Ive been looking to get Marcie in better size than 34D for some time now and when I got my babydoll in 65F I was amazed how it made my boobs to look. However after wearing it today Im little bit concerned about some issues.
First of all, the bra makes my bust looks really nice! I feel like I have boobs, as its not minimising at all but opposite which is great for a soft bra
Secondly, my boobs feel so stable. They dont bounce as this occurs even with some Ewa bras!
Thus, cups looks perfect, the depth is great and theres no wrinkling or gapping anywhere, ... buuut! the strap placement is bit too wide in this size. moreover the cups are too wide and they do annoy especially my right smller side causing red marks due to this fact. Maybe the cups is not really my perfect size? or maybe its not the style I should wear? also wires are unfortunately too wide for me a little. After I took bra, the line was like 0.5cm behind my boobs - i think Im going to bend wires and see how that fits.
The band is perfect for my 73cm underbust - felt little too tight after I put it on, but later was okay. During a day I had episode of itchiness under the band and felt like i need to pull the band a little from my body - and it helped. later was okay with no issues.
Beside the issues with too wide cups I really love the bra - and I think Ill keep it.
However, if cups on the side end too close to my armpits and wires are too wide - would sizing down be a good option? or this may cause quadboobs?

Another success with a "Complete Assurance" recommendation from Bratabase. Cool! I'd usually never try a 30F..

So, based on the complete failure 30Fs I've tried before, I'd say this runs small in the cup. The band fits tighter - nice and firm.

The design isn't my cup of tea - the frills on the panties are so dainty! But you know I love my matching sets .. The pink + the ruffles is super feminine, wouldn't be my first color choice .. but it was a great price!

I'd say I still prefer my Cleo Lucy in 30E - the wires seem narrower, the shape and lift seems slightly more pleasing, and the design is less frilly.

    • I have the Marcie in the pink, blue and yellow and, for some reason, the pink fits best. Love the shape!!

    Fits

Cleo's semi-sheer classic in bright raspberry with a polka-dotted little white bow on the center gore. The upper cups are made of non-elastic lace. Straps are fully adjustable and fairly wide set. The shape is pretty round and the bra not too covering.

I own this balcony bra in purple too and as I had a little quadboob tendency with my 30F - Cleo » Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831) I ordered this colorway in both in 30F and 30FF - Cleo » Marcie Balconnet Bra (6831). This proved unnecessary as the raspberry one fits perfectly well in 30F. Measurements are pretty much the same for both so I don't have any explanation for the somewhat tighter fit of the purple one.

    • The raspberry is definitely a stretchier fabric, and apparently the red was too. I'm having problems with the stretchiness

    • 1

Oh that's a pity for you, but a slightly stretchier fabric would explain my observations. For me it appears to make those little difference between pretty well fitting and perfect fit.

    • 1

Haha yes - Floris is supposed to be the same cut, but fits me better because its absolutely solid, unyeilding fabric. I'm a 32J, though, so I've got a lot of weight pushing on that fabric.

    • 1

As far as I can tell from the pictures the cups Panache Floris Balconnet Bra (7311) are made of a more sturdier fabric instead of the double layered mesh you have on the marcie. I imagine this make a big difference in your size range.

    • 1

Exactly - the Floris is a smooth, heavy fabric. I definitely need to wash after 2 or 3 wears, though - even if i only wear it once a week.

    • 1

Oh this I have to do with my Marcies as well. Latest after the third wear the gore starts to feel somewhat uncomfortable. After washing everything is fine again :)

    • sunbird : will you be selling the 30FF?

    • I'm sorry as the bra was part o a bigger order I've already returned it. But I will probably be selling the purple 30F.

that purple is lovely - i hadnt seen that

This is the pink colour which is said to run small in the cups (I heard this after purchasing 30E)!!
I normally wear 28F so I got pink Marcie in 30E, because I read its band runs small. 30E was too small in the cups, band was okay. That´s why I got 30F.

The cups are the right size now. The shape is not ideal for me ( it makes my boobs round but they sit very "low") but technically it fits. The cups are okay but barely so, if I pull my shoulders back the top of cups cuts in slightly. The lace isn´t stretchy at all, if it ... was, it would be better. There is sometimes very slight wrinkling in the nipple area, so bigger cups wouln´t do. (I think my boobs are shallow but I have tall root). However, the wrinkling is not always there.

