This bra is beautiful, but it is meant for someone a bit more top heavy and wider rooted than I am. I think the bra I got had a manufacturing issue: the right cup is 1.8cm larger at the depth than the left. My left side is larger, but not so much that there would be as much extra gapping as I saw. The band is also more stretchy than the other Aubade I have, and it is only barely tight enough on the middle hook. I don't think it had enough lower projection either, and the straps were too tight and pulled the sides more taught taut than was appropriate. I would have gotten a 28 band if they offered it, but this band almost fit closer to a 32 on me than a 30. Otherwise, this was a soft bra with comfortable straps, band, and cup lining.
The quality of all the little details on this bra is astounding, however sadly it is too big so it will have to be returned. Interestingly, the other Aubade padded half cup I tried was too small (it was a 80F), so I thought 80G would be my size, but there is tons and tons of room in the cups that I can't fill.
I love everything about this bra. All the little details are what make it so amazing for me (see pictures!). Fit-wise, this fits just like the other spacer plunge bra I have from Aubade, which is great! The cups are tall however due to the spacer foam, it's not hard to fill them out.
This is the non-padded/molded version. Compared to the padded version, the cups are much, much larger.
This version has sheer, two part (one single seam down the middle) cups. The lace and detailing is absolutely gorgeous. There are so many beautiful details to this bra and photos don't do it justice.
Fit wise, I would call it narrow and projected. The straps are comfortable, and the best part is, they aren't so wide that they're in my arm pits! Nearly all half cups seem to give me this issue since I'm pretty petite, but that is not an issue here.
As someone with short and narrow roots, this is the first molded bra that has fit properly - ever! It does seem to be a just a teensy bit on the shallow side of things, so if you are rather projected, it may not work for you. I love the look of the lace on both the sides of the bra as well as the straps. The gore runs a little higher and wider than most plunge bras.
If you are looking for perfect nipple coverage, then I will warn that they can poke through the fabric just a bit.
The fit of this bra is really strange. The tops of the cups are super open and wide and very deep for the size. There is an extra piece of elastic that attaches from the strap to the top of the cup, and the angle means there is no way it would ever lay flat (at least, I don’t see how it could). I’m not sure who this is meant to fit.
Based on the wire width and cup depth, this should have fit me… but it didn’t. There is something about the shape of Aubade wires that just doesn’t work for me. I think they splay too far out into my armpit, which makes an otherwise narrow wire shorter and wider. The straps are always too wide set for me, too.
Extremely pretty bra. The cups run somewhat large, so that getting a cup size too small (only the 'comfort' half cups were available in a 80F) wasn't an issue. VERY slight quadding, nothing to be worried about. If you're in between sizes, pick the smaller one. The band runs very loose. This is technically a French 80 band, but could have easily fooled me to be a 85 or even tight 90 band. Definitely go down one band size if you're able to, or even two sizes if you're already on the smaller side of one. I'm considering altering it, because I'd like to wear this bra more often. The ...straps don't adjust all the way and could not be made quite short enough for me, but I do overall need quite short straps. Am considering to implement some alterations there too. Wires are somewhat narrow, though not to the extreme, and do easily bend plus are very soft, so that I had no trouble with them even though I technically have wider roots. I wished the gore would have been narrower, but I can get away with it.
All in all, this is not a great fit, BUT it is in no way actually uncomfortabel to wear, and succeeds in lifting the girls and creating a great shape even with the straps too long and the band too loose. Gives a very flattering shape. Will return to update on the quality after I've worn it more often. Read more 136 more words
I'm a 32H(US), and both the band and the cup size are too big for me in this size. Also, the wire height and straps indicate that this size would be better for someone taller and broader-shouldered than me. I'm hoping that the 32G/85G will fit, because I got it for a song, and I love the shape and lift this bra gives me. And it's so pretty! Luckily, Amazon is letting me exchange it for the 32G at the same price!
I'm madly in love with this bra. So the gore is a tad wide, and I'm not using the loosest hook. If they made it in an 80H, I'd snap it up. 85G on the middle hook will have to do. The Printemps color is pink with white lace, fuchsia/purple embroidery and wide fuchsia ribbons for straps, which are lined with a soft jersey material. It looks like a bra that a Disney princess would wear.
I bought this bra for a really great deal on Amazon. I figured the cups would be a bit small when I ordered it, but they actually gape a bit due to my lack of upper fullness. I think this bra may be better for someone with my upper or even fullness, as opposed to bottom fullness. I also find the straps to be way too wide for me. I've only worn this bra once for about 3-4 hrs and it was definitely starting to chaff my underarms by the end of wearing it. I also find the band to be on the stretchier side of the 32 bands I own. I kept it because of how cheap I bought it for and how pretty it is. The embroidery is absolutely stunning in person and the bra is very well made.
Soft, comfortable and pretty. The padding however is so light my nipples shows through, even with nipple covers under. The straps are too stretchy, although the appears to give proper support when I first put it on - the bra slides down within minutes of moving as the straps stretch out. The band is too loose - which doesn't help.
Traveled quite far to go to what was supposed to be a bra shop which had a wide range of bras in different sizes and who were knowledgeable in proper fitting. There wasn't that many bras at all in my size which was very disappointing. I have never had any ...assistance in the fitting room before, so I questioned my own perception and knowledge instead of the - in hindsight - clearly incorrect methods the saleswoman used to make the bra appear to fit (she loosened the straps all the way down and slid her finger across the upper edge of the cup to disguise the quadboob problem) when she got annoyed at the time I took trying bra after bra and so I bought this very expensive bra that I can really only use while lounging at home - not at all what I wanted it for. This bra's measurements have been altered
Gore modified to allow more inner and upper fullness and shorten the band
The wires are super painful. They were poking me in both the gore and under my arms. The cups are too big but it's not worth sizing down because it's not the right shape for my breasts.
I went to a local highly rated D+ bra boutique to buy a bra that actually fits and I was really disappointed by both my experience and the fit of this bra. When I decided to spend the inordinate amount of money this bra costs I did not realize the cups were not wide enough for my shape and because I was new to properly fitting bras I trusted the fitter who said it was a good fit. Two weeks later the band was so loose it would ride up my back and the underwire would lift over my breast when I would raise my arms. Moral of the story don't trust salespeople especially if you are not well versed in what you are buying.
I wish Aubade made 28 UK band equivalents, but I can wear this 30 on the middle or tightest hook well. These bras are very nice and the cups fit quite well giving a nice lifted and rounded look. Add matching panties, they are beautiful and well-fitting. Expensive, so look for sales.
