    Didn't fit

I bought this on recommendation that it was a similar cut to the Cleo Marcie but a bit more closed on top. I found I couldn’t quite fill the upper stretch lace on Marcie in the same size, so thought the Blake would be THE BRA. Sadly, it wasn’t to be.

I found the band too stretchy and it rode up on my back. My comfortable measurement is closer to 40 so the Blake band definitely runs big. The centre gore sat flush, however the cups were loose pretty much all over and more so on top giving me not much uplift and a slight torpedo shape. Having further researched how to actually use Bratabase, I’m going to try a band and cup size down to see if that gives me a more supportive fit.

I really like the cerise colour and the geometric fabric. The straps are lined with a really soft fabric which I appreciate, I would love if Panache lined their wires with this stuff too.

    Fits

It's not scratchy fabric, but it causes itchyness; softened up (a little) after washing. I tend to prefer plunges, since my breasts are close set, so I'm not used to the tall gore. At first it felt like it was pressing in, but not so much as to cause any pain. In fact, it lay flat from top to bottom, so I think it's just a matter of getting used to a balconette. The outer wire width is OK on me, but if I went up a cup size, I probably wouldn't fill it out. Even before trying it on, the seams on the cup were ... a bit puckered from the stitching, (which is a manufacturing defect: the thread tension was too tight for the weight of the fabric.) But thankfully that effect lessened after washing. The seams are sewn with a flat felled seam, then are covered & top-stitched. The 3 sections of the cup merge at the apex of the cup and inevitably, there is extra thickness, and it resembles a nipple under thin shirts, whether or not your own lines up with it.
The black band across the top of the cups are only a tiny bit stretchy, and when I hold my posture correctly, the edge lays nicely flat. But if I slouch my shoulders whatsoever, that edge becomes open & vertical, creating an edge you can see under your clothes. At those times in my cycle when I am a little fuller, that effect goes away. The straps are stretchy, fully adjustable and flocked on the inside edge, so are very comfortable.

Bottom line: it fits fairly well, but not my favorite. I can't ignore the itchyness (regardless how many times I've washed it), and it just doesn't have the lift these old girls need to look younger.

The mesh fabric is really soft and stretchy, which makes it super comfy, and the band runs stretchy. Pretty closed on top. I’m FOB and wearing this in a cup size smaller than usual, and get only a hint of quadding on my larger side next to the gore—a size up would be way too gapey on top. Definitely more for even or FOT shapes.

This bra currently cuts a little on the top of my boobs. However, as I am on my period I will retry it when I am in a less full week.

Re-tested it: on a less full week only the top elastic cuts a little, but nothing uncomfortable or ugly. I have loosened the straps and this helps.

It gives a natural but lifted shape. Looks very streamlined and very nice. I love the look when I wish to wear something simple.

  7. I bought this based on other reviews that said this was their perfect bra. It's actually pretty good. It has a bit of a sporty look with the plain ribbon lining the top of the cup. The material feels fragile to me; it reminds me of fabric shopping bags people bring to bag their own groceries. I suspect it's more durable, but I find it a little scratchy. I'm hoping it will soften with a few washings. As for the fit, I need a lot of projection and I wish this had a little more room at the bottom of the cup. I have a little bit of ... gaping and wrinkling at the top of my small side - more than I would expect with the bottom of the cup being so tight. The band seems to run true to size for me. Also, the straps are not fully adjustable, unless you force it up over the softer part of the strap. I'm short through the shoulders so I have these pulled as tight as they can go. The material on the inside of the strap is extra soft - nice feature. I find the gore a little tall and that will take some getting used to, as well as the very stiff wires. If I'm not careful, the gore and top of the cups can be seen with my v-neck tee shirts.

Me: very projected, very narrow, top to even full, soft tissue.

This is currently one of my better bras! It's a better fit than Cleo Hettie, not as good as Cleo Kayla, but more comfortable than both.

    Positives:

    * Band feels great. Firm but not digging in.
    * Depth at the wire is good, as is the openness at the top. When I slouch there's even a bit of gapping at the top of the cup, which has never happened before (in a cup that isn't otherwise way too big).
    * Comfortable material - two layers of ultrafine mesh. It's very soft and comfortable. At the GG level, the straps ... are lined with a fleecy material, which I think is nice.
    * Aesthetically, I like the bright colors that this bra comes in, and I appreciate that it's not too lacy/girly (there's a bow at the center but that's the only frill).

    Negatives:

    * I have a bit of in-cup quadding along the main vertical seam - it doesn't have quite enough apex depth.
    * Wires are a smidge too tall, and can dig into my armpits when I sit down. Usually, this is not a problem, but it does restrict my movement a bit.
    * The materials do not appear to be of high quality. I have had this bra all of two months, wearing it maybe once a week, and it's already worn and pilling at every corner.

This is a copy of the same bra that I have in another colorway: 30GG - Cleo » Blake Balconnet Bra (9151)

The pink colorway has a weird, tiny, leopard print bow that I didn't notice in the store pictures. I removed it immediately. The black bow on the turquoise bra doesn't bother me, but the strange size/color of the leopard bow (not matching anything else on the bra) looks very out of place and odd.

I find that this bra runs small in the cup, and the measurements agree - more like a 30H than the 30HH it is supposed to be. It's a shame because I like the colour and the wires are narrow enough, but I get slight quadding even on my smaller side and LOTS of quadding on the larger side.
