I got major quadboob in size 28F, while the 28G was too big in the cup. I didn't get to try the 28FF, which would probably be a perfect fit. Full review on my blog.
Currently wearing with a bra extender as although passes the band test, feels slightly too tight for comfort. This may just need wearing in before removing the bra extender. Gives great shape in clothing. Generally comfortable, however, centre gore wire rubs against sternum after wearing for more than a couple of hours. Looks lovely
It has the same issues as the Marguerite http://bra.pe/XZ3t/ but worse, making it unwearable. The cups are too low and too closed on top. The edge somehow gapes and cuts in at the same time. The band is quite a bit tighter, pulling the wires out of shape and making the cups too wide (and I already have wide set boobs). There is also some empty space and wrinkling at the sides even though the cups feel too small in front it also doesn't give any lift even when the straps are really tight.
So I figured it would also work for me. Maybe it's not that simple.
That model looks good in just about everything. đ I wonder what her size is. They did a meet the models a while ago and I think that they mentioned sizes. This one has modeled for them for a long time.
Calluna At least she also has a few wrinkles on the button of the cups. So they didn't photoshop her into it.
It looks like the orchid bra is riding up her back though. No 28s over a J cup either. Pity :(
Sovavosi âIt looks like the orchid bra is riding up her back though.â
My conspiracy theory is that they put these models in very large bands so they don't show any back bulges. Effectively fat shaming everybody who buys the correct size.
I really like how Curvy Kate doesn't give a fuck about back fat in their catalog.
I kinda think if you had gotten a 30F or 28FF/G it would've worked out much better for you. In these pictures, to me, it doesn't look like it is too far away from fitting at all, it just looks like the cups are too small by either a cup or two worth of volume.
Wish it was available in my size :-( It's sooo beautiful!
LeProfessor I would like to try that, but the 30F is out of stock, and the wires will probably be too wide in a 28FF. I also don't want to pay 6 Pounds of shipping for a 14.5 Pound bra.
uuuugh! totally sucks when they dont offer free return/exchange shipping. especially if the customer wants to try a different bra, they should def.offer free shipping for that!
This is my best bra at the moment. It's gorgeous, comfortable and fits well. I've had it for a few months and it was great to wear from the first time I tried it on. I bought it full price (about ÂŁ30) and don't regret a penny.
The fabric is soft and feels great against my skin. The floral design is extremely pretty, though it does show through lighter fabrics. The smoothness of the material means that it doesn't show as patterning through my shirts. I find it great to wear under opaque fabrics.
I like that it's so low cut, and that the gore is so tiny. My breasts ...are fairly close together, so I struggle to find bras that won't into my tissue on either side. This one poses no problem whatsoever.
In all other aspects, the fit is great. the band is maybe a bit looser than it could be, but I honestly don't mind as it doesn't ride up or stop holding my breasts up properly. It just means it's comfortable, and it hasn't stretched out yet. My breasts fill the cups nicely, and I have no spillage or quad boob at all with this model. I also like that the wire is sort of cut low under the armpits, so it doesn't dig in or wrap around too far under my ribcage. Read more 117 more words
This bra is really cute and I kept it because it seemed like it fit, but now I've decided that it doesn't have enough projection at the base for my boobs.
This was my first try on bravissimo bras. It was on sale for 15 Pounds so I just added it to reach the 100 Pound threshold required for free shipping when I ordered 3 more Cleo Marcies (now I just need 5 more colorways for my collection, yay).
The cobalt blue is really intense. Too bad it's a bit darker around the band making the front part look slightly washed out. I also love the bright flowers but the 5 bows on this thing are a bit too much.
The fit is quite bad but for some reason insanely comfortable so I âforgotâ to return it and still wear it ...at home or to sleep. The wires are super flexible: I can easily pinch both ends together without any lasting deformation and they go from wide to very wide when I stretch the band a few centimeters. Interestingly they don't fit too wide when wearing it. There is about 1 cm between the tip of the wires and my breast tissue. Maybe my boobs pull them back to the center because the cups are a little small? However the front part feels a little unsupportive and the gore doesnât tack. It effectively looks and feels like a wireless bra.
The cups feel deep and projected with little space on top. They are complete rigid with a firm ribbon on top that cuts in when I lean forward but it doesn't feel to tight. Overall they give me a projected cone like look. I guess this could work better on someone with a more full on bottom shape.
The straps feel wide set even on my very wide shoulders but they don't slip. The band feels true to size but with a lot of stretch which is super nice when slouching on the couch. Quality also looks great. The fabric in front feels very smooth and soft, there are no loose threads and the clasps are properly sewn in, not threatening to come out like on some of my Cleos. This is my old bra from before I gained weight, I bought two of them and ended up removing one of the wires due to pain on my ribs directly below the cups. This was a huge mistake as the cups didnât keep their shape and the pain on my ribs wasnât actually caused by the wire but the seam of the cradle. It probably wonât be an issue for most people but Iâm very sensitive.
