It could be a fine bra, but simply not for my shape despite bratabase research. The wires are way too U-shaped for my splayed roots and the cups lack depth at the wire and general projection, despite also weirdly wrinkling right above the apex. Also, if you're in between 26 and 28 bands like I am (26,5 snug underbust) it might be too big in the band.
Really useful review, thanks! It's a pretty bra, too bad not the best fitting. We're quite similar, I realised in shape, size and measurements. I'm around a 26.25/26.5 UB and I wear 26 bands. With 28s, the wires move around. I wouldn't dare to wear a 28 😂
Just about a perfect fit! Due to my uneven chest, the larger side is a bit too big to fit fully in the cup but it's a good enough fit for me. No chance of escapees from the top or bottom. Band size fits me perfectly. This is my first time having a bra in my true size and I'm loving it!
Style and material: The Bravissimo Millie is a non-padded balconette bra with floral-style lacing on both the cups and the band. The inside of the bra and lining on the cups and extra material on the band presumably for reinforcement and extra bust support. This bra looks delicate but feels rather sturdy, comparing it to my Bravissimo Stella, there is less give in the material which is excellent if you're looking for a bra that doesn't wear out easily. On initial wear, the Millie almost feel a bit suffocating but not overly-tight as I wasn't used to wearing bras of the correct band size and ...such feeling disappeared after a couple wears. This was also the first bra I wore with underwires in years, and I wouldn't recommend this as a starter bra as the underwire, an therefore the gore is super stiff and can be a bit painful if you're not used to them or have sensitive skin. After a few days of wear and breaking into the bra, a lot of the initial discomfort disappeared. Unfortunately I still have issues with the material of the bra straps as the material feels a bit scratchy on my skin after 6+ hours of moving about at work but overall its not unbearable.
Shape - bra vs me: Oh boy, the Millie makes my breasts look AMAZING! It provides great lift and centres the tissue which I recommend if you have wide set breasts like mine. This bra also seems to create the illusion of 'top-fullness' which is another bonus. Unfortunately, the shape just isn't built for me. I feel some emptiness at the bottom of the cup which doesn't cause any discomfort but is a clear sign that I still haven't found my IT bra. As well as this, I have that same wrinkling in the material on the right cup (smaller breast) with every other non-padded bra I've owned.
The size (28E): The size seems ideal, the cup size down cause my breasts to spill over the top and made them appear flattened. The band is honestly perfect, it sits in place all day and I'm still wearing it on the loosest set of hooks as it hasn't stretched out much at all since it's purchase.
TL;DR: The Bravissimo Millie is a balconette style bra which provides great lift and support. If you want a bra to make your breasts seem perky, full-looking, and close set then this is the one for you. However, it's tough wiring and slightly scratchy straps means it can be quite an uncomfortable bra for those who are new to underwires or have sensitive skin. It unfortunately didn't meet my expectations of a well fitting bra due to the gap between my breast tissue and the bottom of the bra. Read more 360 more words
Scratchy might be because it is new and will take a few washes to relax. But if it’s not the right shape, you got other more important issues to deal with.
Also, the gore looks too wide for you. But it’s really lovely looking on you.
Calluna Thank you for that feedback, and I agree with you there.
This has become one of my favourite bras!!! Love the elegant satine look, jade colour and the fit is just amazing. I am probably between a 28dd and 28e but the dd was just too small causing a double boob effect. The bra advisor also agreed that the 28E looked much better on me. It fits well on my bigger boob but there is slight gaping on the right boob, especially when I bend over https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
The other thing is it not seemless so is visible under clothing. But this is definitely an everyday bra. I'm thinking about getting the nude satine ...in the next few months!!! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />))
Oh and a tip for you ladies - the bra runs small, so I would suggest sizing up one or even two cups! I am a 28dd in panache but a 28E in bravissimo satine range.