The band is good and tight enough, I wear it in the loosest hooks. Straps adjust all the way.

The only problem I have with this bra is wires!! They poke me in into sternum and under armpits https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" /> This is not that bad, I´m able to wear the bra and I hope this problem will go away after I wear it. Maybe I could also bend the wires. We´ll see!

EDIT. I bended wires a little and the bra is okay now. It is comfortable enough while wearing it https://d28qt14g3opchh.cloudfront.net/smileys/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" />

What everyone says about this bra giving a very rounded shape is true. The profile is unbelievably hemispherical. I can't figure out how they achieved a half cup look with an unlined, unpadded, sheer, seamed balconette bra.

What I love about the Cleo Marcie:
    (1) Perfectly rounded shape
    (2) Gorgeous, true red color
    (3) Sheer fabric--very pretty lace and mesh
    (4) This 30F Cleo Marcie fits as smoothly as my 30F Fantasie Serene (unlined, unpadded, seamed) and 30F Fantasie Rebecca (padded, seamless) bras. The Marcie's lightweight, sheer cups, however, are obviously tighter and therefore sexier than the Fantasies' cups. The look fits with the vibe the Cleo line is going for. The ... Cleo Marcie fits as well as the 28G Bravissimo Tanzania Stripe (unpadded halfcup) bra I got the same day last week. ( I had realized my 28F Bravissimo Tanzania Stripe bras don't fit that well anymore, if they ever did.)

Why I'm returning the Cleo Marcie:
    (1) The underwires are too low on the sides. Breast tissue escapes and bulges above the bra, underneath my arms. This will make this bra not good for underneath sleeveless tops. All my bras, but especially the sheer ones, need to work under sleeveless tops so I can wear them during the summer.
    (2) The straps are too wide-set and dig into my shoulder/arm area.
    (3) The material is a bit scratchy.

If I didn't get the side bulges, I'd keep the bra and deal with the straps digging in and the scratchiness. I think the latter would be solved with a few hand washings. The band feels a bit too tight, but of course I could use an extender for a while.

This is the most comfortable bra I've ever owned. When I first got it, it was definitely a bit tight, but now it fits so well. The lace and decoration are really cute without being so pronounced they show through everything I wear.

For reference, I'm very projected/pendulum, full on top, and have very narrow roots.

30E in Freya Fancies Plunge is my perfect fit.

30E in the Cleo Marcie is too small in band and cup. 30F cup fits better, but quadboobs slightly on my larger breast. The band is tight enough that I feel constricted at all times. The straps didn't adjust long enough, so while wearing the bra it was pulling my shoulder down and made me hunch over. Where the straps attached to the bra was really wide on me, so it would want to straighten out and slip off.

The bra itself didn't chafe or itch.

I would suggest this for people with average projection and high set breasts that want short straps.

I love Cleo's bright yellow and randomly decided I just needed to have a yellow Marcie one day. They were sold out everywhere since it's such an old colorway, but I did find this one on Bratabase. I knew it would be too small soon when I got it (thanks pregnancy!) but I'm sure I'll eventually shrink back down to fit in it. I guess I'll have to update the review when I do.

Edit- over a year later, I’ve finally lost enough weight to fit in it. Still love the bright yellow and the very round shape. I have been unable to wear my 30FF beige Marcie because of ridiculous in-cup quadding that is visible even under a shirt. This Marcie, despite being smaller, does not noticeably have this problem for me.

The Cleo Marcie is one of my all time favorites, and the nude version is only little less favorite than the colorful Marcies. The shape and style is equally great and it fits pretty well.

This colorway is OK. I don't particularly enjoy nude colors in underwear or in general, but it's a Marcie so I like it anyway. The bow at the gore is a lot bigger than all the other Cleo styles I have and I really like it! It even has little dots on it like the bra and I'm such a fan.

The fit is good, not excellent but decent. It seems this 30F is ... a little small for me, even when my boobs are on the smaller side of the cycle. It feels and looks that the cup height isn't as tall as I would like it to be, so I'm more liable to quadding or spilling out of it. The fire doesn't completely tack but it's not a big problem, it's mostly a reflection of that the cups are a little small. Otherwise, the band is comfortable, the wires don't hurt and the straps don't move too much. All in all an OK+ bra.