This bra is amazingly comfortable because of the soft stretch lace fabric. It runs slightly shallow and wide set, and I would not recommend it for FOT shapes as the lace will cut in. It also runs small, perhaps because of the shallowness - I have had to size up in the cup. Others have said that the band runs small, but that's not my experience and I wear the same size band in this as I do in Freya bras. The bra looks lovely both alone and under clothes. There is a piece of lace at the sides which sticks up a bit, so it's not wearable as a t shirt bra, but it does give a beautiful rounded shape which is perfect if you don't like to look pointy.
Incredibly comfortable. Took some wearing in with a bra extender to get used to band tightness, but within a few weeks was able to wear comfortably without extender. Scoop and swoop allows me to fill the bralette properly with no displaced breast tissue. Looks good beneath clothing. No padding, no wire. Nipples can sometimes be seen through clothing.
This bra is an unlined plunge with stretch mesh on the top half of the upper section.
My shape: I am fairly projected, with fairly narrow roots, tall roots, and I lack fullness above the apex of my breasts. I am also close-set.
This plunge is a pretty great fit on me. The wires are the right side of narrow - I also measured how narrow the cups would be if this was not a plunge (so I imagined the gore continuing higher) and got 4.9-5 inches. The wires are also firm, so they do not open up much when the bra is worn. The shape of these wires is ...more of a swoosh than UU.
The gore is somewhat wide, which is a problem I have with Bravissimo's bras generally, but it is *just* low enough that it is comfortable nonetheless.
Cups: these cups have a LOT of immediate depth, and a fair amount of depth at the apex. The top section is a bit closed, so this style would not suit FOT shapes or most tall-rooted types. I can get away with it because I am shallow where it closes and the stretch mesh stops it from cutting in - if you have upper fullness generally you'll likely not suit this bra. Looking at the cup construction, I think the shape could work for centre-full breasts.
The fabric is firm/not at all stretchy, yet supple, so this bra gives good support, but will mould a little to the shape of the breasts. The fabric is also smooth, so this works well as a t-shirt bra.
Band is on the tight side of TTS, as I find with most Bravissimo own brand bras (unlined ones). This one stretches to around 27-27.5 inches before it feels strained (the Mia was similar, as was the Becca bra of theirs). This suits me because my snug varies between 26-27.5, I find roomier 28s don't last long before I need to hook on the tightest hooks to keep the band in place, even with handwashing. So smaller 28 wearers and 26s would get on well with this one.
Look: the bra is simple, elegant in a low-key way. The gore is adorned with a metal triangle shape rather than a bow, which gives it a lovely, modern look. It's unfussy but interesting, I really like it. The matching briefs are ever so cute, too, with a small triangle cut-out on the back. The back is also edged with the same stretch mesh used in the bra, so no double-bum, no VPL. Read more 313 more words
At first I thought the wires were going to dig in, but after I moved them in their channel a little bit higher at the gore, this bra is very comfortable and fits nicely. I think it's similar to the CK Desire that I love soo much, and similarly it fits a cup size up from my 'normal' size. The cup fabric is soft and silky, the band and straps seem substantial without being industrial looking and it gives a smooth look under clothing, surprisingly. I tried it just under a tank-top and barely noticed any seams! I think this bra will become a go-to in my arsenal of boobie-holders.
animated O my Gosh! That bra looks so pretty on you! wow. :) Ok so I thought the Alexa and the Satine had the same amount of room in the tops of the cups. ? It's a beautiful bra, huh? It looks really good on you compared how it looked on me. :)wow
what eye are you wearing it on? The tightest, loosest or middle?
I'm so happy we did that! :) I get really happy when I can put a girl in a bra that looks and fits so good! I want to work in a bra store that makes good sizes and bras. With A+ seamstresses like 4 that I know of on bratabase. Who can teach me how to alter and we could all work together in America, so that American women don't have to wear painful wire bras or 34C soft cup bras that are too small and too big at the same time!
It would fun to be a fitter. I gave a 28GG Charlotte padded bra to this chic who used to be my neighbor, and she looked so good in that bra, she looked better than all the models in that bra. And I was so happy. I was like, I need to be a fitter, but not at VS or some sizing crap place. A nice place that has 24" bands AA-MM cups and 48" bands. :D
I would love to be a fitter as well, but I found that will happen because we live in the US. I wrote this bra on the loosest hook yesterday, but I think the middle will be my go-to when I wear this bra next.
Satine and Alexa fit you a lot better than they fit me. :) I'm glad though. :)
I tried on the Violet colour at the Bravissimo store, and I thought it was was a pretty good fit with only slight quadboob on the larger breast. I decided to purchase this bra in ivory on ebay, but alas it is quite different in the fit. I recommend you buy the newest line possible if considering purchasing this bra.
Band - Ivory: Rides up quite a lot on the tightest hook. This is quite normal as I do measure 24/25 inches in the ribs, but this band is really really stretchy. Violet: Feels quite snug on the loosest hook, but would probably stretch with wear.