Update: I love the fit, look and comfort feel so much that I decided the buy the beige one too!! However the beige one seems to show some headlights..... And I had just realised after taking the tags off https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> Read more 92 more words
I was so hopeful the Satine would work for me, but alas. I love the simple vintage look, and it's a true plunge. I think it's very close to fitting, but the side of the cup cuts into my armpit a little and the gore doesn't lay flat (happens with all my bras). There's also a small wrinkle happening, but I can't figure out why. I would keep it if it weren't for the cup digging into my armpit- I only noticed that after wearing it for an hour. I'm a true 26 band and it's possible that this would have been solved if a 26 band had been available. I have tall roots, average? projection, and I'm close set.
The band has a similar firmness to my Cleo bras, fits snug but not uncomfortable. The gore is high which I thought would be a problem as I am quite center full and have had a lot of issues with higher gores digging in. However, the gore tacks, does not sit on breast tissue, and I actually don't even feel it at all. The wires are surprisingly comfortable but are on the wider side. I am slightly FoT/closer to even fullness with average projection and firm/self-supporting tissue. There is not enough projection at the bottom of the cup for my shape so the material folds there. The wire ...moves below my IMF over the course of the day. The construction of the cup is stretch lace and gives a nice smooth and rounded shape, no cone boob! The straps are wider set and the material does cut in slightly in my armpit and shoulder blade. After several hours of wear this chafes and becomes uncomfortable. If you have wide shoulders and do not have much bottom projection, this may be a good one for you. Read more 77 more words
While I felt this fit nicely when buying the bra, upon further experience (and educating myself more) I feel the size (28DD) is right but the shape is not. The underwires don't curve enough for me and extend too far to the sides. The straps are too wide on my shoulders and the sides of the cups dig into my armpit tissue. This makes it uncomfortable to wear for longer periods or even a full day. I also feel it makes my breasts look very "flat" under tops compared to other bras I own. The seams on the cups run more diagonally than I'm used to (parallel to armpit/slanted instead ...of more vertical), which I feel might contribute to the weird shape. Could be a pro for people looking for something that minimizes, but personally it feels like it flattens my breast tissue to the sides instead of lifting it up more towards the center.I guess the cups are too shallow.
Pros: the color is a nice match for my skin tone, and the straps can be converted into a racerback style.
NB: Judging from pictures in the bratabase, and because this model was not listed yet, I think this is a new iteration for @Bravissimo's earlier @Niya model with code LN468. Read more 99 more words
The bra is closed on top and shallow on the bottom, but the cup depth is closer to 28E than 28DD. It should fit someone with at least average root height but lacks top fullness. I normally wear 28DD and have short roots. The 28E Satine is too tall and have too much top volume for me.
I wear this bra quite a lot even though the back is a tiny bit loose on me as a lot of 28 backs can be but it's manageable. It's nice to have an ivory colour instead of white as its looks better on my pale skin. It's shine and the little mesh trim sewn into the binding on the top of the cups along with the button at the gore gives a feminine understated look that is sophisticated but not too girly. It has fully adjustable straps which is great for my reasonably small shoulders. It's got a fairly deep plunge with a slightly rounded shape on the fullness of the cups so it's good for a lot of plunging necklines but not if they're too low (I wear Cleo Neve in these instances). However, the satine also gives a lovely rounded shape under different necklines so it's the best of both.
So close! Very nice, soft, flexible wires. The first bra I've found with wide enough wires for me... just a shape mismatch in the cups. Straps are way too far apart for me.Very beautiful bra.
I am absolutely gutted that this doesn't fit. I love it so much but the cup is just huge on me. It's massive on the top (so big I even had to double check I had the right size). I have full on bottom boobs, so although I filled the bottom fine, the top gaped ridiculously. Ideally, I'd need a 28DD, but the sizing doesn't go that low. Such a shame https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" />
Stunning bra - I never realised I could have natural clevage without padding. Very happy https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
I normally wear 28F but sized down in the cups after reading a blog writing and reviews. I ordered 28E but it was too small in the cups! https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> I got bad quadboob. Otherwise the bra felt good, and I will get it in 28F.
The straps adjust all the way, band was tight enough (=true to size), and the wires were quite wide, which is good for me. Seems to fit well for my shallow boobs. I can´t wait to get 28F!
