Cleo Lily Balconnet Bra (7531) in 38J. I love how projected this bra is, even though I wish it were just a bit more projected. The underwire length is perfect for me; the underwire encapsulates my entire breasts, but does not poke my underarm. I don't really like the two row closure, as opposed to 3+ rows. The gore length doesn't really work for me, as I have close set breasts (I think I will try a plunge next time...). The straps are a little far off (I think I have narrow shoulder, but I don't really know), but it's not too much of an issue. This bra also does not work with my very full on top breasts because I do get a bit of quad boob. Even with these cons, I still think this is a great bra (and probably the best fitting one I own).

Fits me well except on my larger breast, in that case I have a little stray tissue on the outside. Overall I really like this bra though.

Measure approx 28HH; close-set, round, even shape (full on top + bottom).

Wires/Straps: Are wide as per usual in my sizing range and, depending on my posture, does cause creasing underneath although sometimes this disappears depending on how I stand. Straps are pretty wide set like most are in my size, usual frustration and poor comfort. What I do like about Cleo straps is the soft material they place under the strap so, despite them being annoyingly wide, they are soft and much more comfortable than the harder material on top which most companies seem to have above and below the strap.

Cups: Fit well, running true to size. The ... lacing on the right side up top is marginally loose depending on posture but I think this is a shape issue as I am fuller on top on the left side than my right. The Cleo Lily is not as open as the Marcie or Millie but not as closed as the Lucy I think.

Profile/Look: Typical rounded, uplifted Cleo look. I love the material and pattern of the Lily print; it looks much more fun and pretty in person than in photos. I love the coral/navy colours and the coral mesh at the top of the cups plus the little bright yellow bow on the gore (always a bit hidden because of how close my shape is).

Band: Typical 2 clasp bra which I didn't think I'd like but is actually okay although my band is riding up and I can pull it back a fair amount on the loosest clasp. Not sure why; I measure 28 comfortably and only 26 inches ‘break the tape’ tight (inhaling) and 25.5-25.25 (exhaling). Generally the unpadded run quite tight in the Cleo from what most bloggers and reviewers say.

In general, people say Cleo Meg is a tricky fit, you either get quadboobs or the top is too loose, but Cleo Lily is much easier to fit for most people. It is on the contrary for me. I can fit nicely in Cleo Meg, albeit a little space on top of my smaller boob, but otherwise it is fine. In Cleo Lily, I have quadboobs. Under loose top it won't show, but with tight shirts, if I pull my shoulders to fix my posture to stand straighter, you can see the quadding.

I find the top of Cleo Lily is a bit too closed for my boobs. I ... would say I am even, leaning to FoT. The sides are also a little low for me, Cleo Marcie is higher. As for the wires, although I find the Lily and Marcie are of the same width (5.5"), somehow I feel that Lily wires go further behind my back than Marcie.

I would say Lily would suit people who have FoB boobs, just like Cleo Lucy. Other than that, the shape, strap placement, etc are of the usual quality of Cleo. The fabric of Lily is softer than Meg.

I realize I'm still working to figure out my actually size after years of trusting Victorias Secrets and this was a really gorgeous color and print! BUT it was not a step in the right direction for me. I tried the Lily in a 36F because it is a sister size of the 38E I was properly measured at and I thought I needed a slightly tighter band. The cups were a little too narrow and close together for my breasts. The fabric held the part of my chest that managed to make it into the cup very firm, and the stretchy panel at the top didn't let ... anything spill over the top. My real issue came along the sides where all of my extra breast tissue that didn't fit into the cup got squeezed out into my armpit. The band on this model seems to run really tight - it measured 28 inches laid flat so I think I'm going to need to size up in that and the cup to make it fit properly. This bra did have one of the sturdiest underwires I've seen in a while - virtually no stretch in it at all - which is good. It also had a really nice amount of support below the underwire allowing it rest more comfortably against the ribs. The straps were a lovely design and adjusted perfectly.

I would tell my friend that they should buy this bra because it is wonderfully comfortable and absolutely beautiful.

This bra is really pretty but, IMO, not really a balconnet, and more like a full cup bra. The gore sits really high and the fabric encases the entire breast. It's really pretty, though. I really wanted this bra to work, so much that I bought it twice (in two different sizes). This size has underwires that aren't quite so "pokey" in my armpit, but nonetheless, the wire still goes back entirely too far for me.

Otherwise, band size is perfect for me and the bra is comfortable, it just doesn't work with much of my wardrobe.

Looking at your pictures, the likely problems that have to do with the full coverage nature and pokey fit of your bra is probably because it's too big (the band also looks too small for you). I think you would do better in a 30GG at the very least. The narrowest part of my torso is a centimeter below where my bra should sit, and as a result, too tight bands can be closed lower on my torso. This appears to be the case in the bra. The cup is too big, so you can pull it up high enough, and it's pushing down the cup, plus the too tight band might be playing a roll it your (potential) in ability to adjust where the cup sits.

I bought this bra based on my experience with the Freya Plunge wirefree. I loved the way that bra looked, but unfortunately, they don't have 30 bands in my cup size. However, it's safe to say that 30HH in Cleo is also NOT my size.

For Cleo/Panache, I need a 28 band, because this bra band is a bit too big even on the smaller set of hooks. The gore pokes my sternum a bit and rises a bit higher than I'd like, but I may get used to that. The cups are obviously too big in this one, but I'm thinking a 28HH will do the trick. I may always have some empty cup at the sides due to my projection. Otherwise, the bra is comfortable, and despite being too big, it is offering more support than my other bras, so I'm wearing it until my 28 arrives.

  9. Pros: The cup is the perfect depth for my shallow lower/full upper breasts. It gives a nice round shape. Surprisingly the upper section laid flat against my breast.

Cons: The band is a little tight initially. There is slight material wrinkling near the seam between the lower two sections and the upper section of fabric.

  10. This bra is amazing. It's absolutely adorable. I was expecting it to be padded, but it isn't. It's actually pretty sheer if you hold it up to the light, but because it is navy, it isn't entirely see through. The top of the cup is made of different fabric than the rest of the cup, and is a little bit looser, but that's okay. Despite not being a plunge, because of the cut of the bra, it looks great with a low cut shirt, much to my surprise. It is incredibly soft as well. The band is wide and firm, and the straps are wide. My one complaint is that the straps are a little bit too wide for my comfort, but I went from wearing Target compression sports bras to 36D convertibles to 30FF/Gs to 32FFs, so that is probably just me not being used to it.
