Awesome sports bra. Fits really well, really supportive. I like that you can change the straps to a racerback configuration. Not too loose but not too tight, and was a great style on me.

Very comfortable, and Velcro over-shoulder straps are easy enough to adjust while on. Soft lined cups, not molded, but lined enough that they can hold shape a little. Size 10 Aus (Uk 32) is the smallest back size but I find it quite firm on the tightest hook that it doesn't budge - definitely no band riding (in Freya I currently wear 30 which is slightly too big for my 26in under bust). This bra would be suitable for moderate exercise - I can jog in it without it hurting, but there is still noticeable bounce. However I normally wear a size small unpadded Lorna Jane crop over all my sports bras just for extra support. I would not recommend this for high impact exercise on its own - I actually find it so comfortable I'm wearing it as a house bra on the weekend to save my normal bras some wear! Fits very well in the cups - no exceptional uplift, more a supported natural shape really.

Fits more like a 28C bra. I bought this for a girl child of mine. Colours are hip with sturdy construction.

I have now included it in my rotation. I have gained a bit of perimenopausal chub, but letting out the straps allows for more upper fullness. It lasts the day, and I have stripped coordinating undies. It is good to go for yoga or other activities. It is one of the few bras I own where I did not have to make alterations for a good fit. That alone is a big win!

This bra looks very sturdy and well made. The cup is made of at least two layers of fabric, one very stretchy on top with a pattern that resembles an abstract animal print, and a thick layer on the inside. The inside of the cup has an imprinted leaf pattern on the bottom and the top, not sure whether this is for support purposes or how comfortable it is. The straps are very thick, not necessarily as width but as thickness. The straps are half adjustable and they are removable in the back, to be able to cross them. This can be useful for people with narrow shoulders ... or who would need to tighten the straps more than is allowed by the half adjustable straps. The material on the straps resembles a towel fabric. A similar fabric is found on the inside of the wing and gore. The band is made of a double layer of fabric, with all the seams on the inside, so that the band going in contacts with the skin is smooth. This seems to be a very nice detail.
The size is out of my size range, so I cannot judge the comfort or fit.

Lovely looking bra. When it was new the elastic gave good support, but the cups always felt a bit shallow & this effect was exacerbated as the bra aged. Never uncomfortable though, just an increasing tendency to fall out of it as the elastic aged.

I brought this in a 32e (10e) because it isn't available in a 30 (8). Considering it is a 32 it isn't as much too big as would expect. I can wear it on the middle hook, but it is not as supportive or comfortable as on the tightest. If it came in a size smaller that would be better, but I can make do with this size (and I will take it in if itstretches).
I like the shape. I feel like it holds my breasts up well and gives a nice round shape.

Unfortunately the right side of the cup the lace curls over a bit and won't sit flat. This is a bit frustrating, but doesn't really affect the fit or shape or support.

After just a few wears this bra had stretched and i can no longer wear it. I guess it is a lesson for myself that i shouldnt try and make do with backs that are too big ie buy 10e just because it is easier...

This bra is very comfortable, fits perfectly & is ideal for wearing under t-shirts. It is my only 'E' cup bra. I wear it when I take my dog to agility training & it keeps my breasts in place when we run around - I wouldn't rely on it for anything really active though, where *I* am jumping around.

The only negative is that it is the third one I have owned because in the first 2 the underwire on one side broke through in the gore area & was poking up. This occurred in the first month of ownership & I always put the bras on properly & hand washed them. The current one is still holding well after several months of use. Therefore I've only marked the quality as "Okay".

This is a bra I've had for some time, probably 2 years or more & it has held up well, with very little wear showing except for a bit of lightening of the fabric along the underwire on the inside of the bra. It is very comfortable, but at the bottom of the cups the band could be slightly firmer as sometimes my breasts do not feel quite secure.

Great initial fit, still fits really well in the cups. Is a favourite. However the band is quite stretchy, so it has become quite loose within a few months. The fabric is lovely- so soft and comfortable, and it looks great under clothes. My one issue is that I had to return one bra to the shop I brought it from because the underwires popped out within a few months of buying it.

