  1. This bra has a two part sewn cup made of a very light foam material covered with a soft microfiber like material. There is a strip of lace that runs along the cup that is about ¾ of an inch tall. The straps are made of stiffer material for about the first 7 inches of the strap and then the rest is made of adjustable smooth elastic. The band is rather stretchy with two hooks with three columns in the back.

I love how this bra feels. It is very comfortable and the nude color on my skin tone is undetectable under a white shirt. However where the ... vertical seam is up the front of the cup it is slightly noticeable under a tight shirt. This bra was clearly too small in the cup and I will need to reorder it in a cup size bigger. I think this has to do with the fact that I have very round breast (I have implants). This style really puts your breast out in front and up. I also found that this band was very stretchy and I had to fasten it on the tightest set of hooks right at the start, so I would have to take this bra band in since I am unable to go down a band size.

    Didn't fit

I have been meaning to try the Cleo/Cleo by Panache bras for a bit. I came across a decent quality second hand Juna Balconette Bra in size 30FF and decided to give it a try.

The bra is kind of basic looking, plain black with a vertical seam running up and down the middle of the cup that is also visable on the outside. There is that classic little black how on the top of the 3inch gore between the cups. There is a 1inch wide piece of lace sewn onto and stretching down the top of each cup. Half of it is kind of floral pattern edging, ... the rest mesh-like with some tiny circular cut outs. (Hard to describe those details, ill try to ass a picture) I measured the cups at 6 inches tall before the lace and the lace adds about another inch making the cups total to 7inches tall. The additional lace may make this balconette bra even more FOT friendly. I believe I am even between top and bottom, but functionally FOB due to my root placemeant. On my period I do gain some more topfullness, or if i gain or lose weight in my chest it seems to fluctuate in the top the most. I tend to keep my eye out for bras that can maybe compensate for that.

The 30FF cups seem to fit my left breast but I always have some empty space in the bottom of the cups on the right. The wires are not too wide, which I need. the straps are a bit farther apart than my preference but I think that is just the balconette style.

  3. My shape is soft, narrow and short rooted, and low set.

This bra has been reviewed a thousand times and is discontinued, but I'm reviewing it and posting to the front page anyways. I once bought a used 30FF, which fit well but the lace was floppy (as I know is normal in this bra even when it fits), but the bra was in poor shape when I received it and the band was stretched out. Since my ribcage recently shrunk, I thought I'd give it a go in 28FF, and I got a good deal on this one through Amazon.ca (check out the ridiculous box/packaging picture though). This ... bra fits except I get some bubbling. When I move the lace out of the way it's more obvious. I don't mind a bit of bubbling, as I'd rather bubble than gape or have floppy lace. I marked it as fitting for that reason. There's not much room for centre fullness in this bra. I have less centre fullness now that my boobs shrunk, but even on me I can see that there's not quite enough room. The shape is nice and round, and it's actually fairly narrow for a UK bra. The straps are thin and wimpy, but the band is true to size for a 28. Finally, I feel supported! It was definitely time to try some 28" bands! Wings are too short for me. Aesthetically this bra does nothing for me. It's just a boring beige bra (sorry if you love it, but it's just one girl's opinion), but it offers a nice shape and good comfort, so it'll get well used I'm sure. Plus... beige bras are very practical. Yes... this is a very practical bra.

This looks good and is a great nude shade for you! I’ve always been interested to try it because I love my Cleo Hettie and the round shape Cleo is supposed to give, but I see you’re right it does have low wings (which I don’t like). I would also call myself short, soft and low (but average width not super narrow) and I recently fell in love with Freya 4-part half cups like Lauren - just curious have you tried those and what did you think? Hettie and Lucy have worked for me. I have a Piper im on the fence about, and soon to try an Atlanta...

    • Thanks Jolie0216 . I used to have a cleo Hettie and did like it also (I think it was too big or something... can't remember but I got rid of it), but the Lucy didn't work great for me. I'll have to check out Lauren. I've looked at the Piper and would probably try it if it was on sale. I have read on some reviews that it causes a lot of underarm/armpit chaffing? Is that true? And yeah, that new Atlanta is super cute!

