    Didn't fit

This bra is absolutely a new favorite! I contacted Amazon about the sizing weirdness, and they confirmed that it was mis-tagged. Luckily, 28FF is the perfect size for me after some growth so it worked out beautifully. Kayla should fit those who fit well in Lily, but it's a bit more open on top and center projected. The band runs quite large, so be aware of that. I miss the old tight Cleo bands!

It is a perfect fit. Beautiful! :-)

    • 1

I think this size looks a lot like the lily parrots 30F except the wires are narrower which I'm a big fan of! I'm excited to see this review. I'd love to try one.

    • 1

I love it so much! I do think it's a fairly similar fit to Lily, other than the more open top (which may wrinkle and gape on people with less upper fullness).

    • I like openness at the top as long as it's not on a molded bra. I can never get those to get along with me

    Styling

I like the color combination. Not too boring, not too flashy and not super visible under clothes. They should really offer more styles like this. [rant on] I have enough colorful bras by now. Sometimes I feel like a 15 year old Disney princess when I open my undies drawer just from looking at all the crazy colors. [rant off]

    Fit / Comfort

If fits similar to my Cleo Marcie (http://bra.pe/XYLq/) but with a little more space on top. The upper part of the cups is also stretchy so it doesn't cut in when my boobs decide to swell up a little during the day. But the stretchiness ... also makes it feel somewhat un-supportive when I bend forward. The lower portion of the cups is only a single layer of very smooth, almost silk like fabric. It's super comfy but it doesn't do much in terms of nipple control. The wires are exactly the same as the Marcie: very firm and narrow. While the band feels looser (almost like a 30) even though it has about the same measurements and is made of the same mesh fabric. But it's still snug enough to stay in place on the first hook. The straps are very long for a Cleo. I am about 173cm (5 feet 8 inch) and after about a month I had shorten them even more then in the pictures. I just hope they don't stretch any further since I hate it when the metal adjusters sit on my shoulders.

This looks gorgeous on you aside from the hooks struggling in the back! I wish they made in my size.....sooo tempting to try the 30D......

    • Thank you,
Strange, why do they offer a 30D but no 28DD? Especially if the band is stretchy.

    • 1

....yeah..... I'm not 100% sure on this one, but they may not even offer it in 28E. Some non-padded bras from Cleo start at 28E others start at 28F. They're more than happy to sell me a padded bra in 28D though. I'm not a huge fan of padded bras! My roommate said "go get implants then!" in response to my complaining, he was joking of course. Lol

    • I love the colorway of this bra, but I hate it when prints don't extend to the back of the band. Is it super comfortable or are you aware you're wearing it?

    • 1

"Disney Princess"--giggle. This looks lovely on you!

    • Thank you!

LeProfessor you can find many discontinued Cleo Styles like the Meg, Zia, Minnie, Natasha in 28D/DD on ebay.uk:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_sacat=0&_nkw=cleo%20bra&_dcat=63853&rt=nc&Chest%2520Size=28&Cup%2520Size=D%7CDD (I hope the filters work).

Some are insanely cheap. (Maybe this explains why they don't offer these sizes anymore.)

      gratiat
I am aware of it. I mean, it's not like a super soft bralette that I can completely forget about but still very comfy even after a 16 hour work day.

    • Thank you aboobaccount ! I almost wish you didn't send it to me though, my wallet is empty but I NEEEEEED these bras, lol.

    Fits

Kayla is one of those bras that I’ve wanted to try for over a year now, however, I heard that it was similar to the construction of Jasmine which, up until recently, was a terrible fit. But my weight gain over the fall last year added some new growth and upper fullness, which makes Jasmine/Envy and clones fit better than earlier in the year. The other problem was trying to decide what size go with, since it’s reputation is of a very deep bra. With little upper fullness, I was asking for a shape mismatch with pointy boobs.

Earlier this year, I got a Freya Pop Art bra ... as a giveaway, and ended up listing it as a giveaway again. Much to my surprise, I got relatively quick contact. The seller offered her listings for trade, and this bras was one of them. I sort of felt like I probably need a 30E in this cut, but I said, why not?! I was initially expecting to just give the Freya away, and this would a swap. If it didn’t work, no harm done, and I at least get a bit of research on the bra to know if I needed a smaller size or if it would be worth trying a different size. Well, after about 3 weeks, I finally got the bra.

The pattern or print on the bra is quite unique, and exactly what I expect from Cleo. Bright colours and a fun abstract print. Sadly, it doesn’t extend completely around the whole band. The cups are lightweight and quite silky feeling. The upper stretch lace is robins egg blue with yellow threads. It almost has a mint green appearance. Straps and the rest of the band are the same robins egg blue mint green shade. At the gore is a bright pinky red bow, and the strap sliders and rings to match. Nothing subtle about this bra AT ALL!

