or the other to see if it helps.

So, I was thinking (there I go again):
As the terms for single items, the English language gives us:
"pair of panties";
"pair of knickers";
"pair of jeans";
"pair of pants";
"pair of shorts";
"pair of underwear";
"pair of glasses"
"pair of pliers"
"pair of scissors" (there are probably more).
So why is the term for bra not "pair of bras";
the term for corset not "pair of corsets";
the term for girdle not "pair of girdles?

Well, corsets and girdles dont have 2 of something - pants and underwear have 2 leg holes and glasses have 2 lenses, etc. Bras, though . . idk. Because it covers your bosom, not your pair of breasts lol
All I can say (as a native speaker, no less) is the English language is weird!

Hi,I'm hoping to find someone in the UK who goes to the post office fairly often and I could use their address to send some clothes to,from ebay UK purchases.Some sellers do not post at all to the US,or ship through the global shipping program and if I want to buy from several different sellers,a few items ends up being way out of my budget with 30 GBP for shipping alone when by weight it'd be 8 or less.
I'd be paying for postage through paypal.

For pure curiosity's sake, what countries don't post to the U.S.??
It's the sellers who don't.

New York & Company is now carrying sizes 0P - 16P online and in select stores. I don't know which stores carry petites, but you can always call ahead to see if the one near you has them.

New York and Co has always had petite clothes... I know because I buy my trousers there and am always having to search through the plethora of petite pants before I see the elusive Tall label.
Yep, ny and co has always done petites. I shop at the limited often, and they have petites and tall sizes online exclusively.
Do you mind if your bra shows through your close or does it have to be hidden at all times?

I prefer not to have anything show through my clothes. For me, it messes up the line of the clothing. I like cute patterns on bras and prefer something "pretty" to something plain, but lace and seams are annoying for me, which is a problem because padded half cups are my best fit.
If it's a white t-shirt I need to wear a beige t-shirt bra with it.
I don't mind if a bit of lace or color shows through, especially if it matches my outfit. But I wouldn't go too far, lol.

Supreme jeans has been discounted and PZI Jeans bit big for me it fits but I prefer something tight feeling when I'm wearing my jeans so I wish I could have size 2 or 0 if they had
that's it this is all I know the brand for curvy girl what else do you know? can you name it?

A lot of US brands have a curvy fit. Eddie Bauer, Calvin Klein, Levi's, Lucky, Silver Jeans, etc., all have curvy styles. I like Silver Jeans Sukis, Lucky Sweet Jeans and Sofia's, Eddie Bauer Curvy or Slightly Curvy, Calvin Klein Curvy Skinny, etc.
There's a few brands at kohls that have curvy styles. Look online for ones that specifically say 'curvy' since these brands make curvy, slim, and regular fit. I have a curvy fit Gloria Vanderbilt, tried on curvy fit Elle (ordered long by mistake so I returned), and the J Lo brand fits curvy (though it doesn't say curvy in the name). The jLo's are my favorite but the others fit well too.

My lingerie says I'm very girly
and my outfit says I'm chic and outgoing independent woman
why is it so different?

I think you're both, Girlfriend; you're chic and independent on the outside, and girly on the inside! ;)
I did about two seconds of wardrobe assessment after reading your post and realized I was contemplating my wardrobe while in PJ pants and a hoodie smashing Cheetos in my face, lol. I think we all have different sides/faces we put forward with our appearance depending on the situation or what message we're trying to convey. My lingere is more "sexy" while my daily attire is very chic and classic, and well I just told mentioned my current outfit. I do the same with with hair & cosmetics too! You do you and do it hard :)

Oh my gosh, this is literally a dream come true.
Oh I love that dress!!!!
I cleared out my closet, you can find the bras that I sell on my listings here:
http://bra.pe/UBG6/listings/
I do have a few items of clothing for sale too:
BiuBiu Portofino top red 42BB/BBB 12£
Lady V Isabella Dress size 20/22 poppy print 30$
Collectif Dolores Doll black cherry stem dress 12 30£
Collectif Melody Skirt powder blue size 18 17£
Collectif Liesel Skirt ... gingham size 18 20£
I think, I will clear out a few more BiuBiu / and Urkye tops...I do like my tops, they fit well on the boobs, but they are all sooo short! I either wear dresses or Jeans and if I wear Jeans I want tops that are long enough to cover my belly even when I lift my arms. I could wear short tops with skirts but I barely have any good ones... Maybe I just need to order bigger sizes because my boobs take more room in them than they should? (I wear only BB/BBB or oo/ooo sizes with BiuBiu and Urkye)
does anyone have these problems with bust-friendly tops too?

