I had really high hopes for this bra after my heartbroken moment with 30GG - Curvy Kate » Arizona Balcony Bra (CK3801) . To recap, the Arizona in Denim fit me better than any bra I've ever tried. It was literally my dream bra. Except for one thing, the top diagonal panel was defective, either due to manufacturing or packaging, and wouldn't lie flat. It bulged out, mimicking a severe quadboob. I know that Arizona comes in a new pattern, but it is hard to find in the US. I did try it in person in the UK this summer when it first came out. The ... Denim one actually fit me better with less empty material below the the strap. So I am torn.
After a little back and forth on Twitter with CK, I decided to try the Daily Boost. (As I understand it, Curvy Kate Daily Dream Balcony Bra (CK4501) is actually closer to Arizona, but that style replaced Daily Boost and I found some Daily Boosts at a great price.) Anyway, it was wishful thinking.
This bra is terrible. I ordered it in a 30GG, but it seems to have the same sizing problem I have with 30G - Curvy Kate » Starlet Moulded Bra (CK2501). That is, the 30G is too small and the 30GG has too much room. So this bra has a lot of gaping and I have to tighten the straps nearly all the way, which means that it goes up too high in my armpits. The straps are too wide set to accommodate that, so it makes for uncomfortable rubbing on the sides of the cups. It also feels like I'm spilling towards the gore and will come out of the bra if I bend down. Towards the outer sides of the cups, I get folding where I don't have enough outer tissue to fill it. I fill out the bottom of the cup well and there's no cutting in on top, but it just can't accommodate my high and short roots. The cups are probably too tall at the strap side and the angle down to the gore too severe. To top it off, the profile on this bra is super pointy and I feel droopy in it. The only plus side is that the band is TTS.
Next stop, Daily Dream - as soon as I can find one cheap enough.
I am also going to add here that I caved and bought two of these bras from Amazon. They were at least 30% cheaper than the next cheapest place, so I went against my better judgement. Every bra I've ever ordered from Amazon has arrived crushed. This was no exception. Both bras were packed together in a single unpadded envelope. One was folded into its own cups and the other was just flat packed. Both have permanent creases in the cups from being stored/packed/shipped that way. Even if I wanted them, I'd probably have to send one of them back because it's unwearable (the creases don't let the cup lie flat) and maybe put up with one damaged one because you can't see the damage as much when wearing it. I continually write packaging reports to Amazon, apparently with no impact thus far. If you have a similar problem with Amazon, please fill out packaging feedback reports (in your order history) so we can potentially change this, though I admit they'll probably ignore us.
Photos coming soon.
