One of 3 bras I got for trying on. Have recently changed sizes.
Fit is ok, but also not good.
Wires fine in the middle but not wide enough on the sides. Close to wide enough! Very close. If the fabric fit better overall, I could probably ignore the wire width. Looks like the cup width measurement comes in at 5", and most of the wide enough wires have been 5.5". Ok maybe i just didn't try it on for long enough for the narrowness to bother me a lot.
How is the projection? Seems close to good. Fabric clearly wrinkles at bottom on outer edge and top center. ...I think that means I could use a tiny bit more projection at the wire. I think my top isn't very full.
Band in this 32DD seems much tighter than the 32DD - Cleo » Lucy Balconnet Bra (5851)! Again, if the cup overall fit better I'd try a band size up!
Mesh fabric surprisingly smooth and comfortable compared to more scratchy Cleo Lucy Balconette.
Shape: round, projected, even to FoB, close set, average root width.
I purchased this during my first round of finding a bra that fits, and settled into 32DDs from 36Cs. My true size is much closer to 30E, however, and this doesn't fit particularly well as a result. The band is super stretchy, and I was easily able to fasten on the second or third hook almost immediately. While the wires are too narrow for me in the 32DD and cut into the side of my breast tissue, perpexingly, the straps are set too wide, so there's about a thumbs-width of empty space near my tail o' spence in ...each cup. I struggle to fill out the top of the cup and get a little gapping at the lace edge after my breasts settle into the cup post scoop-n-swoop. The most interesting fit issue is that because I'm so close set, the gore, while it tacks, sits unevenly on my left breast, kind of like this: \ instead of this _. I don't like the fit on the band or strap. The fabric isn't soft or comfortable. After wearing for 10 minutes I was already hating it. I think the band's run small in this bra too. The cups were the most comfortable part of the bra but perhaps not a good fit for my shape.
Even though I love this bras style its not a 100% perfect for me because of a band slightly too loose and some breast tissue migration because of the DD. I will sell it or exchange it to some online bra size 30E or 28F.
I have erroneously believed my breasts were shallow. For more than twenty years my breasts have ached from bra wearing. I'm very motivated to find a bra that fits! This is my first cut and sew bra that allows some projection. Wow! Kali gathers, lifts, and supports. However, some quadding occurs where the cup meets the lace. The firm band stays in place. Please keep this in mind as you look at photos: it should not "fit" this tightly. The wires are not high enough or wide enough, but I'm determined to find a cut and sew that is.
EDIT: I fit much better in a 30G Kali, but the cup is too tall!
I am tall, with low, wide, shallow, widely spaced, FOB breasts and a promient sternum. I am typically between a 32 and 34 band and either a D or DD cup. I currently wear my Maddie with an extender and the band fits fine that way. Something about the shape of the cups just doesn't fit me exactly right - I think the gore comes up too high to be truly compatible with my sternum (even with a little bending). The straps also dig in to my shoulders even with them extended fully - they aren't as stretchy as I'd like. The lace at the top of the cup also shows under thin t-shirts, which I don't like in a so-called t-shirt bra. The band is also a tad scratchy, although I have sensitive skin and that may go away with a wash or two.
As usual, Cleo fits my shallow/wide-rooted shape well (I'm also a good fit in Cleo Koko Mode Moulded Plunge Bra (7806) and 34D - Cleo » Neve Plunge T-shirt Bra (7196) ). This is not a very padded bra, there's just enough padding to not be "nipply", and the fabric is very soft, like t-shirt material. VERY deep plunge but the fact that my boobs are very widely spaced means I'm not at risk of falling out of the bra (though also means I don't get cleavage), if you were closer-set or less shallow it might be a poor fit. Band is very stretchy, I could possibly have got away with a 30E. I'm not mad about the foofy embroidery at the top, but I'm going to keep it for any occasion where I wear a top that needs a really really deep plunge and it's not a fancy enough occasion to break out my Myla silk plunge bra.
