I really like this bra and wanted it to fit. Unfortunately, I have the same problem with this bra as I do with many other unlined bras. The center gore is too high and digs painfully into my sternum.
The underwire is too wide as well, and my FoB breasts can't fill in the top part of the cups, even though they sit nearly perfectly in the bottom half. I'm not sure going a cup down in this bra would work. The straps don't adjust tight enough, though I could alter that easily.
All in all, this was a good learning experience. I'm figuring out what works and what doesn't, and that's all I really want!
I really don't like padded bras. I do like the lace on the straps and at the top of the straps. It's a pretty bra, I just wish the cups weren't so padded.
This was one of my first bra's in my new size. I love the look of it, it's a really pretty teal color and the double straps make it seem even prettier.
The fit is great - the band, the cups, the underwires and the gore. All technically perfect. I do wish the gore didn't come up so high because after several hours of wear it starts to get uncomfortable and pokey. But it's not too terrible.
My biggest problem with this bra is that the all over lace starts to feel pretty itchy and scratchy after a few hours. I don't see this as a bra that I ...could wear for a whole day at work, but maybe for a short evening out.
Update 05/22/14 - I ended up taking this bra back. While I liked it and really tried to make it work, the gore is just WAY too high for me and is so uncomfortable that I have to remove it after 3-4 hours. The wires at the top of the gore left deep red marks that lasted for over 3 hours. Read more 77 more words
This is one of my first bra's in my real ABTF size. First I want to say that this is a beautiful bra. Simple, but elegant.
Everything fits really well; the cups, the underwires, the straps. The gore sits flat but it does go too high for my taste, it starts to get annoying after a few hours of wear. It is truly a full coverage bra. I do think that it is a little too projected for me, there is some extra room right at the apex of the bra that I can't fill... but it's not really noticeable.
The straps are not too wide, but they ...are thick and made of a comfy material making them very comfortable to wear. I think the straps are my favorite thing about this bra!

I love the way this bra fits and holds everything in comfortably. The lace doesn't itch or bother at all, which I find can happen with some bras. The center gore is a little too wide and stiff for my natural cleavage, which makes it rub up a bit, but I'm hoping this will loosen up the more I wear the bra. All in all, definitely a recommend!
The Chantelle Haussmann T-Shirt Bra is SO COMFY, I can hardly believe there are underwires in it. The wires are thoroughly hidden in FOAM PADDED CHANNELS. The center gore is too high for me, 2" high. I need 1.5" gores so they don't rest on breast tissue. In addition, I'm pretty sure the space between the tips of the underwires at the center gore is too big,. A center gore more than 1.5" high should ideally have overlapping wires at the gore.
However, the wires are so thoroughly cushioned, I can't with certainty say how wide apart the wires are at the gore. I can't feel the underwires under ...my arms, where they are possibly a bit too narrow, or at the too-high gore. The band is soft and cushy. There's no hard, tight elastic at the edges to press into your skin. The hooks and eyes are embedded in cushioned squares of fabric. The partially adjustable straps barely adjust short enough for me, but the non-adjustable part is cushioned.
This is a convertible bra. I can wear it cross-back. I got the Navy color, which may be better for me than beige, since I wear lots of dark tops, to downplay my upper body.
There is too much side tissue not contained in this bra for my taste. It's less pronounced if I wear the bra on the loosest hooks. Since I'm sister sizing a band up and cup size down, I tried it first on the tightest hooks. I think I can get away with wearing it on the loosest hooks, though. The wires don't seem to narrow too much on the sides.

There is a subtle diagonal seam in each cup. I tried the bra under my thinnest, clingiest tops, and the seams don't show. Hurray!
The cups are molded foam, not the push-up kind. The foam feels denser and less flexible than Chantelle and Fantasie spacer foam. The stiffer material may mean there is more lift than in spacer foam bras.
The cups are low coverage for a T-shirt bra. I kept looking at myself in the mirror and feeling the tops of the cups. I couldn't believe there was a T-shirt bra that was lower coverage than, say, Fantasie Rebecca, most Chantelle T-shirt bras, the Masquerade Amor...I've tried so many. Being a petite person, I want as low coverage cups as possible. Just because my boobs completely fill a Fantasie Rebecca spacer foam bra doesn't mean the bra will work under my tops. I don't even wear low-cut clothing, for the most part, but I've avoided many of my tops because of difficulty finding bras that will stay hidden. This means more than a short center gore. I also need short cups. I never expected to find a lowish coverage T-shirt bra in the Chantelle collection. I now have plenty of Ewa Michalak 3D bras with super low gores and low coverage cups, but they all have seams that show under some tight tops.
To sum up, I'm not sure this fits well, but it's super comfy. I bought this from Nordstrom Rack only intending to enter its measurements into Bratabase, but I'm considering keeping it to wear on days my body needs a rest from firm bras or on days I need an invisible, seamless bra.
