I heard and read a lot of eulogistic reviews of Cleo Marcie. And as I'm quite compatible with other Cleo balconettes, I decided to try this style in a beautiful colourway, aquamarine. Some of my Cleo bras are a little loose in the band, so I went down to a 28F.
Marcie is made of a very soft material, much more softer than Meg, Bella or Melissa which is not necessarily beneficial for the support. The colour is a very intense turquoise-blue.
The band is really tight and some days I just can't wear it without an extender. If I'll ever try an another Marcie, it'll be definitely with a ... bigger band.
I have a doubt about the cup fit. It seems OK in the center, but something strange is happening under my armpits and in the middle of the cups. I have some extra material between the strap and the underwire (under the armpit) and if I shorten the straps it disappears but the cups wrinkle especially on the smaller side. I also find the underwires extremely wide particularly in the upper part which is “falling down”. They leave their marks about 1 cm behind the breast tissue.
My other issue is the in-cup quadraboob effect and I'm not sure if it means that the cup is too big or too small. I tried to make it disappear with an extender or by loosening the straps, but it didn't change a lot. I suppose it's due to the fact that the in-cup cut is lying just over a very soft skin around the nipples.
The last complaint is a hurtful center gore, my frequent problem. I think that it's due to the tight band and maybe because the cups are a little too big (wrinkling on the sides).
The shape Marcie gives is rather rounded and it keeps my boobs near the ribcage. The support is satisfactory.
In conclusion, I'm not fully satisfied with this bra. I'm maybe not compatible with this style. If I'll ever try to “tame” Marcie again, it'll be in 30DD.