Perfect simple plunge t-shirt bra for those of us with shallow, wide-rooted boobs. Extremely comfortable, nice rounded shape, pretty colour. About the only downside is that I needed to cut out the size label before it scratched a piece of my back off (do they make them out of sandpaper?), but given that that isn't a vital part of the bra...
The Maddie is probably my favourite bra right now, I have it in several colours. I'm shallow, wide-spaced, FOB, and it gives me a lovely, rounded shape. Really comfy too. Only issue is that if/when the band stretches out the gore rides up and digs in a bit, though that's fixable by going to the next set of hooks.
(edited to add that I've realized it's a wee bit tight in the cup if I wear it just before my period as it's quite shallow, might be better in a 32E that week...)
I love this bra! The fit is absolutely perfect on me (FOB, shallow, kind of wide-set), it's extremely comfortable, gives a nice shape with a bit of lift, doesn't show through clothes (unless I wear a white top), and I love the jaunty orange and pink bows. V sad they seem to have discontinued this, I've just bought a Cleo Christina Balconnet Bra (7441) on Ebay on discovering that it's the same cut.
I really loved how this bra looks, but something just doesn't fit... As compared to the 32DD (smaller size) I had previously, the gap at the top of the cup is more prominent, while still being able to fill the bottom of the cup just fine. Between that and the wires being too short or narrow, I have difficulty figuring out exactly what needs to change. Or perhaps, it just doesn't fit with my shape.

This is my 7th Marcie to review, so I'll keep it short.
It's the beige colorway in 32DD.
The band stretches to 31", so it's not quite as firm as the 'old' Marcies, but not as stretchy as the raspberry colored one (which stretched to 32.5" in the same band size). My underbust is 27"/29" (tight/loose) and I prefer the firmness of the old Marcie. However, sizing down a whole band size in the beige would probably give me a band that's too tight and uncomfortable, considering the fact that Marcie is famous for digging wires.
The cups run quite big on this one, considerably bigger than on the candy pink colorway and also slightly bigger than the purple one.
Comparing all Marcie colorways I ever tried on by size (ordered large > small):
I went with the 32DD because some Cleo bands run a bit snug on me and the 32DD was on sale. I get just a little bit of in cup quadding, but I'm not sure if a size up would help, I think it would be a bit too big. However, unlined Cleos and me still don't get along very well because I don't care for the shape I get under clothes, but their cute bras keep tempting me. I love the lift and cleavage I get from the Minnie, just I feel unbalanced under clothes since everything gets pushed in to the center, and somehow under a shirt I also feel as though I look flattened from the front.
I've never had a balconnet bra, so I wasn't expecting the gore to hurt so much!! I'm not sure if it's because the band is too small (doesn't seem like it) or if the gore is too high or too low...?
I should have tried this in a 30E, the band is a bit big, but I've had some Cleos that had bands that ran small, and I think this size was on sale. Compared to other unlined Cleos the look under clothes doesn't seem quite as centered, it seems to leave a little on the sides still, but still not as much as I would like on the sides, I like to feel a bit more balanced. It's kind of odd though because I do prefer the look of the Kali under clothes as opposed to by itself. It fits decently, the top is a bit wrinkly, but sizing down a cup would most likely be too small and the lace does lay mostly flat on this size, I just don't feel like I'm get much lift out of this bra, especially not if I compare it to the Minnie.
I am looking at your pics and wondering why your 32DD boobs look bigger than my 30FF ones ;_;
I have a 30FF in Parfait Bess that fits me, but that cut seems to run small. The calculator on r/abrathat fits puts me at a 30FF, but for the most part 30E is what I usually wear.
The raspberry color is absolutely stunning! The band is a bit tight, but because it's a stretchy it feels fine at first, but after a while it's obviously too tight. The gore is a little too high and pokes my breast tissue. If your breasts aren't close set you should not have a problem with the gore. It's super smooth under t-shirts.
I wanted to love this bra so much. It encapsulated my breast tissue pretty well and made my breasts feel awesome. However, the band was a little too tight, I had deep red and painful marks left from the wires. The band is stretchy so it doesn't feel tight at first, but after a couple hours of wear it becomes apparent that it's too tight. The gore poked my breast tissue and hurt so bad.