Edited to add: I did return this bra the next day. As comfy as it is, I can't ignore how it doesn't leave my close set cleavage area alone. Since center gores above 1.5" high can't help but rest on breast tissue, it makes no sense to keep this. I have many bras with super low gores, and there's no way I can alter the Chantelle Haussman's gore to be narrower, what with its incredibly cushioned wire channels and all. If this had 1.5" center gore, I would buy it in every color. I would also buy backups and store them for the future. Foam padded wire channels, people. The next frontier for bra lovers. I have FOB breasts, and the cup gapes at the straps. Cups are also narrow, so it's not always the best fit on my wide roots. The straps can become twisted up (I think because it has narrow straps). Plus: It's really cute! I love the design!
I think that I bought this Chantelle without fitting it correctly because at the time I was desperate for a bra that even remotely fitted (I lost a fair amount of weight). The gore tacks perfectly but the under-wire comes up to a point on my chest where it digs in and is painful/causes bruises (this could be a sizing issue however, I now require a smaller band size etc.). The cups gape a little at the sides just near my underarm, I know this is not a cup-size/bra-size issue as I tried a cup size above and below this that were obviously too small ...or too big. Though i'm not sure I know enough about breast shape/depth etc. to say why this is!
Aside from the digging in of the under-wire the bra has actually been mostly comfortable, I sometimes need to adjust straps at the end of the day. It is a VERY flattering cut and shape and I swear makes me look a whole dress size smaller. Of course the black and sheer fabric also make it super sexy. It's made out of a very sturdy fabric in the front but the band fabric seems to differ slightly and is a little more stretchy. It seems to have stretched out quickly even with only a few wears and washes in between so I could see that being a problem for bra longevity. Read more 129 more words
My first bra that actually fits me! Very nice quality, the lace doesn't scratch, it's neither too large nor too big on me. Problem is, if you aren't used to underwires, it may feel rather odd.
Great fit, supportive, invisible under clothes. Wore it all day on the first wear with no issues. The cups are made of a very thin molded foam which feels light but prevents nipple show-through. All in all, an excellent bra.
After further wearing and adjusting, I think I need a cup size larger in this style. Could just be monthly breast changes, but I could have sworn it fit much better when I bought it. More science needed!
After trying on what felt like 25+ bras, this one fit right off the hanger with minimal adjustment. Very pretty design: molded cup with geometric lace overlay that sits gently over the breast without squishing or confining. It has little removable push-up pads, which I don't usually go for, but it does look quite sexy. Fits well with the pads removed as well. Only drawback: it's a tiny bit scratchy, but I think this will get better with washing.
Really comfortable. My best fitting bra so far! No poking, squishing, it's perfect! Really comfortable, perfect smoothing effect as a T-Shirt bra should have.
I absolutely love this bra, but it doesn't fit well anymore. It's very pretty and very comfortable... if it fits.
Pros: So cute! And not tacky or childish feeling! Well made and very comfortable when it fits Good shape Invisible underneath clothing Great for shallow Available for cheapo on ebay Thin straps and only two hooks
Cons: Straps are NOT fully adjustable. Only goes up to DDD/F Straps are rather wide set
It fits really well. However, after a couple hours of wear, the band starts to really dig into my sides. After a couple more hours, I can barely stand it. I've added an extender, but that doesn't really seem to help. I think it may be the material itself is irritating my skin.
This bra is very comfortable. Not sure how much it minimizes because I wore it under a vertical stripe dress, and anything where under that emphasizes the roundness of my breasts. But it offers good support, full coverage. Excellent for an everyday bra.
The bra is quite lovely, although one issue I have is that the wing material is more pink than the cups, meaning that it doesn't match my skin tone as well. As a result, they are sometimes visible through white shirts. The underwires also tend to creak.
This is a 32E in UK sizing, although I believe that the cup runs large. The band is quite stretchy (and stretched out at this point). I think it would be better suited for someone requiring a 32F in UK sizing.
*note: the unstretched measurement for the band was taken after I had worn this bra many times and it had been stretched out
Bought this bra at {intimacy} in Boston, which was a hell of a pilgrimage from my home in NE Wisconsin (to be fair, it was a side trip to a greater mission), but given that I'd only managed to find one bra of approximately the right fit in my home area (and it was really ugly), I'd say it was worth it to finally have a bra that fit well and didn't make my eyes bleed. It makes my boobs look great, even in tshirts, and the bow at the gore and I have come to an uneasy understanding. But anyway - the underwire doesn't bother me until ...I've been wearing it for many hours, at which point it starts to dig in a little bit. There's this odd little quirk wherein the fabric surrounding the wire itself twists outward on the bottom of the right cup (as I'm wearing it), which is weird but not exactly uncomfortable. The band stretched to the point where I had to switch to the middle set of hooks pretty fast, which annoys me because I've found I like wearing a band that hugs my ribcage. Overall, I've been very happy with this one, between the band staying where it should and my boobs not falling out when I lean forward, but so far I've got pretty low standards.
Edit, July 2013: So, when I wrote this back in January, I was speaking mostly of how it had fit when I bought it in August and wasn't ready to admit that my boobs had managed to get even bigger in the intervening time. So yeah, it doesn't technically fit anymore, but I can sort of wiggle things around so the quadboob, at least, is minimal (of course, this pulls the gore away from my sternum...), and it's still super-comfortable. In all, I still quite like this bra, and I've been hunting around to find the same model in a bigger size for not as much money as I spent on this one (there was definitely sticker shock).