Well, at least its good to hear you complain about the shirt problem. I think of your profile pic and how taht shirt seems to fit so well - esp considering the 'clothed' pics I just took of my new polish bras ,and how baggy and clearly not-fitting that t-shirt was. I am short and still have that tops-not-covering-the-waist problem. But I havent tried any specific bust-friendly clothing, i just look for stuff taht might work in regular stores
The shirt on my profile pic is not from a bust friendly brand. But it's a very soft and stretchy cotton fabric. I was a 30K/32JJ when I took this pic so the shirt used to fit better, now at 34KK it is much too short :S
I find it weird that I have the "too short shirt problem" even with the bust-friendly brands. There should be enough room for the boobs to the shirts fit like if I had smaller boobs (that would fit into high street brands) shouldn't they?
Also lately I discovered that I like some high street brand soft stretchy cotton shirts better than my BiuBiu and Urkye ones. If i take 1 size up, they are good in lenght. Also I don't like them to fit too tightly since I don't want to show all my rolls :S I feel uncomfortable in solid colored shirts that show off all my rolls (under the bra band and above my jeans waist seam). Stripes or prints are really great to distract from them.

Anyone interested in some of my handmade garments? I've got this up on reddit too but figured I'd give you guys a heads up. (@jj feel free to pull this if it breaks any rules!)
Handmade Dresses and Blouses
I make most of my own dresses and blouses. I am not professionally trained. I took home ec ... in 6th grade and taught myself everything from there. That being said, I would not list anything that I would not be willing to spend money on myself. Sizes are approximate, ask questions. All materials have been pre-washed. Can be machine washed in cold water (separate from abrasives like jeans. close all zippers before washing), dry low heat or hang dry. Ships from US, not included.

As I've previously mentioned, I do taxes for a living, and when I get deep into tax season, like now, I start dreaming about taxes. Which I did last night. But somehow, my brain conflated the subject of taxes with the subject of corsets. I dreamt last night that we had a client that had complex corset-related tax issues! oy

actually one of my fave bloggers posted about a bad dream - coffee related, had to fill out a form and couldnt get a coffee. He said he woke up, ran downstairs and hugged his espresso maker!
Mine have all been nightmarish lately, so I'd rather the tax dreams!

i'd say a classic pea coat works in both of those seasons and then the color i'd say a yellowish one would also work for both seasons :)
as for one to buy, i'm at a loss as i find mine usually in free boxes around town, lol :) good luck. :)
I love trench coats for light weather. I've got 2 tan (1 basic with removable lining and one with full skirt and peter pan collar), a green with bell sleeves, a white, and just ordered a pale pink from kohls! (Comes in black too) You could try resale shops or places like Marshall's/TJMaxx. Something with a belt is more likely to fit both boobs and waist

I noticed that too, but haven't found anything! If you use the search function on the site, it'll bring up the last ones in stock (at deep discounts). It's terrible that they never sold the Supreme in as many cuts/colors as the other shapes =(
I found my HG (holy grail) jeans - levi 526 skinny boot cut, which is a slightly narrower boot cut, a mid-rise, and the most awesome blend of cotton and stretch EVER, on Ebay. And for like....20 bucks. So I stocked up with oh...6 pairs. I didn't want to take the chance of not seeing that style again, and I had just given away most of my other jeans so replenishing my closet o'jeans was necessary.
I can justify buying all kinds of things. What are you all doing just sitting around, don't you have more bras to buy!?

We're with you, Girl! : )
Thanks to the generous cooperation of alisa, I was able to take my new 38G - Freya Swim » Pier Halter Bikini Top (3019) out for a test drive this afternoon. The sun was out and it was warm enough (for me, at least) to catch some desperately-needed solar radiation. So I did. It was glorious! ... To feel the sun on my skin again after lo these many dark and dreary months was heavenly.
But ... it brought to mind the troubling issue of tan lines. Or not so troubling, if they don't bother you. Where do you stand? I have so many strappy tops that I wind up with some weird mish-mash of tan lines all over my upper back, so I guess I don't really care. 'Tis not like I'm looking at my back all the time.

Not to change the subject, but do you find you deal with more depression/hormone issues in the winter months? I've heard sunlight, or simulated sunlight, can help with that during the winter months. They make bulbs that simulate sunlight.
Seasonal affective disorder. I've considered that before, but if I do have it, it gets lost amidst all the other crap I struggle with. I just wish I'd learn to keep my mouth shut and learn how to be a lurker. I'm so sorry for the hurt and trouble I always manage to cause. I hate living with the consequences of my actions.

I'm not complaining, but this is something entirely new to me. It doesn't have anything to do with bras, and I wasn't even wearing one today when this happened, although I was, nevertheless, still quite modest. I was riding down in the elevator with an older man and we were talking about how nice the weather had been ... the past couple of days. And when he stepped off at his stop, he said "enjoy the beautiful day, sweetie." I was completely nonplussed. I've never had a guy say that to me. It did put a big smile on my face afterward.
Yesterday, whilst I was awaiting the elevator, a random guy came up to me and started talking with me about my high heels. He wondered if they made my back hurt, because his ex-girlfriend used to wear heels but had to quit because they made her back hurt. Très bizarre.
I know it means I must be doing something right with respect to my appearance, but damn! It feels like I've been tossed into the deep end of the pool!

Maybe these men sensed your corset-confidence!
But ... but ... I'm not even interested in guys!
But yea, the corset does amazing things for me.