The fit of this bra has great immediate depth, and the stretch lace is an asset, however, I have a bit of loose lace. I’m unsure if it’s a size issue or if it’s just been stretched out from prior use. I’m sort of ok with the lace resting on my tissue, and under my work shirts, it’s invisible. The band feels great. Wire width is acceptable...I’m narrowish. I think my biggest issue with this bra is the armpit curve. It’s an armpit eater for sure. Is it a size issue? I don’t know if a 30E would be better. Standing up, it’s not too bad, but it’s seriously painful if I wanna have a nap or relax on the couch on my side.

There are a few things that suggest that I can do a 30E, however, I’m close to in cup quadding, due to my soft tissue. Would it be worse? Would the stretch lace be firmer than this? I’m not sure if I will keep it or list it yet. There’s a lot I like about it. While I’m not mad about the weight gain, I’m glad that it’s rounded out my boobs some to fit bras better. I think when you have soft, deflated, fob and center full pendulous breasts, it can be a challenge. Adding a bit of fullness is definitely a help, though it’s not a huge amount of fullness.

I do love the fun colours and quirky print of the bra, and the silky soft and lightweight feeling of the bra. I do wish it fit a bit better.

    • It’s very unusual, yes.

    • Cool pattern!

    • It’s fun! I love it! Pinks and purples with turquoise and yellow in a sort of plaid but not. Super difficult to describe.

Cleo Kayla is actually more appealing in person than it is in pictures. When I saw the promotional images, I really didn't care for the appearance at all. I decided to order it because I thought the shape of the bra would work well for me. The light blue is actually nice, the multi-colored lower cup is shiny and super soft. The light blue stretch lace has some lime green accents, as does the bottom of the band. The adjusters, rings, and the bow on the gore are all a reddish pink. Per Cleo's standard, it has three columns of two hooks and eyes. It does have the ... padded straps that Cleo/Panache add for GG+ cup sizes.

Kayla has a stretch lace upper cup that, unlike Cleo Hettie, has NO trim on it, so it should work quite well for a variety of top shapes. It has narrow wires, plenty of room in the bottom of the cup and by the center gore. It gives a very uplifted, rounded shape that is typical for unlined Cleo's.

Unfortunately for me, it is just too small after my recent growth, and I sadly cannot find a 30HH at this time. My smaller right breast fits okay, but the larger left quads even with the stretch lace. When the new SS17 Kayla comes out, I will definitely be purchasing one.

I ordered Kayla and a Cleo Hettie Balconnet Bra (9011) at the same time to compare, and I wouldn't say there is a true "sister cut" relation between both, as they fit very differently.

There are some similarities, of course: Both are unpadded Cleo balconettes with a George/Marcie kind of cut pattern, and stretchy lace in the upper part of the cup (which George/Marcie do not have). They have identical wires and identical bands. Both are tight/true to size in the band.

The main difference: Kayla is considerably deeper in the cups than Hettie, therefore running notably larger. The difference is so large it's reflected in the measurements: ... Kayla has 1.6 cm (.75 in) more cup depth and 0.5 cm (.2 in) more cup height than Hettie in the same size. That's a lot.

I found a good fit in Hettie, while Kayla was too large. Sizing down would not be an option, because I need that wire width and side coverage (narrower underwires also means shorter underwires at the sides, and boob tissue might escape).

OTOH, if you find that Hettie is too small for you and you don't want to size up because the wires would end up too wide, try Kayla in the same size instead. It will give you the same underwire shape paired with a deeper cup.

As AnyOtherName mentioned, Kayla seems to be related to the Meg/Lily/Erin style Cleo balconettes (http://www.bratabase.com/browse/cleo/lily-balconnet-bra/related/) in terms of projection, but with a stretchy upper cup.

    The tl;dr version:
Try Kayla if you need narrow wires and lots of projection in the cups. Be prepared that it might run slightly larger than other Cleos (e.g. Marcie), and can accomodate varying levels of upper fulness very well (due to the stretch lace part).
Try Hettie if you are okay with medium to wide wires and average projection.

Short roots, full on bottom and center full . This is supposed to be the same cut as Hettie. It is close but the fit and feel is a little different.I think it could be the difference in fabrics. The wires are pretty good for the tons of immediate projection I need and also pretty good for my center fullness. Wires stay in my IMF although they don't feel quite as comfortable as the Hettie. The Hettie's wires feel almost a little padded. I think perhaps because the fabric is a
little heavier than on the Kayla. The band is very stretchy and I can easily fasten it in the innermost hook. Very unusual for a Cleo. I have touching breasts in a bra, so very little room for gore . This fits like almost all bras I've tried, sits very slightly on breast tissue at the gore.

The Cleo Kayla is pretty and comfortable, like any good bra. The tartan/checker pattern isn't entirely my thing, but it looks so cute with the matching brief that I'd wear it anyway.