    • 1

Do you find it to be projected enough at the wire, or is it a bit shallow? The packaging is ridiculous. How are we supposed to fight for the environment and reduce our footprint when packing is excessive?

    • Calluna hhmm. I don't know. I'd say averagely projected. I wouldn't call it super projected, but it's not quite shallow either. And I know, that box is bigger in person than it looks in the picture too.

    • 1

You don’t have to be an environmental activist to observe that packaging is excessive for a single bra! And it is...usually if I purchase a single bra from somewhere they send in an envelope style package not a box. Why the vitriol?

    • 1

      Jolie0216 it's a troll

    • 1

Calluna okay so I've worn it for a half day, and it slid down out of my IMF, so I'm thinking it must be at least moderately shallow at the underwire.

    • Thanks Wilderness1 ! I’ve thought about this one before just for a functional bra but always wondered if it would work.

josepha I didn’t ask for your opinion. Go troll elsewhere.

    • 2

So, either the troll's comments were removed or they have me blocked lol!
Wilderness1 despite their habit of calling all their bras of this period "balconnets" Cleo didn't cut them low--so contrary to what you might expect, this is a bra that I'd expect to be almost full-coverage on a person with shorter boobs, not almost-demi-cup coverage like what you are getting. I suspect that is why it's not staying put--it's a just a little too small and your boobs are able to climb out/push it down as you move during the day. I think a 28G would fit without bubbling and the wing height would be more to your liking.

    • 1

Wilderness1 As for the Piper, I’ve worn it all day today and can say there is no underarm chafing. But I’m low set so I’ve never really met a wire too tall! In fact I wish they were higher in almost every bra I have! Piper fits well - when I tried it on I thought the cups a bit small, but maybe I’ve lost weight since then or was on a hormone high tide. Boobs they’re a mystery lol! So I’m definitely keeping. My Atlanta in 30F though was def small in the cup, quadding in both sides. Trying a 30FF tomorrow since I really liked the look a lot, nice low gore!! Usually I’m a pretty solid 30F in Cleo so maybe the Atlanta just runs small....I’ll measure it before I send it back! Piper seems to be cheap on Amazon right now so that’s the only reason I decided to give it a go...but I think 30F will be just fine with it.

    • wendybien they must have been removed because I don't see the comments either now.
Yeah, I wondered if a 28G would fit better. I used to have the 30FF and I thought it fit a bit small in the cup. Maybe if I find a good price I'll give it a go in a bigger size.
Jolie0216 I might have to finally give the piper a go then. I'm low set too never have a problem with wings coming up too high. I like the looks of it (though I wish it wasn't a longline, as I don't tent to reach for them as often). Thanks for the recommendations. I'll be interested to see what your Atlanta looks like. Hope it fits you!

    • Troll account is gone.

    • 1

Wilderness1 yep I imagine the reason the sister size of 30FF appeared to be (more) OK is that the band was really loose. Now that you've shrunk in boob volume that cup volume is probably just about right.
Jolie0216 I am not sure when the Atlanta came out but if it's newer the wings might be fine, if it's older I don't know. All the older Cleos tended to have quite low wings generally because they were cut to appeal to very young full-bust consumers who were assumed to be super paranoid about "matronly" bra construction features (high wings, traditional full cups design, wider straps, 3 or more hooks on the band, etc.) Piper uses sheer materials and colorway to look youthful but it has features that are reminiscent of the main line Panache (Superbra), which embraces that "full support" look. Wing height is no exception--It is hard to compare the Piper measurements to the stats for Cleo oldies since it is a longline, but if you examine the curve that goes from strap attachment to outer wire tip you'll see the difference.

    • Calluna Really ? Is this how you offset your nonsensical virtue signaling tree hugging deliriums?

I really wanted to love this bra. I really, really did. But the center gore of pretty much every Cleo bra I've tried has dug painfully into my sternum, even if I bend out the wires. Plus I don't get the lift I want out of it.