I bought this bra way back when, before I'd been fitted properly (and before the weight gain AFTER I'd been fitted properly and subsequently gained two cup sizes)... For obvious reasons, I don't believe I can adequately review the fit. Back when my boobs could feasibly at least make it into the cups, I remember this model of bra being reasonably comfy, if (with hindsight) ill-fitting. This used to be my go-to - I had five of them in different colours, because it was the one bra that sort-of worked. Berlei seems to have decided to continue the prints on these to the wings, as well ... as on the inside of the wings (the part that lies against your skin and isn't visible during wear). This is an interesting contrast to all the full-bust bras I've tried, where only one extended the print on the cups to the wings and even then, left the insides of the wings plain (the CK Smoothie).

I have to also give Berlei credit for trying to make an extension onto their normal sizing system and resisting the urge to go for monster straps. This bra's got the thinnest straps of any that I own, so I can respect them trying to make something that won't be completely unwearable with tank tops, even though I can't wear this myself. The materials it's made with are also very soft and comfortable.

In short, although this bra is unwearable for me personally (I had a bit of a laugh trying it on), I am a fan of it on behalf of people who would actually be correctly fitted into its size range.

The band is a bit too big but this bra doesn't come in a smaller size. The black bra is a slightly smaller fit than the white one I have of the same size/style presumably due to the effect of the dark dye. The wires are a touch narrow so I have a bit of "orange in a glass" happening in the bottom of the cup. Straps are comfortable and the moulded cups give a nice smooth look under clothing.

NB: This is a bra which has been discovered during a drawer cleanup. It's both very old and very worn! The cup depth and width measurements should be accurate, but I would be uncertain about the accuracy of any band measurements. No tag left sorry Jj.

The Berlei Sweatergirl range seem pretty typical of the type of bras used to fit more women into less sizes. They're fairly full coverage and a one-piece cup, with what appear to be somewhat wide wires, thick, close-set straps, and from my memory in the standby colours of white, beige, slightly darker beige and black. This one is 'slightly darker beige', although it ... is quite faded now. They fasten with 3 rows of 3 columns of hooks. The straps are partially adjustable.

When I was in high school, my family hadn't quite figured out the internet yet, so the smallest band size and biggest cups was very simply what was available in our department stores (Grace Brothers (now Myer) and David Jones). I was so slight as a teen, that even the standard +4 measuring tapes used in Australian bra stores didn't actually put me into a 10 (32) band, but my bust size did. So this style is (in gradually increasing cup sizes) what I wore for most of my school days.

Pros: It doesn't show up under thin, light coloured uniform shirts. The materials are very sturdy, so I outgrew the bra before I outwore it. The full coverage and fairly wide band meant that the bra was fairly comfortable to wear, despite me knowing now that it was a very poor fit.

Cons: I honestly suspect that the design of this sort of bra would not fit a woman who uses Bratabase standards of bra fit (roughly a 32" underbust and roughly a 38" bust) owing to the relatively deep, closed cups and full coverage, which are unlike the breast shape of most women in this size range (who usually have comparatively tall and shallow breasts).

Additional thoughts: I wonder why full-bust bra companies cannot adapt some of the features used by mainstream companies for their largest cup sizes, as whilst most women wearing DD-E cups probably don't require full coverage, broad bands and centred straps, women in J+ cups would appreciate these features. As a small framed, very large busted woman, I seem limited to balcony styles which end up with straps which would like to sit 2-3" out on my arms and very high-cut armholes which rub under my armpits and are uncomfortable. While balcony cuts are 'cute' and nice for a special occasion, for everyday wear, I'd really prefer something in a similar style to this.

    • Seeing this bra is a total blast from the past. Is it just me or did sizes used to be bigger then. Eg. A 10E back then was way bigger in the bust that the 10E's of today? I feel like bras have gotten smaller.

    • 1

I'm not sure. The only way to really tell would be to actually compare this bra to others of a comparable size. It totally does have much more coverage than I think would be necessary for someone who we'd consider to be in this size range, so I guess there's more volume available.

This bra has the most gorgeous lace pattern! It feels luxurious on. The straps are on the narrow side, but don't budge from my shoulders. The band is nice and firm, it fits well. The cups enclose my breast tissue adequately, but the gore doesn't tack. My breasts also fall towards the centre of the bra throughout the day. I think the gore is a little too short for me. The only point of discomfort is the tall boning on the side of the bra. It's far too tall for me and pokes me relentlessly! Definitely a fancy bra that can also be worn to work - however the lace does show through tight, sheer fabrics.