What's sad is that this bra didn't fit https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> In a 30F, it seems to run big in both the band and the cup. It actually fits my larger breast near perfect, but there's gapping and wrinkling in both cups to a certain degree. The issue is that the band rides up immediately when on the tightest hook :/ The stretchy alce in the top of the cup would be perfect if the band weren't disappearing up my back.

The fabric is still soft and fairly comfortable, even the cup fabric is nice and soft and not stiff mesh like many other bras.
It's a little difficult to review a bra that doesn't fit, and that I'm not able to comfortably wear.

Wow, that depth is crazy! I can do that band measurement but not almost 11" of depth. This bra has held my curiosity for a while. Unless I put on more weight, this is telling me that I really need to size down on the cups. It's such a beautiful bra, and I can imagine how cute it is with the matching bottoms. Thanks for the great review!

    • 1

I was told Kayla and Jasmine are similar and yea, in these photos and the way you describe it it does look like they're very similar.

    • Calluna It's super cute yeah! I'd say the depth is too much even for me, but I think it's just this bra specifically.
brasaremean Yeah they're very similar in structure and style, but the Jasmine doens't really run big or small in the cups like this one - in my experience. The Jasmine is an old favorite of mine, the fit continues to be great! This particular bra ran big in the cup and band though, and my 30E Jasmine seems to either run big in the band or stretched out too fast because I can't comfortably wear it. I have a 30F Mosaic Jasmine that fits wonderfully though, so it could have been the black/floral colorway that's extra stretchy. That's been known to happen to certain bras and their colors, one color is smaller in the cups than another.

My shape: narrow/average root width, tall roots, projected/very projected, immediate projection, even fullness.

The cups on this bra are an excellent fit on me - they are narrow and deep (very deep!) where I need it, while the stretch lace top works well with my tall roots. These days I'm neither as soft nor as shallow above the apex as I used to be; if I were, I would not be able to fill out the lace top of this bra. So if you have tall, shallow roots, or are FOB, I'd skip this one.

I get a very forward projecting, round shape in this bra which I *love*.

The ... band is too big (I'm a solid 30 back these days), but I got Kayla in a 32 for less than £10 new on Amazon so I'm not fussed. At some point I'll take it to a tailor and have the band shortened, but given that I'm small busted this is not a priority.

I bought this bra because I heard that the cups are similar to Cleo Blake (my best fit, and first perfect fit). Previously I had been buying 28F/30E in shallower cuts, but I tried Cleo Blake on a whim in a 30DD and its fit on me made me realise I am a projected/very projected 30DD. Kayla is deeper and narrower than Blake, and that I fill it perfectly confirms my suspicions.

Appearance-wise Kayla is cute. I have the white abstract print with white and purple lace, it's a little loud for my usual tastes but the classic Cleo details make it more fun than fussy - neon pink scalloping and hooks, purple sliders, purple bow at gore and purple thread through the lace. Given how comfortable it is and how good it makes me feel, I'd wear regardless of appearance. Definitely a new favourite.

This bra is very comfortable, has nice front projection and creates a nice, voluptuous silhouette. The band feels stretchy and the stretch lace on top makes the girls jiggle a bit, which could be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. It felt supportive, I just don't know if the bounciness will bother me.

The Cleo Kayla is a really, really pretty bra, and for the most part, I really like to wear it. The stretch lace does a great job of encapsulating my soft tissue, full on top breasts, which is always a plus. The underwires are too wide, but that's something I've found is consistent with bras from British companies. In terms of quality, Kayla is decent, but I wouldn't say that it's a bra that'll last for an exceptionally long time. I'd say that I take pretty good care of my bras (hand washing them, not wearing them back to back), and I've just now reached the last set ... of hooks after a little over a year and a half of owning the Kayla; I have some bras that I've had for longer and worn about as much that are only on the first or middle set of hooks. Also, the bad does feel a bit flimsy, even when it's tight. The straps are very thin compared to most bras I have and are incredibly flimsy. Luckily, this doesn't bother me too much, but I could see how it could.

In terms of shape, the Kayla is very round for a non padded bra, which is exceptionally important to me as I love having boobs to the sky cleavage and a round, round, round profile (both not quite there for Kayla but are acceptable for my high standards) and basically live in Freya Deco Vibes. The Kayla is comparable to the Cleo Lily in this regard, in my opinion.

Mostly, I like the fit of my Kayla. One thing that I notice with it, though, is that my boobs tend to move away from the center after I've worn it, which is strange because in bras with lower gores like the Freya Deco Vibe, for instance, they move towards the center. I've attached some pictures of this.

    • This bra may not be able to provide the support your breasts need: stretchy band, thin band, thin straps, etc. I hope the wires remain comfortable as your bra slides. I find this occurrence particularly uncomfortable.

If you'd like suggestions, open a Fit Request and several users will provide assistance.
