Very comfortable bra. The 32 band is a little loose on me but they don't make a 30 in my size and otherwise it fit better than the other gadzillion bras I tried on at Nordstrom. The top edge will occasionally show under a top but mostly good. The side/back straps are a little narrow so I do get some back bulge. Wish it had more side support.
I have tried this bra on so many times hoping that, this time, it'll fit. So far no dice. This is especially disappointing because the one other Chantelle I have (C Paris Memory Foam) is also a 32DDD and fits great in the cups but is too big in the band.
The band on this bra is fine -- a little tight but not so tight that I'd go up a size; it would be perfect after being worn a bit. The cups are the problem for me. They are definitely too small -- I don't get terrible quad-boob, but it's there, and my boobs can escape some of the sides, too. The shape is also very unflattering, although that may be tied to the cup just being the wrong size. The underwires aren't very flexible, which means that the center gore doesn't QUITE lay flat against my chest, but it's close.
I find the fabric kind of itchy, but I think that's something that would go away with wear and washing.
This bra is pretty great! It's comfortable with the wide straps and wide back band and has a bit of compression and good lifting effect. It almost feels as secure as a good sports bra, which I appreciate because most of the time I don't want any wobbling whatsoever. I'm somewhere between a 30 and 32 band, and this fits quite snugly, but not uncomfortably. The only con I can see is that the embroidery, while gorgeous, is quite raised off the main material so that it shows through a tee shirt a decent amount. I don't really mind it, but be warned it is fairly bumpy lace.
Just bought two of these on ebay in cappucino. I was going to return them, but maybe I will try some home alterations cause the shipping back and forth will cost me almost as much as the bras themselves. I'm a little disappointed in these because I have loved every Chantelle bra so far. The two part cups just don't feel quite supportive enough and leave me a little jiggly. The main problem is that the straps don't adjust along the whole length, and they don't adjust short enough (I must have short shoulders or high boobs because this has been a problem for me before). I think the cups are a touch big, but maybe it's due to the strap problem. The shape is very natural - as in natural boobs- and not as rounded as the rive gauche 3 part cup. I prefer the 3 part cup, rounded shape.
OMG - Love! This bra makes my rather large boobs feel like Bs again. The biggest problem was finding the right size. I would usually start with a 32FF (UK), but this ran big in the cups so I had to exchange and finally landed on a 32F (UK), which translates to an 85 G (FR chantelle sizing). The band is stretchier and larger than most 32s I own, but it doesn't seem to ride up, so I'm cool with it. 3 hook fastener.
IMPORTANT NOTE: band size has been altered and may not be accurate.
This bra was purchased in January of 2008 and the review is from December 2009. The bra is handwashed and worn infrequently, only when all other bras are dirty, but earlier it was worn in weekly rotation.
By August the band was much too loose and my breasts kept falling out of the bottom of the cups. I had purchased for the loosest fit and by this time even the tightest fit did not work. I took it to a seamstress and had it altered to shorten the band to my measurements. Within a month it was again too loose.
This bra offers me next to no support.
The bra was labeled as EU 80G, US 36DDDD, UK 36F and cost 68 USD.
A big disappointment on this one... Wanted it as a t-shirt bra. HerRoom described it as having 3/16" foam padding; however, this bra is completely unlined and cups are made of a single layer of thin fabric. The band is stretchy and not so supportive, and fits more like a 34 (see measurements) -- 2 band sizes too large! The cups are small. Based on its measurements, expect this bra to fit more like a 34A-B.
If you are interested in this specific type of bra (underwire, unlined, molded fabric, no foam) and you have full-ish breasts, try the Fantasie 4520. That bra is much better designed, far better quality, and gives unbelievable lift -- and it retails for $18 less!
Purchased from HerRoom, late Spring 2010.
Incidentally, I will not be ordering from Her Room again anytime soon because they have the worst customer service of any company with which I've ever dealt. Not to worry though, this bra is widely available.
I was really hoping that this bra would fit, because I was in need of a great t-shirt bra. The molded cups don't seem to like my breasts, because they are coming out of the cups. Other than that, the band fits comfortably, and the bra seems to give a good shape under a t-shirt.
I like this bra a lot. It's really cute on, but the band is a bit too big for me. If I wear it on the loosest hook, it doesn't give much support and kind of a weird shape, but if I wear it on the tightest hook, it looks great, with a nice rounded shape; so make sure you get the band right on this one, because it REALLY affects how things look. This was a difficult bra to get the fit right in the cups, but once I figured it out, it was fantastic.
This is a very comfortable bra. it is also fairly supportive (not enough to go running in, but enough for mild exertions). The cups are a bit thin so you may want to not wear a very thin shirt with it.
I have never owned a bra that fit so well! It's also pretty and feminine. The full cups do give a touch of that grandma feel, but the pretty style and perfect fit make up for it.Fit wise, the band is slightly smaller that average and the cups are slightly larger, so keep this in mind when sizing. This is my favorite everyday bra!
I liked this bra although it gives me a much different shape than my usual bra. The band was comfortable but I was pushing out the top of one cup and a bit to the side with the other.
This bra fits pretty well and seems comfortable. This is the first time in ages that I will use a seamed bra - but I think it can be worn under heavier materials and give me a nice shape. It moves my breasts forward rather than to the sides. Since I have a small back, this gives my silhouette a different shape - which I like. The underwires are flat against my chest in the front - something that in my other well-fitting bra is not as apparent.
great bra - no show through (a problem for me). almost feels like sports bra as far as support. has full coverage and NO bounce. comfortable if you want almost rigid support. has held up well washer and dryer.