Cups - Ivory: ...The wire doesn't really match the contour of my breast- I think the bottom of the cup is quite shallow because there is some empty space there. This causes a more dramatic quadboob effect. The wires feel very stiff and painful due to the wrong shape. Violet: The wires fit the contour of my breast, there is no poking or pain and the bottom of the cups are filled with only slight quadboob on the larger breast. Read more 79 more words
I am finding that horizontal cut half cups are best for my shape, so I couldn't resist ordering the Mademoiselle. It's a bit too ornamental for my taste, but the subtle colour scheme appealed to me anyway. Also, the idea of possibly getting a complete lingerie set is tickling https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />
Bra description:
I must say, this bra is even prettier in person that it appeared from the online photos: the 'blush' colour is the palest of pinks, which works really beautifully underneath the black lace overlay. On pale complexions it actually appears close to nude. The black lace itself consists of a delicate all-over ...floral pattern on tulle with a wide, detailed, yet flat embroidery border along the cup edges. Bold, embroidered parallel lines finish off the design. The pattern is perfectly mirrored on both cups, a detail that pleases me greatly (CK Entice, I'm looking at you!). The wings are made of a single layer of black powernet and the edges are finished with decorative elastic. The centre gore is embellished with a fairly large black organza bow, a delicate piece of 'blush' ribon and a small black rose. The strap connections are adorned with a simple 'blush' ribbon bow and small black rose. The straps are fairly wide, fully adjustable and feel lovely and soft. Instead of rings, sliders are used to connect the straps to the wings in the back. All findings are black coated metal. The bra is unlined, unpadded, completely synthetic, and very light weight.
One thing one doesn't see mentioned often in a bra description is smell -- this is the first time I myself find it necessary to mention and unfortunately not for positive reasons: the moment I opened the (beautifully wrapped) package a strong 'plasticky' whiff caught my nostrils. Really, this bra smells so strongly of plastic that's it's quite off-putting for me -- I'm terribly sensitive to smells and this one is giving me slight headache. I can only hope it lessens with time.
Bra fit:
In a previous life, I would have said this bra fits me well enough. Now, however, I'm quit sure it doesn't. The main reason is the wires. Oh, these wires ... ! They are some of the most flexible, least stable wires I've ever encountered. They are so flexible that they distort to the point where the centre gore barely stays put on my sternum. They also stretch way too far back under my arms and the bottoms of the cups are visibly flattened. One could argue that this happens because this 28 band is too tight for my 69cm/27" underbust (!) -- I'm obviously using part of the cups as 'band' -- but these wires really ARE extremely flexible. As to tightness: the band actually FEELS perfectly perfect, although I can SEE it obviously isn't. I don't know how a band size up would work with wires this flexible ... wouldn't the whole thing simply feel too loose?
Having said that, I think the shape is otherwise reasonably nice. As it is, the cups are quite shallow and flattened this much they give little projection, but they do indeed suit my shape and with sturdier wires they would almost certainly look *really* good. I AM tempted to exchange this bra for a band size up and a cup size down just to see what happens. I'm thinking I could always replace the wires ... the thing that makes me pause, though, is the high level of 'syntheticness' of this bra. Do I really want to wear a 'plastic' bra?
Conclusion:
What to do, what to do? Exchange and perhaps fiddle around with replacement wires or just return and give up on the thing? I'm impressed with the looks of this bra, but not with the quality of the materials used -- at ÂŁ32 this is NOT a cheap bra, and I'm really not convinced it's worth the money ...
Edited To Add:
I tried this bra with and extender and with the worst of the strain off the band and wires the cups definitely look better. It also shows they are actually too roomy. With an extender the band definitely feels looser, but it may be worth a shot after all as I DO need unpadded bras more than anything ... Read more 605 more words
I bought this bra in nude because I wanted something to wear under white tops.
This bra is definately a lot prettier in person. I really like the bow detailing and the type of ribbon makes it look somewhat expensive, although the bra itself is reasonably priced. The upper section of the cup is sheer with nude coloured embroidery.
I bought this size because it was suggested by the Bravissimo staff (apparently a lot of people were finding the cups smaller than usual). The cups fit fine at the bottom, but the tops were baggy. I will try with 28E and report back with results.
This bra runs very shallow. I sized up to a 28F (from 28E) which allowed me enough depth, but the wires are very wide. The material is so soft and comfortable, I wish it had fit. Interestingly enough, I'm close set and the gore was actually perfect, which I haven't had happen in a bra before.
This bra is super cute for a beige bra! It's extremely comfy and one of my best fits yet! The cups are maybe SLIGHTLY wide but not bad. The inner lining is comfy and feels like a cotton blend. The seams in the cup are not irritating. The material on the outside is soft and pretty and the little button on the gore is cute. The straps are decently wide and comfy/supportive. I am very projected and full on bottom/center. The gore is nice and low. The underwire seems to not reach all the way to either side of the lined area that contains the gore. This results in extra comfiness but possibly less support. This could be because I got this bra used from another bratabase user.
I specifically made a stop into Bravissimo while in the UK to buy some of these! I wanted black and tan and also got a wonderful dark floral print! They are much more rigid than my old, worn Satine and they feel like better quality too!
That's a great pattern, sorry it didn't fit.