This bra fit okay for a brief period of time, but it was short-lived. The straps are too thin for my tastes, they slid down my shoulders, and I never felt supported at all. While the measurements are similar to my Freya Deco, this one always felt more poorly constructed and like it was just barely holding me up.

Very nice and comfortable everyday bra. I have it in black and nude. Both have not very snug band and quite shallow cups. The gore is not perfect for close set boobs. And it shows under clothing.
I've altered the bra. I've shorten the gore ( just pushed the wires in the channels to free about 2 cm and cut the extra fabric in the gore part, then sewed it back). And also I've shorten the straps ( this is very usual for me, as the straps are almost always not short enough ). Now it is perfect!

I am moderately shallow and full on bottom, with tall, average width roots. I have some bottom projection that makes some bras that are typically recommended for shallow-breasted people too shallow in the bottom and too open on top for me. Of course, the average projection bras are often too projected and too closed on top for me. This Juna has enough bottom projection and is closed enough on top to strike a really good balance.

That said... I need a different bra. The seam in the middle is just too annoying - not only does it show under shirts, some damage or defect has caused it to ... become bumpy and warped. And the lace (ignored when determining fit) sticks up and out very badly. Furthermore the gore is a smidge too high - but I can get over it as long as I maintain a decent posture. I think this 28 band is true-to-size but as someone who needs a 26 band, I wear this on the tightest hooks.

Fixing the band and lace with sewing will be easy, but I'm not sure what to do with that warped seam!...

    • That sounds a lot like my usual problems with bras, we are even quite close in size. My most loved bras right now are Ewa Michalak M cut in 60D.

    • I wonder if ironing the seam might help reduce the puckering?

    • ...or even hand washing it to see if it smooths out?

    • the seam in my juna is bumpy too. so annoying!

This is my favorite bra! It is my best fitting bra for my slightly shallow breasts with short roots. It gives a nice round shape and is very comfortable.
The gore is just narrow enough for me, most of my bras are a bit to wide for my close set breast altough that's not uncomfortable for me it is nice to have a few bras with narrower gores.
It is not completely smooth under clothes, you can see the seams under tight or thin shirts.
I own this bra in black and ivory.

    Didn't fit

This bra was fitted for me at Bravissimo in London.

The fitter recommended that I wear it on the tightest setting. I actually found that after a few hours it was really uncomfortable and digging in to me which was a surprise for me as I've been wearing underwire bras for years with very few issues and wondered why women often complained about them. I finally decided to wear it on the second hook which improved things comfortwise but now only a few weeks later after very little wear it has apparently stretched because I need to wear it on the tightest setting again. Seems that maybe I ... need a smaller band to allow for stretching?

The underwires dig in under the arms but they don't seem too high or too narrow so maybe it's just my body shape that's causing it.

After a few minutes of wear the centre gore does seem to come away from my sternum a small amount.

The straps are only just long enough for me.

Update: Initially I had problems with my Cleos when I first got them - the straps seemed to want to cut my arms off and the centre gores seemed too wide. I guess I've grown into them because they're now my favourite bras and I no longer have those issues.

As with all of my Cleos, the wires are possibly a bit wide for my chest but they're comfortable and leagues ahead of anything else I've tried.

Weight gain has also resulted in me wearing my Cleos on the loosest setting. Hopefully I won't have to start looking for 32F's soon

  9. This bra brings my breasts fully into the cup and against my chest. After breastfeeding i have stretch marks around the base and center of my breasts. In poorly fitting bras this has left me with a deflated look and spill over the tops of cups. The Juna brings all the tissue up and in to create a beautiful roundness that i haven't seen upon myself in years!

Much better than the 28D in the same bra. Oddly, the 28D actually looks bigger on me...Not sure how that works. Wires on this are much better than the 28D and the cups don't look quite so narrow-set, but they're still too narrow for my shape. They also still expect more inner fulness than I have. So this one's getting returned too.
